The Painters Hero - In Seoul Magazine

Comme tous les soirs, 365 jours par an, à Séoul (Seoul Theater), à Jeju (Halla Art Hall), parfois même à Tokyo ou en Malaisie, les Painters Hero donnent deux représentations dans lesquelles ils initient le public à un spectacle d’art en direct. Ce concept, plutôt particulier, s’avère être un mélange très réussi et plutôt époustouflant de danse, peinture et de mime. Répartis en quatre différentes team (Superman, Chaplin, Beethoven et Jackson), c’est, chaque soir, quatre artistes représentant une team qui donne une représentation.

As every night, 365 days a year, in Seoul (Seoul Theater), in Jeju (Halla Art Hall), sometimes in Tokyo or in Malaysia, the Painters Hero give two performances in which they introduce the public to a live art show. This concept, rather particular, proves to be a very successful and rather breathtaking combination dance, painting and mime. Split in 4 teams (Superman, Chaplin, Beethoven and Jackson), it is, every night, 4 artists standing for a team who gives us a representation.

En ce samedi 18 octobre, nous avons pu assister à la représentation de la Jackson Team. Dès le début, les quatre artistes ont su nous mettre dans l’ambiance, en accueillant le public de manière très amicale et dynamique. Tout au long du show, on a le sentiment de participer au spectacle, nous ne sommes plus seulement spectateurs mais aussi acteurs, et les artistes nous le rendent bien, faisant monter des personnes sur scène, distribuant des dessins et jouant avec le public, créant ainsi une représentation unique, qui se base sur les réactions et interactions du public. Entre rire et émotions, le show est rythmé à la fois avec de la musique et de la danse, de l’humour lors des phases de transitions, du mime, remis au goût du jour, et du grand art avec des réalisations artistiques qui sont hors du commun : la rapidité avec laquelle les œuvres sont effectuées, la précision et la netteté des œuvres, mais aussi le dynamisme et la bonne humeur des artistes rendent le spectacle unique et impressionnant pour tous.

On this 18th of october, we were given the opportunity to attend one of the Jackson’s team presentations. From the beginning, the 4 artists were able to set the mood for the audience, by welcoming the spectators in a friendly and warmly way. Throughout the show, spectators get the feeling to take part in the performance ; people are not only watchers anymore, they are real actors meddling with the artists up on stage who do not hesitate to make people go up on stage with them, giving away drawing they just made in front of us and interacting with us, making each representations different from the other, depending on the public reactions. Between laughs and other emotions, the show is rhythmed by music and dance, humor, wittiness and mime too, brought up to date, without forsaking art with the creation of unique paintings in front of our very own eyes . The rapidity with which the pictures are made, the precision and the acuity, together with the dynamism and the cheerfulness of the artists make a really sole and impressive show for everyone to see.

Cette fusion d’art et de comédie dotée d’effets visuels spectaculaires et joyeux, amène un public divers et varié, en effet, on peut assister à cette représentation dès l’âge de deux ans comme le stipule les informations sur le site internet. Après le show, une séance de dédicace et d’interaction avec les quatre artistes est ouverte. Nous avons été cependant surprises que si peu de personnes profitent de cette occasion. N’hésitez donc surtout pas à leur adresser quelque mot à la fin du spectacle, il est rare de pouvoir échanger avec les artistes après une représentation. De notre côté, nous étions tellement contentes de ce que nous avions vu que nous n’avons pas resisté à l’envie d’acheter le t-shirt de cette Joyful Art Performance. Effectivement, on trouve dans le hall, un petit shop de Goodies à l’effigie de « The Painters Hero ». On peut aussi bien trouver des t-shirts, que des carnets, ainsi que des miniatures des œuvres présentées durant le spectacle. Mais le mieux pour que vous puissiez réellement vous rendre compte de ô combien ce spectacle est quelque chose à voir, c’est de prendre une place et d’assister à ce show, qui, nous en sommes sûres, ne vous décevra pas.

Following the show is a signing session with the artists where you can talk, congratulate them or talk about anything else you want with them, they will be happy to answer back to whatever you might ask them (let it be reasonable, of course). So don’t hesitate for one second to talk to them, it’s rare to get the opportunity to interact with artists after a show nowadays. We were so happy and pleased by the show that we couldn’t resist getting our own T-shirts of this Joyful Art Performance. Indeed, you can find in the all a little shop selling goodies of the show « Painters Hero » such as clothes, notebooks or miniature works of the paintings made during the show. But the best way to really grasp the essence of this performance is not to read us (even if we are always happy to see you here), but to make a reservation as soon as possible and to go take your seat for this show which will not, we are sure of this, deceive you.
