In VY the last time Aredhel wore color was when Argon was buried, body bound with the last of colorful cloth their people had to offer. And grief comes, as always, whenever its least expected

Aredhel grieving her baby brother Argon, who died in the first battle in Beleriand, who was valiant but still died, and she couldn’t stop it

My headcanon is that before his death Aredhel actually wore many colors, and that they didn’t have anything to bury Argon with but strips of cloth. And since it came from many people, all those who loved him and wanted to give something of them for him, it was a colorful assortment. And Aredhel swore to avenge him, but until then all color was for her brother and she herself wore white as sign of her grief and rage
