Oh, dang. In the Angel tie-in book I'm reading it now (Endangered Species), it shows that Darla actually did eventually try to help Angelus after she lost him, by finding a way to remove his soul.
#i definitely do ship angelus and darla a little bit. especially from darla's side. he may not have really loved her. but she definitely#loved him the best way she knew how#they're still no spike and drusilla and james and elizabeth though. because they'll turn on each other at the drop of a hat to save their#own skin#so maybe it's not even love from darla's pov. but something close to it. or perhaps it's like i said: she loved him as well as she could#maybe she couldn't not be like that because her human life was so fd up#and that affected her vampirism#tbh even spike and drusilla have their betrayals#james and elizabeth are the real anomalies and vampire lovers i guess#angel book#angel tie-in book#angel the series#buffy the vampire slayer#endangered species
