thinking about evil era rain again and how dialogue from gortash and sceleritas implies that rain has always been able to resist/control the urge and would just let it build up to "outbursts of joy" as sceleritas called them. i feel like somehow that's scarier than orin. never quite knowing when rain's going to snap and go on a spree. if he and enver were together i feel like rain was never allowed to sleep over bc he could never be certain rain wouldn't wake up and kill him in a fit of bloodlust in the middle of the night. orin's somewhat predictable in her chaos. rain was more restrained, more thoughtful and purposed, seeming in perfect control but you could also just never quite be sure what he was going to do next
#i had originally been imagining rain as being a complete master of his urge#until i picked some different dialogue with sceleritas this time#and he said like 'master has always been prone to outbursts of joy' or something#so i think really what's changed with rain is how he FEELS about the urge#like back then he enjoyed it and indulged it but would still occasionally snap#maybe he was conscious during his outbursts but just enjoyed them so much he let himself be out of control for a while#he starts getting a particular look in his eyes when he's about to lose it that enver learned to recognize#if rain hadn't ditched the urge i feel like gale would learn to recognize it too#and they'd have Rain's Evil Room in the house in waterdeep where he gets locked up when he wants to kill#theres a bunch of stuffed animals in there that he can mutilate and gale gets him pigs blood or something from the butchers to play with#it's better than rain ditches the urge but that is kind of a funny image#fel's bg3#oc: rain
