what I love about this art: the expressions on both Jyn and Cassian’s faces are quiet and evocative. I particularly love the way Cassian is looking at her, the light reflecting on his cheek and near Jyn’s eyes, and of course Jyn’s scarf tucked like a hood makes her seem like a wayfarer pausing for a moment’s rest.

what I love about this art: Jyn and Cassian getting a nap, resting against each other, still fully dressed and either prepping to go on a mission or just coming off one - it just feels like a very realistic scene for them, snatching what bits of peace and comfort they can in the in-between moments. The poses are sweet, the details are really nicely done, and I find it interesting that even in rest Cassian seems to have just a bit of a frown.

what I love about this art: The subdued colors, the sketchiness of the line work, the empty background all add to the intimacy of this embrace. You get the impression that for Jyn and Cassian, there literally is nothing else in this moment but themselves. What little we can see of Jyn’s face can be interpreted as sad, tired, or at peace (which is one of my favorite qualities of any piece of art, the ability to convey powerful emotion while leaving some room for viewer interpretation). I particularly love how Cassian clings to her, as well.

what I love about this art: Aside from the fact that it’s beautifully done animation of Cassian and Jyn interacting (seriously, it’s a fully rendered animation!), I love the absolutely adorable expressions on both of them at the end...and the beginning. And the middle. Look, this is Jyn and Cassian messing with each other and being cute. What more do you need?

what I love about this art: This is an alternate universe wherein Jyn and Cassian are on Kafrene together, and it’s such an incredible detailed, colorful, and fascinating setup that I wrote a 78,000 word fic that was almost entirely inspired by this image. The way Cassian is scanning ahead, tense and alert! Jyn immediately behind him, watching his back! The vivid colors of the golden banners contrasted to the unforgiving black and white of the city both around them and above them, almost caging them in as they hunt for a way through the crowds! Their postures, relative positions to one another, the perspective - all of it feels so very much like Jyn and Cassian’s entire lives encapsulated into one image...with a healthy dose of oh my god, they were partners!

what I love about this art: Okay, I admit that this is a fanart for something I wrote and as such my bias is intense, but please take a moment to look at the incredible details and color usage in this image. Look at Jyn’s scarf, which contains brilliant nebulas and scattered stardust, spreading out to frame the ominous incoming Star Destroyer. Look at the details of Jedha City spread out before Jyn and Cassian, who are watching it from the relative shadows of the alley way. There is such an “us against the dangerous, uncaring world” vibe in this image. It will forever be one of my top Star Wars images of all time, let alone rebelcaptain!
