friends wanna go bowling but mom is saying no for racist reasons. how the fuck do I tell her that her worries stem from 1. her Even More racist parents drilling shit into her head over Thirty Years Ago & 2. working in a shitty hole-in-the-wall diner means you're likely to deal with shitty shady people Regardless Of The Area.

we're a group of adults. we (mostly) know how to conduct ourselves. the place is woman-owned and apparently lgbtq+ friendly. they have live performances nearly every night. two of my friends have been there before and vouch for it. I'm almost positive the local bowling alleys we've been to in the past have been Sketchier Than This Place.

#vent #bats squeaks #it's a newer alley in a predominantly black city. that's why my mom's so hesitant #she told me ''whatever. you can go but i'll be texting you like youre in high school'' & she's CONVINCED there was a shooting at this place #in 2021??? yet i can find NOTHING #you'd think that info would be very easy to find! yet i have found literally zero evidence of this having happened #now she's saying i should be fine but to never be anywhere alone and to take her car if i'm still driving my grandpa's cadillac bc it's not #in a high crime area #i'm frustrated lmao. i just want to hang out with my friends
