kuroo always makes sure to have an extra sweater or sweatshirt for you in is car, no matter the time of year 

whether it’s for you to use a as a pillow or blanket while he drives, or wear when he takes you on a night drive to see a meteor shower that he read about earlier that day 

he always wants to be prepared for anything that you may need 

this goes far beyond sweaters or sweatshirts, though 

you need a water bottle on a hike? he packed an extra one 

you forgot hand sanitizer for a shopping trip? the lotion you usually use every night before bed when you two go on a trip? he’s smiling at you gently as he pulls them out of his bag, giving you a gentle nudge with his elbow as he chuckles and hands it over to you and all he wants in exchange is a kiss

but he also loves it when you take care of him? 

when he’s had a long day at work as The Man  all he wants to do is come home, lay his head on your lap, and feel your fingers gently carding through his hair as you tell him about your day 

just the sound of your voice is enough for him to relax, letting go of all the stress that he’s carried throughout the day 

in a totally sfw way usually he LOVES showering with you 

if you wash his hair? he will swoon, melt at your touch, and whine as soon as you tell him the water is going to start getting cold

he loves watching tv with you when the both of your have the time 

he has a wide variety of things that he likes to watch, that range from the stupidest shows you could think of (i see him liking big mouth on netflix) to sophisticated documentaries 

he’ll either lay down with his head in your lap with is tall form stretched out on the couch, legs dangling off the edge as his eyes are trained on whatever you’ve decided to watch 

he always wants to do rock paper scissors or something of the sort to determine who gets to pick what you watch 

usually he tries to distract you with a kiss or picking you up and throwing you onto the couch, but he finds himself losing more often than not because he gets distracted by how cute you look when you’re focusing on beating him 

honestly, to him it doesn’t matter that much what you watch because he’s likely to be asleep in the first 20 minutes, too comforted by your hand on his shoulder or in his hair and the soft sounds of your breath and laughter as you watch the show for him to focus on anything for long 

eventually, the show will end and you’ll both have fallen asleep 

kuroo always wakes up first between the two of you, and after a moment of relishing in the comfort of laying in your lap, he pushes himself off the couch 

he looks down at you, a small smile on his face and eyes full of love before scooping you up in his arms and carrying you to bed, taking care not to wake you up as he lays you down gently in bed 

as he climbs in next to you, he can’t help but draw you closer, even at the risk of waking you up, his head nuzzling into your neck as he relaxes for the night

he knows that sometimes you wake up, a small smile on your face as you feel him pull you into his chest, but he’s grateful you don’t tease him about it 

he just loves the opportunity to be sweet and soft with you, and show you how much you mean to him, even if it is in something as small as an “i love you” whispered into your hair as he drifts off to sleep

one of asahi’s favorite things to do is fall asleep with you 

your back pressed against his chest, the smell of the shampoo and conditioner in your hair as he breathes in, his arms snaking around your waist and pulling you close 

he loves listening to the way your breath slows, the feeling of your body relaxing against his as you drift off

it reminds him of how much you trust him, that you feel safe and protected in his arms

the way you nuzzle even closer into his chest always sends his heart racing and a smile to his face 

he likes to wait for you to fall asleep first before he really settles in for the night, taking one last moment to glance at your sleeping face, calm and content, before pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek as he lays his head down on the pillow for the night

if you’re gone for the weekend? out for the night with friends? on a trip for work? the man is missing you so much 

he wanders around the house, trying to find something to occupy both his hands and his mind before he starts thinking about how much he misses you

tsukishima is one of those people that secretly LOVES to dance

so when he thinks no one is around, he’ll be dancing around the kitchen with the broom, mouthing the words to his favorite songs as he nods his head to the beat

the first time you ever saw him doing it, he was MORTIFIED, he dropped the broom and it slammed down on the floor so loudly that the both of you jumped

his mouth gaped open a “wait i--” filling the air before your laughter interrupts him, a wide smile on your face as you walk over to him

“what? the broom is a better dance partner than me?”

at this, tsukishima rolls his eyes, a light blush still dusting his cheeks, but holds a hand out for you, his eyes averted for a second before finding yours and meeting your challenging and teasing gaze with one of his own

this starts your tradition of dancing around the kitchen, blasting music, and dancing with each other as you “clean”

maybe the neighbors complain about the noise, but neither of you care

bokay and kids 

we don’t plan on having kids for a while. regardless of au, it’s a conversation we’ve had but not a part of our life we’re ready for yet bc we want to enjoy the time we have together, just the two of us for a while! 

the baby fever hits bo first, and he starts noticing kids EVERYWHERE and will point them out and give me the biggest puppy dog eyes about it, telling me how cute they are and how fun it would be to have one of our own like yeah bo babe you don’t have to carry the lil parasite around for 9mo so,,, jkjk i love kids but they do be parasites in utero 

SO N E WAY he eventually convinces me ofc not that hard to do i mean for obvious reasons 👀 and we have a baby boy first!! 

i love the whole big brother and little sister vibe SO yes a baby boy for our first one!! i’m not entirely sure of names, tbh... it would probably depend on how traditional we want to be. knowing bokay, we are not going to be traditional at all, so we probably go with something like haru (light, clear weather) or kiran (sunbeam) bc,,,, the sun significance 

for kids after that, maybe a little girl? tbh pregnancy is tough and id be so happy w any kids we end up having! if we weren’t able to, we’d try and adopt if we could!! if we were to have a little girl, maybe alba (sunrise) or emiko (smiling child)?  

BUT @over5feettall regardless, our kiddos are DEFINITELY going to be playmates!!! i am so excited for them omg they will have so much fun and probably be so chaotic afjdlks we can switch of houses for who gets to host

bokay au drabble if possible

hi mackenzie bb!!! tysm for sending this in!! so i’m thinking abt a trip to the grocery store w bokay!! jing got me inspired w that ask abt what’s in the fridge ksjshs

a trip to the grocery store

the warm afternoon light shines through the windows of the car, painting the dash in dappled patches of pale yellow. a warm breeze, brought in from the speeding of the car, brings with it the smells of summer

bo’s hand is tapping on the steering wheel along to the song, humming under his breath to the chorus as we pull into the parking lot of the store 

putting the car park and turning it off, bo grins over at me before reaching his hand over for mine, pulling it to his lips and pressing a quick kiss to my knuckles with a waggle of his eyebrows 

i laugh at his antics, blowing him a kiss as i get out of the car, making sure to grab the reusable shopping bag from the back seat before i walk around to the front of the car. bo’s hand is already waiting for mine as i approach him, and i take it with a smile, relishing in the way his fingers fit perfectly between mine 

as we approach the front of the store, i slow down, bringing bo to a stop with me. “babe, you know we’re only here for 2 things, right?” i say, eyeing the man next to me, his excitement rolling off him in waves as he pulls me forward with a shake of his head 

“yes, yes for the party, i know!,” he says, grinning at me before his expression turns sheepish. “what were we supposed to bring, again?” 

i roll my eyes fondly at his question, heading into the store, letting go of his hand to reach for a basket. “we’re here for watermelon and cobbler filling ingredients,” i say, checking my phone as i walk for the message from the group chat. “sakura and daichi are bringing burgers, temmie and ushijima are doing sides, and kuroo and birb are hosting. that leaves us with dessert!” 

i look up from my phone to find bo has already wandered over to the produce section, looking at the giant bin of watermelons with a focused expression. upon hearing my approach, his eyes shoot up, going from the basket in my arm and back to me. he bounds over, hand already outstretched, a smile on his face and eyebrows raised 

i laugh, handing him the basket before wandering over to the watermelons. i look at them for a moment before glancing back up at bo

“i have,” i pause throwing my shoulders up in a shrug, “no idea how to tell which one of these is good” 

bo walks over to stand next to me, resting his elbow on my shoulder as we peer into the bin at the large stack of watermelons 

bo turns toward me with a grin on his face and a waggle of his eyebrows. “i say we just get the biggest one we can find,” is all he says before he’s handing me the basket and digging into the bin, emerging several moments later with a watermelon the size of a small child

“bo, babe,” my eyes widen at the large fruit in his arms, my lips pulling into a grin, “it’s PERFECT!”

i look from the watermelon to the basket in my arms, seeing bo do the same thing, a small pout on his face. “looks like you’re going to be carrying it while we’re here!” i laugh, going over and standing on my toes to place a quick kiss to his cheek, before pulling a way with a smile, “thanks for carrying it” 

at this, bo’s eyes light up, a grin spreading across his face. “anything for my girl,” he says, throwing me a wink and following after me as i head toward the rest of the fruit 

“what kind of cobbler should we make?” i turn to bo holding a large container of blueberries in my hand, watching as he picks through the peaches, the large watermelon tucked under his arm 

sensing the potentially terrible situation moments from happening, i quickly walk over, grabbing a peach from his hand and putting it in a bag, glancing down at the watermelon under his arm while raising my eyebrow 

“babe don’t worry! i have a handle on it,” he laughs, just as the smooth skin of the watermelon starts to slip down the fabric of his shirt, his eyes widening and his other hand going to help catch it before it slips any further down  

i laugh at his scrambling, going to grab a few more peaches and putting them in the basket along with the container of blueberries 

“looks like this is everything we need,” i say, heading toward the register, glancing back to see if bo is following me, only to feel a warm presence at my side and a kiss to the top of my head 

“you’re everything i need,” he pulls away, looking down at me with a grin and a wink, his golden eyes soft and twinkling 

“if you weren’t so cute, that kind of thing wouldn’t work,” i laugh at him, my hand going to his back to steer him in the direction of the register also bc have you seen his back?? any excuse to touch it i am TAKING IT

after paying for the groceries, we head over to the entrance of the store. as soon as we cross the threshold into the parking lot, bo looks around, noting the absence of cars and the open stretch of space from us to the car, before turning to me, eyebrows raised and excited smile on his face 

“usual rules?” i ask returning his smile

as soon as he nods, i’m taking off in the direction of the car, the grocery bag thrown over my shoulder, my laugh carrying on the wind as bo splutters behind me for a moment before running after me 

he catches up to me before reaching the car, as he always does, the watermelon swinging in his arms as his laugh joins mine on the air 

we both come to a stop at the car, bo placing the watermelon on the trunk to collect his reward. i roll my eyes fondly, standing on my tip toes to give him a quick kiss, before grabbing the keys in his outstretched hand 

“good thing we’re already almost to lexee’s to pick up her and kags, i wouldn’t want to listen to your music for another 30 minutes,” i tease, the soft tone of my voice betraying my words 

bo looks at me indignantly as he loads the groceries into the trunk, before shutting it, “hey hey! my music taste is good! immaculate, even!” 

i snicker at his words, getting in the driver’s side and adjusting the seat. “you and kuroo are the only ones that think that,” i point out, looking over at him as he connects his phone to the stereo 

“yeah, maybe” he grins over at me, eyebrows raised, as he cues up the first song, “but you love me” 

“yeah,” i laugh, turning to him and grabbing his hand in mine as the opening notes of the song fill the air around us, his first pick one of my new favorites, “i do”

it’s a warm summer night, you and bokuto running slightly ahead of daichi and i, the two of us chatting quietly and swapping stories about our lovable and chaotic partners

before the start of the boardwalk, you and bo turn around, eyes searching the crowd before landing on daichi and i, who are gazing at you fondly

i turn to daichi, looking from you and bo standing and waving and then back to him. “last one there has to buy the cotton candy!” i yell over my shoulder as i take off running toward you and bo, laughing as i go

of course daichi catches up to me and beats me to you and bo. have you seen him? THE THIGHS ON THIS MAN

he runs up to you, panting slightly, his eyes bright with the adrenaline and excitement that only comes from competition. wrapping an arm around your waist, he leans in to press a gentle kiss to your temple before glancing over at me and grinning, before turning to address you. “babe, guess who just earned you some free cotton candy?”

at this you laugh, going to swat at his chest before throwing me a smile. “don’t worry, i know you were going easy on him,” you say, causing everyone in the group to laugh

bo pokes me in the side, before grabbing my hand and swinging it in his, heading toward the cotton candy stand. “don’t worry babe, i’ll win you a giant stuffed animal to make you feel better,” he says giving my hand a squeeze before i feel him pulling me abruptly to the side, an “ooh what about that one!” alerting me of the reason for our change in trajectory 

you and daichi chuckle at the antics you see before you, daichi turning to you with a soft smile

“i guess you won’t be getting that cotton candy,” his brows slightly furrowed and his lips pulling down in the beginnings of a frown

you gaze back up at him, a smile tugging at the corner of your mouth even as you try to contain it

“that’s okay, i’ve got all the sweetness i need right here,” you say, a giggle accompanying the end of your statement as you draw him in for a quick kiss

pulling away from you, daichi laughs, his hand going to rub at the back of his neck as a light blush colors his cheeks

“that sounds like something i would say,” he chuckles, squeezing your hand in his, “i never realizes how cheesy i am”

you laugh at the his words, pulling him towards the booths, smile in your eye
