to be completely transparent,, a solid 95% of times i sit down to (at least try to) study mandarin i can't stop thinking about the name ling yao being a pun

#like its not surprising bc homophones are plentiful and ripe for puns but #its so funny to me thinking about arakawa googling chinese words for immortality elixir to name the character looking for immortality #i mean it checks out bc there's like. hawkeye who has good aim and armstrong who is... strong #lmfaooo #ooc.
