its soooo fucking impossible to sift through information about religions youre not famililar with
#its so hard to fact check anything if you dont have the context that comes with a background in whatever belief system youre researching#even if you take the initiative to study scripture!! the way you interpret texts is informed by your experience and culture#if i got curious about islam and decided to read the quran thatd be helpful#but i wouldnt interpret it the way someone who was raised muslim would and there woul be a ton of shit that id miss. aughhhhrbrhrrbrb#very frustrating i just want to know everything as soon as i become interested in it thanks#i know the actual learning experience has its own value but it stresses me out. i blame my christian upbringing#my instinct is to view everything through the lens of ''ok what are the sins and what am i obligated to do under threat of damnation''#ive tried a few times to find resources on judaism. genuinely do not even know where to start
