YES OMG YES.

brokencyde - my personal fave. start with their most popular (get crunk n teach me how to scream) to see if u like em. then i would recommend listening to their album "never die" in full (NOT ON SHUFFLE !!!)

dot dot curve - another fave !!! his music is a bit dirtier, a bit crunchier :3 his album "til the wheels fall off" is a very good start. then move on to "your ears will bleeping bleed" or "snapkracklepop!"

millionaires - a more feminine twist on crunkcore, which is kinda ruled by guys :/ the millionaires have a lot of the same lyrical content that brokencyde has, but with some more electronic elements. they only have a few eps but my personal favorite is "cash only". its very nice !!! but "just got paid / let's get laid" is amazing as well xD

hollywood undead - not technically considered crunkcore, but their sound is very similar to it !!! i would check out "swan songs", specifically "pimpin'"!!!

scene kidz - pretty unknown but absolutely awesome !!! this is a band comprised of spanky (from his solo project dot dot curve), jayreck, and enVY. they only have one album ("fuq-n-es-kay") and its pretty long. but its super good !!! my favorite tracks from them are "damn!" (featuring brokencyde !!!) and "scenie nights" !!!

when my dog lays directly on my chest and stares at me to wake me up in the morning. i can tell she gets excited when she sees im finally awake cause her tail starts going off and i think its the cutest thing in the world

when i bake something new for my family and they lovingly tell me its horrible because 1. they always try it 2. they always keep an open mind and 3. they always suggest how i can make it better (my 'concrete cookies' are still sitting uneaten on the counter - turns out i used too much dough per cookie but the 'flavor was immaculate')

going to the farmers market and seeing the amish selling flowers. i never buy them cause i have allergies but i just think its sweet idk. so many people probably look forward to those saturday flowers and i think its so cute seeing sunflowers sticking out of tote bags

going to get oysters with my mom because were very un-demure about our oysters and its always fun to get slightly tipsy with my mom over two dozen oysters on a tuesday at noon

when my friend visits me and leave things at my place. i have a little stash of all her stuff because shes always forgetting at least one thing. sweat pants in my hamper, lip gloss in my car, tweezers in my carry on. its just a little reminder that im going to see my once around the corner now semi-long distance best friend again

hey so I'm not jewish, but I grew up in a very religious school which had some v negative impacts, so if you don't mind me asking was/is there anything like that in judaism? Or really just other religions in general but in this case I'm asking specifically on like ur experience.

Bc i grew up with ppl constantly blaming stuff on 'oh its for God' and 'Oh dont do/talk about that its sinful' and 'you have to be faithful' and like I was wondering if this is common in other religions, or if this just some extreme fanaticism i had to grow up with

also srry if I use any wrong terminology or anything, like I said I'm not jewish so pls correct me if I said anything wrong

HELLLLOOOO this has been sittin in my ask box 4 quite sum time so imma answer it now !!!

first of all id like to say that this is actually a very common question that i get from non-jewish friends.

and i would have to say, it all depends on interpretation and sect of judaism !!!

when i was super young, i was raised without a religion. i knew my mother was jewish and therefore i was, and i was very curious about judaism !! i started going to a jewish camp at around age 7.

my mother, as i previously stated, is a jewish atheist (but participates in jewish traditions) and is relatively socially progressive. my father was raised catholic and is (in his words) "socially progressive and fiscally conservative".

but anyways, as i have explored judaism and my place in the jewish world, i feel most aligned with reform judaism. me and my mother are trying to become more involved in jewish traditions. i am still on my religious journey and i always enjoy talking to other jews about their experiences with religion and on being a jew in a mostly christian society.

reform judaism is also known as "progressive judaism" or "liberal judaism". it's based around the idea that as jews we should adapt our traditions and beliefs to our modern day environment.

so due to this, i didn't grow up around extreme religion-based homophobia, transphobia, and the like.

however, i have quite a few friends who are growing up in orthodox/conservative jewish households and their experiences sound much like yours.

but as we know, not all jews or sects of judaism are the same :)

Sustainable Fashion Is Easier Than You Think

As the threat of global warming rises, so does the passion to build a more sustainable future for ourselves and for generations to come. From the veteran eco-warriors to the loud-and-proud activists to the newly initiated striving for sustainability, a growing number of conscious consumers want to drive real change both on and offline. This has rightfully become a huge topic of conversation in fashion but we're so bombarded with statistics and new information that many are left frozen in a state of inaction. Often, when engaging with sustainable fashion, we first acknowledge what our clothes are made from in order to reduce unrecyclable landfill. Yet while materials are important, the wider sustainable fashion dialogue spans a plethora of issues, from the chemicals that go into our clothes and their effects on the environment to who made our clothes and how they are treated throughout the supply chain. Often with sustainable fashion, once you research one area, it can become a paralysing rabbit hole of information. "I always liken it to that lateral thinking puzzle where you're trying to get a chicken, a fox and a bag of grain across the river in one boat – for every great-sounding solution, someone will pop up and point out a catch, a drawback or some problematic issue you hadn't thought of," says Lauren Bravo, author of How To Break Up With Fast Fashion. "Include the various types of privilege that we're dealing with – size, budget, time, access – and it can feel like an uphill struggle." Still, there's proof that individual action can lead to real change. When brands reacted to COVID-19-related store closures and decreased sales by cancelling future collections and refusing to pay for orders that had been placed prior to the pandemic, Ayesha Barenblat launched the #PayUp campaign, calling on the accumulative power of individuals to sign petitions and spread awareness. "Since launching the #PayUp petition on March 30th, we’ve garnered 243k signatures and 19 brands have now agreed to pay for back orders," she tells me. "Furthermore, the #PayUp campaign has unlocked an estimated $1 billion for suppliers in Bangladesh and $22 billion globally." This campaign is the perfect example of the power of online communities and proof that a collection of individuals can drive real change and accountability on a global scale. From the humanitarian crises we see within the fashion supply chain to the environmental effects of fast fashion brands producing clothes at dangerously high speeds, the rolling coverage of the climate crisis can be exhausting. None of the damning information we receive is paired with a how-to guide, so what starts as a drive for change can often turn into eco-anxiety. Yet it's vital we stay engaged. Ask Ask the big questions, like Who Made My Clothes or What's In My Clothes. Engage with brands through Instagram, email or Twitter but when you do, explain that you are calling them out because you expect more. Lauren says: "Boycotting only works if we also tell the brands why we're doing it, so I advocate badgering them as much as possible." Ayesha adds: "We want to shift the conversation from boycotts and cancel culture to accountability. What we’re here to do is pressure brands to admit to their mistakes and commit to real change." Prioritise Prioritise secondhand, renting and swapping when you can. Make your wardrobe circular: fix your clothes when they break, rent from Hurr and By Rotation for special occasions, and go to clothes swap events like the one run by Stories Behind Things. Invest Invest in the plethora of brands out there which are prioritising the planet and the people on it. Glow, founded by Comet Chukura, is a social enterprise making woollen hats and scarves and empowers the women who make the clothes to gain skills, a supplementary income and become part of a greater community. Another brand keeping the planet at the core is London-based Riley Studio, which utilises all kinds of waste, from plastic bottles to recycled cashmere, to make gender-neutral clothing. For everyday pieces, my go-to is Organic Basics, which makes low impact textiles with GOTS certified organic cotton.
