Luke Hughes x Latina!reader
synop: a few moments where y/n mistakes Luke's kindness for being best friends, but they mean something more, it always does.
a/n: besties to lovies, the notebook is mentioned ofc, my work feels rusty but hopefully u enjoy ;)
cw: reader gets black eye in non-violent type of way, one cuss word I think, joke about being mugged, drinking, sweetie pie & Lu pet names hehe
You were one of the very few to see Luke Hughes. The turtle under the shell. It took time to see the real him but quickly over time he peaked out every now and then. He didnât know why but he felt a different kind of my comfort around you. A comfort where you knew wouldnât judge him. Maybe as a joke you would tease him but both of you knew you didnât mean any harm. So he let walls come down to a complete stranger. A stranger he had just met, a stranger that he would fall in love with over and over again.
âYou need to be more careful."
It was any other game day that you could attend. Wearing his number after you persuaded for him to buy for you. âWho else am I going to represent? Certainly not JackâŠno offense.â you joked years earlier when you first started to cheer for him in person. He was surprised to hear you to bring up the idea but quickly got you your jersey the next day.
It was any other game day besides the slowly bruising black eye your friend gave you hours earlier. It was childish really, you two were messing around and dared each other to wrestle on the living room floor, and one maneuver led to your left eye hitting the couchâs arm rest. It hurt like a bitch on impact and the stinging after but the ice your friend placed on your face helped.
You knew Luke would say something so you showed up to the arena with sunglasses, taking them off to see the game clearly but putting them back on to see him after.
âNice assist Lu,â you hugged him after he changed
âThanks, whatâs up with the shades?â he laughs poking at your glasses
âI thought they looked good with my outfit, what do you think?â You knew you werenât fooling Luke, you were wearing jeans and his jersey, the basic outfit didnât really need the sunglasses.
âHow could have you seen my assist if you were wearing sunglasses?â His brows raise waiting for your response
You were about to come up with another excuse before Jack runs by snatching said glasses off your eyes, âNice shades!â He yells as he jogs away, revealing your reddish purple turning bruise right under your eye.
âWhat the hell happened!?â Luke asks as he steps forward to get a better look, gently turning your head into better light.
âNothing really, I was messing around and hit my eye on my couch. Donât touch it.â
âDid you put ice on it?â He asks
âOf course I did Luke. Looks crazy though right?â You were kind of proud to have such an injury, it would heal eventually so why not be proud of it.
But Luke was not on the same wavelength, âHere. We gotta put ice on it." he grabbed your hand, dragging you towards the team's med room
"Luke I have ice at home."
"Just come."
The doc checked your shiner out by Luke's request and to no ones surprise, you were fine. He gave you an ice pack and Luke interrogated you on the way out,
"So what actually happened? You didn't just fall into your soft couch and get a black eye... No one hit you right?" you saw how his eyes slightly squinted
"I got mugged for my phone." you deadpanned. His eyes widened and his fists clenched, "But they clearly didn't win." you waved your phone in front of you with a big grin on your face.
"Thats not funny y/n." his features finally softened
You sucked in your smile into a flat one, "Sorry, me and y/f/n were wrestling and it ended with my face into the couch's hard arm rest and boom." you clapped for dramatics.
"You and y/f/n need to be more careful." he whispered in a stern voice making you smile of how many times Luke has said to be careful. Too many times than he would like that's for sure.
âYes I can imagine.â
One of the many things Luke had to put up with to be your friend were the late night calls. You always watched your shows and movies at night. Sometimes with him but other nights when he was at his own place, you would call him to rant and give your movie review. This night you couldn't decide on a new movie to watch so you rewatched The Notebook for the nth time and it left you hollow like always.
You dialed Lukeâs number mid sob after you finished the movie,
"Y/n what's wrong?" his voice was filled with concern as he heard your cries.
"Luke, you have to watch the notebook." you choke out, mindlessly staring at the rolling credits.
He paused in silence, "I already have y/n, I saw it with you, twice." he emphasized the word twice.
"Then you have to see it a third because it's just too good," you hiccup a sob before you started, "I mean- can you just imagine the love of your life writing you a letter everyday for a whole year and not knowing they existed!? god! it's heart wrenching. Noah Calhoun is the standard." Luke heard the same statement you have made many times before and with the same strong conviction. The change in tone in seriousness had him smiling on the other line holding in a laugh.
"Are you imagining?" you demanded after some silence,
"Yes I can imagine." he said in that sweet voice of his. He did imagine a love like Noah and Allie had. He would write a letter everyday to the love of his life if he knew for sure it wouldn't scare her away. He continued to hear your rambles he had heard before because it's the closest thing he can have insight on your views on love.
âI wish we met when we were kids.â
You were having a very small party for your birthday. You had the night off and wanted a quick but memorable celebration so you and close friends had dinner and a birthday cake in your cozy dinning room. You had help from your friends and Luke to decorate the place and it turned out better than imagined.
After dessert, and recreational drinking, gifts were handed out and it was Luke's turn. The one person you were excited the most to receive. He had gifted you a vinyl record of your favorite album,
"Thanks Lu but I don't have a record player" you laughed nervously
"That's why he bought you one too." Jack who had also been invited, carried a medium sized wrapped box that sounded heavy as he placed it in front of you.
"Dude she was supposed to unwrap it." Luke nagged at his brother spoiling his gift
"Oops, I thought it was obvious he would buy you both." he just shrugged his shoulders.
"I love it. Luke, you sweetie pie, thanks." Luke blushed as you called him his favorite nickname you gave him years ago. You hugged him before unwrapping the second gift. Behind your back Jack gave his little brother a wink.
The rest of the night consisted with setting up the record player and playing the album, playing board games, and more drinking than you should have if you wanted to remember the night. It was a bit too late when Luke had cut you off but the night was ending when people were leaving.
He was half-carrying you to bed when you drunkenly admitted, "Youâre a good friend Luke, any girl would be lucky to have you thatâs for sure.â
âThanks,â he whispered as he helped you tuck into bed
âCan you stay with me? At least until I fall I asleep? I always feel lonely when I sleep alone, especially on my birthday.â you asked without any embarrassment.
âOf course.â He kicked off his shoes and got comfortable next to you. It wasnât uncommon to be so close to one another but Luke always felt his heart race.
You were already under your covers, âShouldnât I change into my pjs?â
âYou already did y/n.â Luke noted that you were very intoxicated and you wouldnât remember the next moments.
âOh crap, when did that happen!â Alcohol also made you delirious.
âAn hour before people started to leave, you said you wanted to be comfortable, so now you're wearing your grinch pj pants."
You caressed the soft material, "I love my fuzzy grinch pants." "Hey don't you have a pair too?" you asked Luke from a lingering memory
"Yeah, we have a matching pair," he confirmed
"Because of last christmas... gosh that was a fun break, remember the snowball fight we had! we stayed out so long that your mom forced us to stay inside for the rest of the weekend."
âI remember. That was my favorite christmas.â He admitted,
âThat was my first Christmas with all of you guys.â you realized out loud with some clarity.
Luke cleared his throat as he pulled out a small box from his pocket, âI have one more gift for you.â
âWow. Three gifts. I must be important or something.â you joked as you took the box from his hands,
âYou have no idea.â He whispered to himself but you were too preoccupied with untying the box to hear.
You opened the box to find a dainty gold swan necklace. Intoxicated or not you knew what the swan symbolized.
âIs this- what is this?â you asked in disbelief
âYou know.â he stated softly
âIf youâre a bird, Iâm a bird.â You recited the line that always brought you to tears as you traced the minuscule details.
He watched how your tired eyes blinked slowly, âYou can wear it in the morning.â He took the box and reached over to put it on your nightstand.
âThanks Lu. You are way too kind. Scares me sometimes.â you snuggled into his side as a hug
"I wish we met when we were kids," you said.
âWhy?â his arms found themselves around you caressing your arms.
âBecause I would have spent more time with you. Having the title of growing up with Luke Hughes.â
âYou wouldnât have liked me then.â he said flatly
âI donât believe that. Some friends of mine werenât that great but you,â you point into his chest, âyou are a true friend everyone should have at least once.â
âI was annoying as a kid.â he tried to deflect your words but it didnât help.
âAll kids are annoying. But you were probably the same sweet shy kid and I would have loved you for it like I do now.â
Luke had wondered the same, if, you two grew up together. Would things be different? Seeing and knowing you for longer than a few years. Luke didn't have to think too much before realizing he would have fallen for you inevitably.
You had cuddled closer to his torso if possible and started to close to your sleepy eyes.
âYou should sleep,â he says
âGoodnight Luâ
âNightâ he whispered softly
Once you fell asleep, he stayed in your bed a little bit longer. He thought of the nice words you said about him and thought of the possibility of you liking him back. He imagined at least 1% could have been possible. All he knew for sure, all that was admitted and shared that night would be forgotten on your part. He eventually left your place after leaving pills and water next to the gold necklace.
âI fell for you, hard.â
You woke up the next morning, almost afternoon, gulping the pills and water immediately. You noticed the dainty necklace and smile. You donât remember exactly how you got it but you knew who gave it to you. You wore the necklace for the rest of days ahead.
A few days after your birthday you and Luke had plans to take a night ferry ride to see the city from the water. Another, belated, gift from Luke since you mentioned the idea a long time ago that you donât remember bringing up.
You two ate dinner at your favorite spot and then headed out to the port.
âAnd I thought this was my last gift,â you fidgeted with the jewelry over your sweater.
He smiles at your recognition, âYou never know, I might have another one after this one.â
âNo more gifts please. I canât compete when itâs your birthday.â you two shared a laugh as the ferry cruised by the city lights.
âAs embarrassing it is, I donât remember you gifting me this.â You motioned to your neck,
âI knew you wouldnât remember. You were pretty gone by the end of the night.â
âYeah Iâm starting to regret that.â You leaned against the railing staring at the city
âHow did you it was me who gifted you it?â He asked following your movements but not staring at the city view.
âWho else knows about my notebook obsession better than you?â You turned to face him, looking up at him even though he leaned down for you.
âY/n.â his face drops into a serious one
âLuke.â you mimic his tone but with a smile
He breaks into a smile and laughs towards the water.
âYou make me go crazy.â he says through a smile still looking ahead
âI didnât do anything.â you laugh along at his demeanor
âExactly.â his voice drops again
âI donât get it.â you chuckle again but with uneasiness
âThe night of your birthday. You said you would have loved younger me like you do now if we met then. What did you mean by that?â he turned to you this time.
âI said that?â
âYes you did.â
âI guess I mean I would love you then like I love you now. You just said it yourself.â you scrunched your eyebrows in confusion leaving Luke frustrated.
âBut what does that mean? When you say you love me now.â
âYou donât know what love means Lu? Câmon now.â you were deflecting in humor
âI know what love means. I want to know if weâre talking about the same type of love.â
âWhat type of love are you talking about then?â you asked in the same tone he had been using.
âThe one where I gift you a necklace from your favorite movie. The one where I take the girl Iâve been in love with for years to see the city lights. The one where I would write you a letter everyday for a year.â he talked so fast it surprised you.
âYou would write me a letter everyday?â is all you could get out.
âIn a heartbeat. But I wouldnât want it to come down to that because in the movie they breakup and thatâs when Noah starts writingââ
He rambled off his reason but he was cut off when you pulled him in for a slow and soft kiss that quickly turned passionate. A loud a boat horn interrupts the moment and pulls you both away.
âWhy didnât I see this coming at all?â you asked yourself in his presence
âI donât know. I thought I made it pretty obvious.â His comment would have made you laugh but you were still digesting that you kissed your best friend.
âI always thought that was you being you. The sweet Lu you always are.â
âI think youâre the only person who has ever seen that âsweet Luâ. Youâre the only one who calls me sweetie pie.â he laughs as he rubs his neck.
âI mean that why I fell for you. How couldnât I?â
âRight after we first met, I knew I was falling for you and falling hard.â
âI wish this happened sooner.â you said with teary smile.
He pulled you in and cradled your face, âIâm glad it happened at all.â

Couples Challenge
Imagine
Nico Hischier x Latina!reader
Synop: Luke bets y/n and Nico canât go three days without touching each other: pda, kissing, cuddling, anything. Guess who breaks first?
a/n: nico is a simpp... fluff + angst kinda?
cw: one cuss word maybe one or two more, cute shit, pet names: amor, bubs are used
+
It was a night out with some of the boys to blow off some steam, and of course Nico insisted that you accompanied him. You didn't mind catching up with the boys in person and having your man by your side, you only got uncomfy when Nico got a bit too comfortable in front his teammates.
Don't me get wrong, you loved when Nico showed affection but you knew PDA made other people uncomfortable and Luke who was sitting across from you, made it very clear.
Nico had kissed your temple when you answered Jack with a witty remark, "You guys are gross..." Luke had whispered to himself hoping no one heard,
"What was that little brother?" Jack nudged Luke
"Nothing"
"No I'm pretty sure you said something." Jack was definitely not going to let this go
You heard what Luke said and laughed at his demeanor. You tried to slyly remove Nico's arm around your shoulder because of so. Nico reluctantly removed his arm halfway and gave you a confused look.
"Sorry Luke" You felt awkward for making Luke uncomfortable because of Nico's affection
"Nah, don't say sorry. What did you say Luke?" Jack had a mischievous smile on
"What's going on?" Nico who had oblivious of the whole situation just butted in
"Luke hates seeing you guys happy." Jack says flatly.
"That is not true." Luke raised his voice in his defense
"I'm so confused" Nico went to wrap his arm around your shoulders but you dodged his attempt. His brown eyes give you sad look,
"Sorry Neeks. Luke doesn't like it when couples show affection, I think." you say
"He's just lonely he doesn't have someone" Jack couldn't help be an annoying big brother
Luke rolled his eyes, "It's just that," he sighed "when you guys are together you are always touchy, Nico always has his arm around you and no offense but it's something I don't want to see." he said softly as possible to mean no offense but everyone started to laugh
"Sorry Luke, I try to back down the PDA but your captain couldn't care less." you said
"That's not true, you are always touchy too, not just me." Nico retaliated making you flustered but also defensive,
"Nu uh, you are way more affectionate than me."
"That's a lie." He unconsciously lies. Truth is that the man can't wait to get home to meet your lips for nth time of the day. He can't wait for you to wake up in the morning so he can finally cuddle you without disrupting your sleep. He can never wait to physically touch you in any possible way.
"I bet you guys can't go three days without touching each other." Luke lets out before quickly taking a sip from his drink
"I think I can" you said with confidence, you knew Nico would be on the brink of death but with confidence he also agrees.
"Please make the bet so I don't have to see that" Luke makes a hand waving motion towards y'all. You turn to Nico, who was already looking at you, to see if he would be willing to do this challenge,
"Deal?" you ask with your hand out
"Deal." he shook your hand having no idea how difficult this was going to be.
Conversation continued and not even two minutes later Nico went to put his arm around your shoulder but tried to save face by placing his arm on your chair.
"That's cheating" the Hughes brother said unison,
"I'm not touching her!" Nico said with a grin on his face, this was going to be a challenge alright.
+
The ride home to your shared apartment proved how things were going to be difficult, especially on Nico's side.
"Get your hand off me, sir." you removed Nico's heavy hand from your thigh to the gear stick.
He gave you a very puzzling look, "Oh come on. I thought we were joking, not actually doing the challenge!"
"You shook my hand and we made a deal. You can't back out now." Participating in this challenge was pure entertainment to see Nico break under non-physical-pressure.
"But it's kind of dumb no? We won't see Luke together for the next days so there's no point!"
"The point is to prove Luke wrong even if he's not here, and by the looks of it, you are already struggling." You saw how Nico's right hand has moved from where you placed it, leaning over the console for your touch.
And he takes notice too, "No I'm not." he retreats his hand back to the steering wheel.
"Yes you are." you squint your eyes at your boyfriend, knowing this is going to be fun.
"C'mon Neeks its only three days, it's just for fun. A little test to test our patience." you turned your whole body leaning a little bit forward to convince him to this endeavor.
At a red light, he turns to you, eyeing your lips and asking, "Can we start the challenge tomorrow?"
"Nope." you boop his nose as you plop down into your seat.
He mumbles something is German, probably about how stupid the challenge is, but all you can do is smile all giddy.
+
Nico's clinginess and affection was something to get used to when you first started dating. It was surprising to see someone to be so affectionate towards you all of the time. Soon you realized that the man was madly in love with you and this is how he showed it. Even in mundane moments like brushing your teeth before bed, he was always there.
After arriving home, both of your got dressed in your jammies, and went to use the bathroom following your nightly routine. You tried to brush your teeth in peace but you could't ignore the stare of your lover through the mirror, next to you doing the same thing.
"Stop looking at me" you said with a mouth full of foamy toothpaste,
He softly grabs your waist to pull you aside, he spits into the shared sink, "So I can't look at you now?" He essentially losses the challenge now that he has both of his arms around your waist with his head on your shoulder.
"Not like you're going to pounce at me at any second, no." Even though you felt at home in his embrace you sneaked out of his arms leaving you outside the bathroom. He leans on the door frame blocking the entrance from you entering,
"If you don't move, I'll swallow this toothpaste."
He reluctantly moves as you quickly move to spit into the sink but when you turn around, you find him blocking the door again.
"Move, please" you ask in an overly-friendly tone hoping he would budge but doesn't.
He puckers out his lips waiting for you to give him what he wants, completely forgetting or caring about the challenge.
You sigh then come up to him, grabbing the back of his neck to pull him in, "Close your eyes." he obliges, still having his minty lips puckered trying to hold back a smile. You lean in, not towards his mouth, but near his ear, "En tus sueños mi amorâ you whispered with a smirk. Catching his body slack, you escaped the bathroom leaving him dumbfounded.
+ +
As fun it is to tease Nico, you were definitely missing his touch, but that was quickly washed away when you saw him become frustrated.
He was about to leave for his morning practice but of course, because he's so accustomed to daily rituals, he expects a hug and very passionate kiss, which you don't return, in return he becomes upset.
"I don't like this challenge." he pouts with his bag over his shoulder,
"I'm sorry bubs," you ruffle his hair to soothe him, "Just think of how better our kisses will be after two days."
"I wan't to kiss you now." your heart ached seeing sadness in his eyes, but a challenge is a challenge, and you were not going to lose.
"You can kiss me when you get back." you say with an innocent looking smile and Nico just sighs. He knows you won't kiss him now so he walks away defeated before saying I love you, and you say it back. At least you said it back is what he thinks as he leaves.
+
When Nico returns home he makes it clear he doesn't give a damn about the challenge. He finds you in the shared bedroom reading one of your current obsessions.
"Catch me" he warns you to save your book, as he slowly falls on top of you on the bed. He has you trapped under his body weight,
"Nico get off of me!" you struggle under his weight as he becomes very still.
"No. You have to kiss me first." he mumbles in the soft pillows.
"I can't breathe." you intentionally ignored his request and continued to struggle under him trying hard to not laugh.
"I'm not moving." he breathes into your neck,
"Nico Hischier get off me!" you raise your voice and he props onto his hands hovering over you. He watches how you avoid his eyes, pulling in your lips to hold back a smile.
He leans in to kiss you but you turn your head away making him huff in annoyance,
âYou promised to give me a kiss.â
âBut youâre sweaty,â you fidget with his dangling gold chain, avoiding his eye contact but he just rolls his eyes to your excuse.
He gets off of you and sits next you, âIf I take a shower, will you kiss me then?â the desperation in his voice makes your face warm,
âMaybeâ you squeak out before running to the living room. You know he doesnât follow you when you hear the shower running.
When heâs all dried off and dressed heâs determined to get a kiss but starts to question if this all because of the dumb challenge or something else.
He plops on the coach next to you, resting his chin on your shoulder looking up to you, âIch liebe dichâ he says.
You just hum in acknowledgment which plasters a face full of confusion on him. He moves back to get a better understanding on what the hell is going on,
âNahh, say it back.â He leans back still with his eyebrows scrunched but reaches his patience when you say,
âYeah same.â
âIs this a part of the challenge or did I do something wrong?â his serious tone makes you choke out a giggle
âThe is not funny,â his eyes finally catch yours when you look at him,
âIt kinda is,â you say holding back your big grin
You felt bad for the guy so you gave him a very simple and final ultimatum, "Admit youâre more affecionate than me then you can kiss me.â
His jaw drops ever so slightly baffled that that was all he had to say to earn a kiss. But his body moves faster than his brain and goes straight in for another kiss. Your hand stops him as you laugh, âDid you not hear what I just said?â
âIâm more affectionate.â He says quickly and flatly, no room for argument.
âObviamente.â you say as you pull him in for what he was starving for not even for 24 hours.
After a few minutes of a quick makeout sesh, you mention how Luke would be so disappointed. Both of you didnât even last a day, let alone three. âI donât care what he thinks. Actually, Iâll talk with him next time I see him. Itâs his fault you were being mean to me.â
Oh boy, poor Luke, you thought.

Too Good
Imagine
Mat Barzal x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n finds herself in a slum and pushes her boyfriend away because of said slum.
cw: angst + fluff, depression, insecurities, comparisons, overthinking, cussing, mat picks up reader bridal style
+
It hit you like a wave of doubt on any other day. You were on your lunch break, grabbing a cup of coffee and you noticed these group of girls who looked like models. They were outstandingly beautiful. Their hair and makeup, even the way they stood, everything about them looked perfect.
When you got home and looked at yourself in the mirror, you noticed your hair was messy and your makeup worn out. You couldnât help to think back to those girls and compare what you saw in the mirror.
You quickly fixed your hair and took off your makeup and started to feel and look better but the shocking image in your mind still ate at you. You tried as hard as you could to not compare yourself to others because it was pointless but for some reason today it totally slipped by you.
You spent the rest of your afternoon on the couch rotting as you watched your favorite show. Your phone started ringing and Mat was calling
âHey beautifulâ
You tried not to laugh at the irony
âHiâ
âWhat are you doing tonight?â
âNothing just watching my show.â
âOk so you donât mind me coming over with pizza from our favorite place?â
âOf course I donât.â You rolled your eyes at his obvious offer.
âGreat, Iâll be there in 5!â You knew Mat lived farther than 5 minutes away and the pizza place would take longer
âYouâre already on your way with the pizza arenât you?â
âI didnât think my girlfriend would pass up on this amazing offer so I planned ahead.â
âI guess youâre right, drive safe!â
âWill doâ
+
You left your front door unlocked for Mat to come in with ease as you got plates ready for the meal.
âHoney Iâm home!â Mat yelled obnoxiously
He found you by the living room and before he could set the pizza box down he cups your face and gives you a smooch before hugging you.
âIâve missed you so much.â He said into your neck
âWe saw each other two days ago.â You muffled into his shoulder
He pulls away and sets the box down, âI know but I need to see you every so often to function properly.â He said very dramatically as he placed slices on both plates.
âUh huh, Iâm sure thatâs true.â
âOh itâs very true.â He hands you your plate and both of you walk to the couch to find your seats
âShould we watch a show or movie?â He asked
âMovie.â
+
At the near end of the uninteresting movie, Mat and you and cuddled on the couch barely falling asleep before he speaks up,
âI have a surprise for youâ
âWhatâs the surprise?â You ask as he holds you from behind
âItâs not really a surprise but what do you think of moving in with me?â He says so calmly with a smile on his face that you couldnât see
You felt your heart stop for a quick second and your whole body freeze. You shift in your lying position before sitting up, out of his grasp,
âYou want me to move in?â
He had a nervous smile on his face now, â I mean yeah. Iâm always at yours or youâre always at mine so why not?â
You kept silent and observed his face fall from a bright smile to a regretful one.
âYou donât have to say yes now. It takes time to move.â Mat tried to soften the surprise but he was starting to rethink of asking you at all.
âIâm sorry if asking you is too soon and if youâre not ready.â Mat said after you still kept silent
âNo no, I want to live with you matty itâs just you caught me by surprise.â You tried to reason but it didnât sound too convincing
âAre you sure? I could understand if you want to say no, for whatever reason. I just think it would be nice to wake up next to you every morning.â He cradled your face with his hand
âI want to. Trust me. Just give me some time.â Truth is you really did want to share a home with Matty but your conscience couldnât understand why he would.
+ +
The next few days you found yourself deeper in this pit, from what you called it. A slump. Since Mat offered you moving in, it had left you conflicted.
You knew he loved you and cared for you but some sick part of you didnât want to believe it. He called and texted when he could but when he wanted to meet up you made an excuse not to. You felt stuck in between believing Mat and believing what your mind was telling you.
As much as you tried to push away those thoughts, they still haunted you in your sleep. You dreamt that Matt was leaving you for someone else and woke up crying that morning.
Of course it didnât take long for Mat to notice your absence. So he called the morning of that nightmare.
âHey babe, Iâm free after practice today. I want to see you. I havenât seen you in almost a week.â
As much as you missed his presence, you felt awkward being physically with him.
âSorry Mat, Iâve been just so busy with work lately. Iâm going to have a long day today too.â You werenât a very good liar and Mat could tell something was off.
âBaby why are you lying?â He asked without any malice but just pure concern.
Your heart stopped again and you could feel a lump in your throat starting to form.
âIâm not.â You choked out
âIs it because I asked you to move in? Itâs really fine if you donât want to, Iâm not going to force you to move in with me. I donât mind driving over to your place.â
You tried stopping your tears from falling and let out a trembly breath over the phone, unfortunately Matt heard it
âBaby youâre scaring me, whatâs wrong?â
âNothing, itâs just- I need some time to think- time alone.â Your voice clearly wavered
âHow long do you need?â His voice sounded flat this time
âI donât know Mat. Just give me a few days. Iâll call or text when Iâm ready.â You were face palming yourself in your empty apartment
âOkay, I love you.â Matâs face on the other side of the phone call was confused and hurt. Although both of you knew he would respect your wishes,
âI love you too Mat.â You ended the call quickly and found yourself with no plan on how to better yourself.
++
Two days had passed and still no plan. If anything you tried your best on was to avoid people, especially Mat. You tried to get a home cook meal in after work even if it was just a quesadilla.
Then loud knocks were heard from your door.
âY/n, I know you said to wait but we need to talk.â It was Mat yelling across your door and you felt your stomach drop.
You walked to your front door and peeked at Mat through the peep hole. Truth be told he didnât look good either.
âFuckâ you whispered to yourself as you froze to open to the door.
âPlease open the doorâ Mat yelled again for you to hear.
You reluctantly opened the door to let him in. You could only look at him in the eyes for a second before walking away.
âCan we talk?â He closed the door and slowly followed you into your living room
âSureâ you had no idea what to say. Every possible negative thought was running through your head.
âFirst, Iâm sorry that I came here even though you wanted me to wait. I was worried about you and us to be honest. Second, why are you distancing yourself?â His voice had gotten closer to you but you still werenât looking at him.
âItâs not about moving in.â You tried you best getting a sentence or even a word out before crying.
âThen whatâs the problem?â You felt his hand touch your arm but you pulled away.
You really couldnât help but chuckle in exhaustion. You knew if you told Mat all your insecurities and how they form the chances of him leaving were high.
âIâm not alright, clearly.â You started to tear up, âUm I donât know how to say this, but sometimes I think very bad about myself and I start to believe it. And when I do, I start to distance myself from the people I love because if they knew how I saw myself they would think the same.â You started to sob through your confession, still avoiding his eyes in case you were right.
He tried to touch you again and you couldnât help but to find comfort in his embrace.
âWhen do you feel this way?â He whispered into your hair
âSometimes it comes at random. These past days itâs because I was comparing myself to these girls. Itâs ridiculous honestly.â You tried to pull away, starting to become embarrassed in your vulnerability.
âItâs not ridiculous. I mean this whole situation isnât ridiculous.â He sighed and you started to think he didnât know what to say, you wouldnât have known either.
âBesides you not wanting to tell me all of this because you thought I would see you that way, which I would never.â He spoke slowly, âI wished you knew you could trust me with anything.â
âI do trust you, itâs just I donât trust myself to let you see the whole real me.â You leaned your head on his chest in embarrassment.
âI think Iâm seeing all of it now and I still love you if thatâs what your worried about.â He lifted your head up so you could look at him.
âWhy?â
âBecause when I first met you I knew you were the one, as cheesy as it sounds.â You saw him smile in the first time in a while, âI knew you were the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, through the good and bad.â
âYouâre too good, Mathew Barzal.â You started to tear up again but from happiness.
âYou might have to remind me every once in awhile though.â You gave him a sad smile
âI donât think Iâll mind.â He caressed your face and leaned in for one of many shared kisses.
+++
2 months later
âI think that was the last box- Matthew put me down!â Matt caught you by surprise by carrying you bridal style into your shared apartment.
âGive me a sec, Iâm trying to be romantic here.â He kicked the door open with his foot and stepped into the living room you have seen plenty of times.
âWeâre not married silly.â
âNot yet anyway, but very soon.â He still had his ways to make you flustered.
âI believe a proposal comes first then marriage.â He had set you down both standing now.
He started to get on one knee but you knew better, âoh please, get upâ both of you laughed as he stood up to meet you eye level,
âYou know I would never propose to you like that, you deserve something more romantic.â He pulled you in by the waist
âYouâre right. Propose to me in a private but romantic area, not a public proposal.â You whispered up to him
âAnything you want, Iâll give.â He whispered back.

Flower Boy
Imagine
Nico Hischier x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n a bitter florist, notices the foreign man that always stops by her work once a week.
a/n: Shy Nico + reader who hates love bc sheâs never been in love before?
cw: cussing
Being a florist didnât really require much work, depending on the day you could be held in the back or on dreaded days in the front left to socialize with people.
There are many types of people who buy flowers in person: 1. Spouses who think of their significant other 2. Spouses who forgot a special date for the significant other 3. Birthdays or house warming gifts etc.
Depending on who came into the small shop, it set the mood for the small talk. Spouses who were stressing about a forgotten anniversary kept silent. Spouses who bought a bouquet of roses wouldnât stop talking about their âhoney bunâ.
The silence was always preferred over the âmy girlfriend thisâ or âmy boyfriend thatâ. Nobody asked, just take the goddamn flowers to your âsweetie pieâ.
Lord knew you werenât getting any flowers from anyone else. Probably the reason why you were so bitter. Either way, the rare chance you were gifted flowers, those babies would die within a week.
Ironic, working at a flower shop only to neglect the ones at home. Not that you had any at the moment.
Anywho you knew every time a fine man that walked into that door was most likely taken. Including the brunette with a backwards cap on scanning the sun flowers. He was too handsome to be single you thought.
You were gawking at him until he started to walk up to the counter.
âHi, I want a sunflower bouquet but Iâm not sure what else to add. Could you help me out?â the brown eyed man asked with a friendly smile
âNo problemâ you replied with a customer service smile. You walked outside the counter and helped the guy with the arrangement.
+
âHow does this look?â You turned around with the finished design.
âIt looks amazing, I really appreciate the help. I donât know much about flowers but these look great.â
âThatâs why im here to help.â You said with a half ass smile as you hand him the bouquet.
âThat will be $32â Flowers were expensive too.
âThanks again, these are going to make my mom smile.â Well that was different, the bouquet were for his mother and not his girlfriend.
âI hope she will.â You said with a genuine smile this time, a green flag noted for the man who buys his mom flowers.
++
Next week you were in the back, finishing up on bulk orders the shop needed for the following week.
âHey y/n could you stand in for me a bit I need to take this call, pretty please?â Your coworker Ash who was working the front disrupted your silent shift.
âSureâ the call was probably about their cat, it had some medical issues lately as Ash had rambled on about.
Luckily no one was in the front when you took over and the call wouldnât have taken too long. But you spoke too soon as the bell rang on the entrance door.
Lo and behold it was the green flag brunette. Instead of looking around he walked straight up to you at the counter.
âHiâ he said
âHiâ
âDid your mom like the bouquet?â You asked
âHuh?â He was almost out of breath when he came in.
âLast week, you were here and bought a sunflower bouquet that I beautifully made.â
âOh yeah, sorry. Yeah she loved it, thanks.â He quickly said, it looked like he was about to break a sweat
âSo what can I help you with today?â You offered your services like usual
âUm well I want to- actually Iâm in a rush and- can I just buy a single rose? Is that weird?â He stumbled over his words for the most simplest order
âA single rose it is, not weird at all. It wonât take long.â You turned to grab a single plastic sleeve and walked over to grab the best rose out of the bunch and packed it up.
âYour total is $3.â You handed the rose to Mr. Brunette and softly took his three one dollar bills.
âThanksâŠy/n.â He said your name to your surprise
âUh no problem.â You forget youâre wearing a name tag considering no customer calls you by your name.
He opened his mouth like he was going to say something else but just turned and took big strides out the door.
++
Next week was organizing the newly ordered flowers on the ground floor. Luckily they came in time before the downpour started. If it was raining it meant less customers were going to show, which of course you didnât mind.
You were organizing the tulips when the hanging door bell chimed, making you turn to look at the drenched brunette who has always made an appearance every week.
âHiâ you said across the shop in confusion as to why he would walk in the rain to buy overpriced flowers.
âHiâ he tried to air dry his hair with his hands as if he were a golden retriever
âDo you need a towel or something?â You asked as you moved to the back to get one.
âThat would be great.â He stood there awkwardly
You handed him a small towel, âThanksâ
âSo did the rain inspire you to buy flowers today or?â You joke about his wet shirt and damp hair state
Fortunately, he laughs along. âNo, it just surprised me as I walked here.â
âWell then, what can I get you today⊠I hope itâs not weird to ask for your name considering this is third time Iâve seen you here.â
âNot weird at all, itâs Nico. Honestly any small flower arrangement is fine today, whatever you think looks good.â
âAlright, Nico, Iâll see what I got. Is this for your mom again?â You never initiated small talk with customers but Nico was becoming a regular and you wanted to know if he was single or not.
âNoâ he laughed âitâs for a girl.â Thunder hit outside as the sound of your dreams being crushed.
âOh thatâs sweet.â Small talk was over now on your behalf. But the arrangement was going to be pretty either way.
+
By the time you exchanged the money for the flowers it was still raining outside, too hard for anyone to be walking without an umbrella.
âThe rain hasnât slowed down at all, I think thereâs an umbrella I can lend you. Itâs in the back just give me a sec.â
âItâs okay really, I donât mind some rain.â
âItâs no problem.â You went in the back to find said umbrella
âI found it, itâs a bit dusty though-â but Nico was gone and you were left alone with the flowers.
++
âSo did you ask her- Dude why are drenched? Youâre making a mess on my floor.â Jack said to Nico who was out of breath.
âItâs raining.â
âObviously. So did you ask her for her number?â Jack asks his friend who had been pining over the flower girl, as Jack puts its, for weeks now.
âNo. I chickened out last minute.â
âMore like again. I mean câmon I still have the rose from last time. What excuse did you say this time?â
âI said these were for a girl.â Nico motioned the fragile and ruined bouquet from the rain and running.
âOh my god youâre an idiot. She totally thinks you have a girlfriend now.â
âWell I panicked! If I show up one more time sheâll think Iâm a weirdo.â
âMaybe go again later today, when the rain is gone, and ask her out officially.â
âWhat if she thinks Iâm a stalker or something?â
âShe wouldnât be that wrong to be honest.â
âNot helpful.â
âNeither is the rainwater on my wooden floors. Clean up before you go and see her.â
++
Nico leaving you without a goodbye was weird to say the least and rude. He literally vanished into thin air. Soon after he left the sky was clearing up and turning blue again.
An hour passed by and you were done restocking the flowers and ready to take a needed break. Since you were the only one there, you flipped the closed sign with the clock on it to read âwill return at 2:20pmâ and locked the door. You decided to watch The Crown in the back room while eating your favorite snack. Although, half way into your break you hear fast and loud knocking.
âWhat the hell man, I swear some people cannot read.â You complained to yourself and went out to see Nico again but this time locked outside the shop.
You unlocked the glass door and opened it ajar for the guy, âhiâ you say in a questioning tone.
âDid the flowers get ruined by the rain? Because I did have an umbrella for you, but you kind of just disappeared right after.â Nico was trying so hard to control his fast breathing, but you noticed. He just kept silent trying to hold in his breath.
âAre you okay? Did you run down here? Or is someone chasing you?â You peered outside the door to see anyone that could be possibly chasing him but no one was out of sorts.
âCan I come in?â he finally says something
You side eyed the closed sign and looked at your watch, there was a little over five minutes left of your break, but whatever right?
âAnything for my favorite customerâ you stepped aside to let him in before closing the door again.
âSo be honest with me, the flowers are ruined right?â You asked knowing you were 90% right.
âYeah, sorry, they are.â
âTo be expected. Well I can make you the same ones, not free though, I did advise you to take the umbrella.â You didnât want to sound mean but you were right and Nico knew that.
âActually, can I get one that you would like, if someone gave you flowers?â This was not a shocking request considering other boyfriends that come in ask the same thing because they donât know what their girlfriends like.
âNo problem.â You always had the same bouquet in mind for this request, very simple and easy to care of, but a sight to see nonetheless.
+
âHere you go, donât ruin these ones now.â You joke, hoping it would land and it did with Nicoâs smile as proof.
âHopefully your girlfriend likes them.â You say flatly before turning to clean up the scraps of the arrangement.
âActuallyâ he whisper yells before you turn around completely. He passes the flowers back to you, with a note of his own with his number on it.
You looked down at the flowers and catch the note, âI thought you had a girlfriendâ you asked looking at the man across from you.
âNo, I donât I gave the rose to my friend, he still has it.â
âOhâŠ?â You say in confusion on what he was trying to say.
âOh weâre not- heâs just a friend- Iâm- this is my way of asking you out and Iâm doing a horrible job, sorryâ
âSo the first sunflower bouquet wasnât for your mom?â You were totally confused.
âNo those were actually for my mom. The rose, wasnât for anyone, I just wanted to see you again. Sorry if thatâs weird.â
âAnd todayâs flowers?â
âAnother excuse to see you again.â
You started to smile and almost laughed at his stumbling of words âI seeâ
âI was supposed to ask you out earlier today but I backed out and now Iâm here again.â He says with a nervous smile patiently waiting for your response.
âThanks Nico, youâll get your answer when I get back home.â You slyly say before placing the flowers in a vase of water.
âOkay, have a nice day.â He said with zero confidence as he walked out the shop thinking he completely screwed up.
++
You got home later and set the flowers on your counter, taking the hand written note with you to your couch.
Flower boy (nico)
Hey flower boy, I think I have your answer. Also I think itâs really sweet to give your friend flowers!

Thinking Of You
Imagine
Adam Fantilli x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n and Adam are "casual" friends with a hint of hatred that turns to something real when their mutual friend forces them to share a bed.
a/n: enemies to lovers đ one bed trope let's pretend Adam went to a public high school & disregard the location inaccuracies.
cw: cussing
+
It was natural instinct for you to be rude to the male species, especially if they looked like Adam Fantilli. In middle school you met your best friend but along with y/f/n, Adam trailed along, and never seemed to leave.
You never became friends, you wouldn't even consider mutual friends, but he was always there and his existence was annoying in itself.
In high school, every time you searched for your friend he would always be around the corner; bugging you, âhey raccoon eyes, didn't get any sleep last night or what?"
"Adam get out of my face." you scoffed.
"Couldn't sleep because you were thinking of me huh?" he nudged your shoulder.
This was freshman Adam, his teasing got worse over the years but lessened senior year as he focused on hockey.
++
Prom weekend was awful to say the least, you couldn't find the dress, and your date canceled the night before. You would have gone with y/f/n but she already had a date. Your friend group, including Adam, were taking photos outside the venue and Adam couldn't help to tease,
"What happened with James? Wasn't he supposed to take you out?"
You huffed as you knew he was going to make fun of you "He canceled on me. Go ahead laugh." The second you found out James would be ditching you, you could already hear Adam's nagging voice.
"Damn that's a low blow. You could always do better anyways." he said with genuine.
You side eyed him, hard. "Thanks, I guess."
The rest of the night was lame. All of your friends were dancing with their dates and you were guarding the girl's purses at the table. That was before Adam plopped on the chair next to you.
"Do you wanna dance?" For knowing Adam most of your life you knew he had to joking.
"Nice try Fantilli." you crossed your arms in annoyance.
"I'm being dead serious."
You gave him a disbelieving look and then he said, "C'mon just one song."
He dragged you to the dance floor and as if it were from a movie scene, the upbeat song changed to a slow one just in time.
"Why are you doing this? You're just going to use this against me in the future." you complained
"You know I'm not a monster right?" he softly guided your arms around the back of his neck.
"I'm still questioning." you shivered as he snaked his hands around your waist.
"Just relax." your head naturally fell on his shoulder.
"I mean the sight of you sitting alone at prom was pretty depressing." he jokes like always
"Okay that's it." you pushed his torso away before he reeled you back in.
"I'm kidding. Every girl should have at least one dance at prom." You stared at each other before you place your head on his shoulder again, "Thanks." you whispered.
Prom night wasn't that bad thereafter.
+++
The last time you saw Adam was graduation and the celebratory parties after. Neither of you discussed prom night, not in a teasing manner or a reminiscent matter either.
Your friend influenced you to follow her to umich because her boyfriend at the time was also going there. They didn't last long, but for the start of the year you had each other. It so happens Adam was also attending umich.
"You know Adam plays hockey here right" your friend asks as you've been trying to do homework in the library.
"I'm aware."
"We should go to a home game."
"Of what?" you were concentrated reading an article for class.
"Of hockey obviously."
"Why would we do that?" your eyes still glued to your laptop.
"To support Adam."
You eyes snapped to your friend.
"And his brother, Luca plays here too." she said as if that were the problem.
"Why would I go see a hockey game, especially if Adam is in it."
"You say that as if you despise his existence."
"Well you're not that far from the truth!"
"You know that's a lie. Adam has always been a friend to us, we essentially grew up together."
"Adam made fun of me all through high school and when I went through puberty." you stated flatly.
"That was Adam being Adam. Plus, he turned your prom night around didn't he?"
"He did." you couldn't ridicule him for that night.
"Then things have changed since then. Let's go the next home game and just see him play. He probably won't see us anyway."
You sighed, "Fine."
++
You wore your navy umich beanie for school spirit. When you thought of the last time you talked or even saw Adam it had been months. You didn't want to admit it but the thought of seeing him again made you nervous.
You and your friend walked into the arena with linked arms and found your seats in the surprisingly crowed space.
"Do you even know the general rules of hockey?" you asked your friend
"Nope, but a girl can learn!" she said with a hopeful smile.
Soon enough, you would see number 19 on the ice and it was weird seeing him in this setting. Watching him play and he had no idea you were in the stands following his strides.
You and were friend followed the game along, cheering with the crowd and booing with the crowd. The game you so happened to go to was the same game Adam made a goal. You and your friend were stoked, jumping up and down and screaming. You guys won that game. It was exhilarating, especially since you saw Adam make a live goal.
+
"Okay I will give it to him, that was pretty cool." you rarely complimented him but he deserved it.
"Let's tell him in person! Let's see if we can find him." your friend offered
"Uh no. I didn't agree to that." you quickly declined
"Oh c'mon it will be quick."
You don't know how but y/f/n easily found her way around the backstage of the arena and could sneakily find the back exit. You two waited by the exit waiting for Adam to come out.
"Someone is going to find us and get kick us out." you whispered at your friend.
"Don't look suspicious and we won't."
"As if it's that easy. A security guard is gonna come by and think we're stalkers or something."
"Shush someone is coming." your friend whispered
The two of you could hear footsteps coming around a corner and it was another player, a tall one too. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the two of you awkwardly standing by the door.
"Uh who are you?" he asks
You gave a look to your friend to do the talking, "I'm y/f/n and this is y/n, were friends of Adam and were waiting to congratulate him."
"Wait, you're y/n?" he pointed to you and you nodded.
"The guy never stops talking about you, he should be coming out right now."
Your friend had a huge smile on her face, you on the hand looked dumbfounded. Why the hell would Adam talk about you after not seeing each other for months? You wondered if he was talking shit.
After a few second the tall athlete turns to the hallway, "Hey Adam you have some visitors." he says with a smirk.
Adam turns the corner with a smile, he always has that dumb smile on his face. When his eyes landed on yours his smile impossibly got brighter and to your surprise he ran up to you and bear hugged you.
You grunted when his body impacted you, he pulled away and stepped back admiring the fact that you were standing right in front of him, but also trying to gather his composure.
"Hi" you said with a questioning tone after he hugged you for the first time ever.
"Hi" he said brightly but not as bright before
"Hi y/f/n." he turned to your friend
"Hi Adam" she had a sly smile on face the whole time seeing the scene unfold.
"What are you doing here?" he mainly asked you before your friend could respond
"We thought of seeing you play and supporting you."
"Yeah congrats on the goal." you said with a very small smile.
"You saw my goal?" he asked very enthusiastically
"Yep, it was kind of an empty net but a goal nonetheless." you tried to downplay his work but he saw right through you.
"Yet you came out and saw me play." he had a smirk on his face
"Don't think too highly of yourself Fantilli, it was y/f/n's idea, not mine."
"Still." he whispered between the two of you.
"I'm just going to squeeze past through, I'll see you later." the tall athlete said to Adam before leaving.
"Yeah we should go to y/n, it's getting late and all." your friend tried to end the night as if it were just starting
"Sure" you agreed quickly
"Wait, we should hang out soon. You know like the old days." Adam offered
"Sure Adam, we have your number. Goodnight and congrats again." your friend said as she dragged you through the exit before Adam could get another word in.
+++
"Oh my god, you two are so cute." she said as you walked to the parking lot.
"Please stop with this me and Fantilli narrative, it's never going to happen."
"How can I? Every time you two are together it plays right before my eyes." she says so dramatically
"Adam and I are the bane of each other's existence. The guy doesn't and could never see me in any romantic way. And trust me neither could I." you stated
"You are a foolish girl." your friend whispered to herself. She was going to make this ship happen and prove you wrong.
+++
A few months had passed by and y/f/n's plan was going to be in action very soon.
"So I was thinking the whole gang should come together at my parent's vacation house for the weekend." y/f/n said, "What do you think?"
"Don't these plans usually happen during Spring break?" you asked in a literal sense like you always do.
"Yeah I guess but right before the holidays would be fun too."
"Yeah it does sound fun, we just have to pick a date where everyone is free."
"I already did, everyone is ready and excited." she said calmly.
"Ok...so what weekend is it?" you were shocked that you were the last one to know about these major plans.
"Next weekend, so do your laundry and pack accordingly." she said with a smile on her face
"Okay." you laugh as you think of having a huge sleepover with your friends again
++
You and y/f/n had gotten the house a few hours before the rest would come to pack the fridge with food and necessities.
"So who is exactly coming?" you asked
"Uh just our regular high school group."
"That's four people, six plus you and me. Cool you and me can have our own room if you want." you said
"Yeah but, I kind of invited my ex." she said slowly
"Now why would you do that y/f/n?" you asked in disappointment
"He called me recently and he wanted to talk again so I said yes." she said with a nervous smile on her face
"You already know how I feel about him so I'm not going to bother. Does this mean I will have my own room?" you pondered as you put a gallon a milk into the fridge.
"Actually, I invited Adam too."
You slowly turned to your friend and she still had that nervous smile on her face. You didn't know what to say, you knew she did this on purpose, you were left speechless.
"Before you get mad, this might finally bring you two together."
"Let me stop you there." you faced your palm to her, "No way in hell am I sharing a bed with Adam Fantilli."
"But-" she started before you waved your hand to shut her up.
++
A few hours later, everyone had showed up, even Adam to your demise. The first hour was spent catching up and settling in. Then after dinner y'all played board games and watched a movie. It was the end of the first night and it had been fun but the sleeping arrangements were nagging at you.
"So Adam, you and y/n are left to share a room." y/f/n said with hope in her eyes
"We're not sharing a room." you quickly added.
"y/n/n, it's either sleeping on the cold leather couch or in a comfy room." she demanded
You avoided Adam's gaze the whole night and you couldn't stare at him in this moment, he was probably holding in his laugh.
"Oh c'mon it's only a weekend. I just hope you don't snore too loud." he joked
"y/f/n." you whined as if she was your mother and Adam was a bothersome child, he surely acted like it.
"Adam, I trust you will be nice to y/n/n just this once. Y/n/n you too. Your room is down this way. Goodnight." she quickly said before speed walking to her room.
You heavily sigh and look back at Adam. He still has that stupid smile.
++
"You are too close." you said in the dark tucked under the covers
"Nuh uh, you're the one hogging up all the space."
"You are literally laying down like a fucking star fish. Move over." you pushed him in the torso making him flinch and laugh
"That tickled." He finally curled up like a baby but facing you, clearly flaring his nostrils at your face
"Stop that." You turned facing your back to him.
He followed by turning away to almost falling off the side of the bed. The both of you laid in silence not trying to fall asleep but Adam could feel you shaking.
âAre you cold?â He asked in the dark
âAre you not? Itâs freezing in this house.â You shivered under the blankets
âWe could cuddle to stay warmâ you couldnât see his face but you knew he had a smirk.
You were tired of being a victim to his games so you played along.
âOkayâ you said and moved over to hug his side.
Mr. Confident wasnât so cocky now, in fact as soon you touched him he froze.
âCâmon Fantilli be a man of your word.â You whispered into his bicep. You hear him gulp and the shakiness in his breath. He maneuvered so he could hold you properly and neither of you were cold anymore.
++
When you woke up Adamâs leg was draped over your hip and his arm over your waist. When you gained consciousness to realize the sight you started to freak out.
Without any hesitation you tried to sit up to get away from his touch but he just pulled you back in.
âAdam let go.â
âItâs still cold.â He snuggled into your hair and you found yourself rethinking everything. Was this like prom? Just a convenience for the both of you?
He repositioned the blanket over you two neatly and pulled you closer if possible. Your eyes widened at his behavior, wondering if this was a dream.
âAdam?â
âHm?â You were wondering if he was even awake enough to realize what he was doing.
âWhat are you doing?â
âKeeping you warm.â
âIâm warm now.â
âThanks to me. Now shush and go back to sleep.â
It was still dark outside and you were still tired so you fell back to sleep.
++
This time Adam was up before you. Still cuddling your figure but admiring you sleeping face. He thought you felt his gaze because soon you started to wake up. When your eyes met his, you turned around and he just laughed.
âYou snore, very loudly.â He said like his usual self.
âI do not snore.â You said defensively but still sleepily
You did snore, very rarely, but it was soft snoring not loud at all but he found it adorable.
He started to trace shapes on your back, sending shivers down your spine
âI thought you hated me.â You said in hopes of trying to grasp this morningâs actions
âI never hated you.â
âThen why do you always tease me and make fun of me?â
âThatâs my dumb way of showing affection I guess.â
âShowing affection?â
âYeah, like cuddling you to sleep.â His hand found your waist again ready to pull back into him
âThis is not fair.â Your hand stopped his
âYou canât just treat me like trash my entire life and then butter me up in one night.â You had turned around to face him
âIâm sorry. Getting a reaction out of you was my way of flirting and I know it wasnât right. Can we start over?â His hand found yours
âI think we already did last night.â you admitted.
âI think you forgave me the second you touched me first.â He really couldnât give up his teasing behavior.
âIf anything Fantilli, youâre all talk and you should be embarrassed that I had to make the first move.â You softly pointed your finger into his chest
âYouâre absolutely right. Iâll be better now, no more teasing. Iâll be a man of word starting right now.â he pledge
âGood.â
âCan I kiss you?â
âWow that was blunt.â You giggled at his forwardness
âI want to prove to you that Iâm a man of my word starting as soon as possible. So can I?â His hands had already pulled you closer
âYou may.â

That stupid little red dress. The one you kept pulling down as it hiked up every step you took. That's what the oversized black leather jacket was for; to save the hassle but it didn't do much besides keeping you warm.
That same little red dress is on your bedroom floor, alongside with your black boots and his jeans with the belt still looped in them.
You locked eyes with him that same night in that crowded bar. You would never take him home but they way your makeup held that night and how the dress fitted you, it gave you confidence to do so.
It was difficult to fall asleep right after, the adrenaline had warm your body, too hot to sleep. But after some cooling down and examining his sharp facial features, you fell into a slumber.
+
With a well rested sleep, especially after that night, you woke up early. Fortunately so, you had plans with some friends late morning. You showered and thought of how to remove the man in your bed.
After getting dressed and putting your dress in the hamper, you picked up his discarded clothes from last night and messily folded them and chucked them at his bare back.
"Wakey wakey, no bakey." you sarcastically said in a loud enough voice to wake the nameless stranger. You were sure he had told you his name but had forgotten.
The nameless stranger stirred and moaned as he flipped over under the sheets. He rubbed his eyes trying to focus on your dressed self at the foot of the bed. You could see a smirk creep on his face as he realized what happened last night.
"Get dressed." you demand in a softer voice this time. You made your way to your side of the bed and started to make the bed, prompting him to actually move and get dressed.
"Jeez, no good morning or-" he finally sat up and started to put on his boxers,
"No. I have plans and can't have a stranger in my house." You walked around to start to make his side of your bed.
He stood up towering over you, "you did last night." he said with another smirk of his, his chest was bare and he messed with his belt buckle.
"Not alone in my house." you tilted up to look at him, moving him out of the way with your hips, folding the sheets back over.
You grabbed his shirt and pushed him with it towards the front door,
"I would like to see you again." he said as he quickly slid his shirt over his head,
You laughed, "I'm sure you would, bye bye." you closed and locked the door after him and continued to get ready.
+
The next weeknight you were relaxing after work, eating dinner on the couch watching some tv. As soon as you placed your bowl down, you heard soft knocks at your door.
You looked through the peephole and your eyes widened as you saw the same face of the guy who was in your sheets a few days ago.
You opened the door ajar, "What the hell are you doing here?" your eyebrows furrowed together.
"I wasn't joking when I said I wouldn't mind seeing you again." He stood with his hands in the pocket of his sweatshirt.
"Maybe you don't understand the concept of a one night stand but it usually happens only one night."
He laughed at your explanation, "I know what we did. I'm just saying if you don't mind, we can hang out again."
"I don't want to be in a relationship or even date for that matter." you opened the door more as to where the conversation was going.
"Neither do I." he stated to your surprise.
"Are you implying to be fuck buddies?" you whispered the term as you two were having the conversation in a public hallway.
He struggled to hold back a laugh, "In a few words, yes."
"Okay." you relaxed against the door,
"Okay?" he questioned not understanding your answer,
"Yeah, sure." you agreed to the relation.
"Cool, we should share numbers then." he pulled out his phone and passed it to you. The new contact page had your name typed out in the right box.
"You remember my name?" you looked up at him after typing your number in.
"Yeah, what you don't remember mine?" he joked expecting a laugh but you still couldn't remember his name. He saw the slight worry in your eyes and smiled,
"It's Mat." you passed his phone back and he saved the contact,
"Sorry," you said sheepishly.
"No worries." he said as if he had been embarrassed too. But he kept standing there.
"Do you want to- tonight?" you asked indifferent of his intentions when coming over to your place.
"I mean I wasn't expecting it on my drive over here but I'm down..." he leaned forward onto the doorway.
With his face inches way from yours, you leaned forward, caressing his loose hair strands,
"I'm not. I'm on my period, so goodnight Mat." you pulled away from the tension and slightly pushed his chest away.
âWait. We could still hang, watch a movie or something.â he tried to negotiate but failed,
"Yeah, no. Text me in a week and I should be free, goodnight." you quickly closed the door before he could speak anymore.
+
Mat had given you a full week to meet up again and it was awkward at first on your behalf. The first night with him after the bar really only happened with the help of alcohol but to plan accordingly sober was very different.
He called you, not texted, and gave you the option to see him at his place or yours. You told him yours to lessen the anxiety.
It was silly you thought. Panicking over sleeping with a guy who had already seen you naked. It was probably the fact that he wanted to see you again in that state that made you overthink so much.
But at the end of the night he came, he also came to your place.
And it became a system. He called to see you. You texted to see him. It went on for months of pure sex. Nothing else as you pledged the second time you saw him. But there were moments were he broke his pledge. Moments where he was becoming more of a friend than a fuck buddy.
I.
When he had time the mornings after he was generous to cook you breakfast,
"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey" he mocked you from the first morning. He brought you a plate of a simple but nutritional breakfast and a glass of orange juice to his bed.
You groaned to be woken up but loved the smell of food in the morning, "Is this all for me?" you asked half asleep, reaching for the fork but he pulled the plate away,
"No, actually it's just for me. Your plate is in the kitchen." he deadpanned. Still half asleep you slowly blinked at what he said.
"I'm just kidding," he passed you the fork, "Just a joke because of your lack of hospitality from the first night." you noted he wasn't going to let that go for a while.
"I said I was sorry but that night was different from what we have now." you said before taking a bite of your food.
"I know. It's just fun teasing you." he said softly as he watched you eating his food.
This was from the first weeks. You had kept some walls up because from your standpoint it was all and only sex. But something about Mat forced you to open with him. With a smooth transition, the two of you became friends with benefits from fuck buddies.
II.
Mat found it easy to let your walls down by making you laugh but in other words he teased you, so he laughed at you but it all good and fun when you teased him back.
From the very beginning Mat favored talking over the phone rather than text. For your relationship, texting seemed easier and more practical because you didn't mind him just sending 'are you free?' and that be a sign that he wanted to come over. But no, for him he always wanted to have a long conversation about whatever and end the call with, "okay I'll be on my way soon."
And you always obliged, when you texted first he wouldn't text back but immediately call. So one night you decided to ignore his calls and just text him. You knew it would annoy him so even better for a small joke to play.
y/n
hey are you free after practice?

Incoming call
After you laughed at your own entertainment you finally answered his call, contradicting what you had said.
"I thought you couldn't talk right now." he said through a grin, knowing you were lying.
"I didn't want to talk but you always want to." you admitted
"That's because I like hearing your voice. Although I can hear the sas in your texts just as fine."
"So are you free or not?" you had to get to business before he asked you more questions-
"How was your day?" he asked like always.
You rolled your eyes, "It was fine. Are you free?"
"Mine was pretty good too. Practice went great actually, thanks for asking." he said very sarcastically.
"Mat.'
"Yes?" he said too cheerful
"Are you free?"
"Like right now? Or in a couple of hours. I'm still kind of sweaty. Unless you like that type of stuff-"
Without hesitation you ended the call. Not that you were mad, just a bit annoyed but you knew it would make Mat desperate leaving him high and dry.
mat
Missed call
You kept declining his incoming calls and didn't bother to text because if he did want to see you tonight he would eventually text.
mat
I'll be there in an hour

III.
A different morning you felt him twirling your hair in his hands,
"What are you doing?" you muttered into his cold sheets
"Trying to braid your hair." he whispered back, fully focused on trying to figure out a pattern.
"Don't. You'll just knot it even more." He didn't give up until a minute later because he was in fact knotting your hair.
You turned around after you felt his hands drop,
"Can you teach me?" he asked
"Youtube it." you whispered with your eyes closed
"I'll learn quicker from you." you felt his hands lightly touch your cheek making you lock eyes with him.
You quickly maneuvered to pull him in by the back of his neck. He smirked awaiting for a kiss, but you pulled his shaggy hair causing him to squeal,
"Ow?! that hurt." his eyes turned sad with his pouted lips,
"I just wanted to see how long your hair is. Not long enough to braid." you massaged the back of his head to soothe the pain.
You sat up straight and pulled your hair forward to slowly teach him a three strand braid. After a what felt like forever he kind of got it.
IV.
Overtime Mat broke your walls completely and you enjoyed every second talking and being with him but there were moments that brought you back to reality. The reality of what the relationship was.
It was Valentines day and you hadn't thought anything major about it. Mat would be busy that night like he mentioned before so you would spend it alone.
If he was free he would spend the night like always but you thought it would be weird to buy him something because you're only friends as you reminded yourself many times. You didn't expect anything from him either.
But he took you by surprise by showing up at your door with a huge bouquet of roses and your favorite chocolate.
"What are those?" you asked baffled from your door
"Rosses and chocolate obviously." he said with a smile
"I thought you said you were busy tonight." you still couldn't believe he actually got you something.
"I lied. I wanted to surprise you."
"Well I'm surprised!" you finally moved to let him in, taking the abnormally large bouquet of flowers to place them on your table,
"I didn't get you anything." you admitted waiting to see his disappointment,
"That's fine. I assumed you expected nothing but I still wanted to get you something. Being with you tonight is enough." he walked towards you and kissed you. It was a different kind of kiss than all the ones you shared before. This one felt genuine and not of lust. It was slow and as he deepened the kiss he was careful to not be so rough.
You felt your heart twang and your stomach fill with anxiety like from the very first nights. Even though you reciprocated with every motion in your body, you pushed him away. You stared up at him questioning everything that had happened to lead up to this moment,
"I'll make it up to you," you tried to change your train of thought.
"How?" he had that smirk on his face again
"Don't act dumb." you began to push him towards your bedroom,
"Wait, what about your chocolate?" as if he cared about the damn chocoalte.
"We can eat it after."
You had to change the scenery quickly to avoid those thoughts. You tried to excuse his behavior as him being nice but you knew too well it was more than that.
"Here's your chocolate, my sweets," he bowed to you in your bed. He had never used an endearing nickname before but you let it slide like all the other things.
"Thanks," he climbed back into your bed taking a piece for himself,
"So I was thinking," he said while chewing,
"Oh that's not good." you joked,
"Ha ha" he sarcastically laughed, "You should come to one of my games. I can get you a good view and maybe you'll like it."
You swiftly gasped almost choking on your chocolate, "Me at your game?"
"That is what I said, yes." he cleaned some chocolate off your lips with his thumb, catching you off guard.
"Okay, sounds fun I guess." you said with very clear uncertainty.
"Doesn't sound like fun,â he laughed at your nerves but reassured you, "I want you to see me play in person, it's only one game. And if you don't like it or we lose miserably I'll make it up to you."
"How will you make it up to me?" you smirked to yourself,
"Don't act dumb." he whispered into your ear, kissing your cheek and neck making you squirm.
Moments like these, filled with bliss made you forget all your worries. But the hours before the actual game, your nerves sank back in.
You dressed accordingly and sat in the stands trying to follow the game. Seeing Mat distinguished by his number felt surreal almost. It was a side of Mat you didnât indulge in often or at all.
He talked about hockey every now and then but it was very brief. To see him skate as fast as he could was shocking. To see him get slammed into the boards was more than shocking but concerning.
You were alone in your seat. Trying to follow the quick pace game. Looking around at the fans with his jersey number. You felt like an outsider even though the player himself had invited you to be there.
When the game ended and the Islanders had won you werenât bored. You were glad you saw Mat play in person and see the team win. Mat gave you instructions where to meet him after the game.
After some wrong turns and almost giving up trying to find the locker room, you found a sweaty Matt walking in the halls,
âHey you made it!â he jogged up to you for a quick hug and a quick kiss. Another action of Matt that surprised you. The two of you never kissed in public.
âI want you to meet some of my teammates.â His body radiated of excitement and giddiness.
âSure,â you agreed with fake excitement. You were definitely not expecting such socialization with Mattâs close friends.
He introduced you to his teammates as a âgood friendâ with an arm wrapped around you the whole time. The whole situation was nauseating. His teammates were kind but the whole thing was very confusing; as to what this introduction was or what you and Matt were.
You were able to end the introductions early when you told Matt you didnât feel good, which wasnât that far off from the truth,
âAre you okay to drive home?â he asked
âYeah Iâm just have a bad headache.â
âOkay Iâll see you tonight then?â Matt had planned to be with you after the game but you felt it would be better to have some time alone,
âActually I think Iâll go asleep alone tonight. Iâm just worn out.â you tried your best to lie and it barely worked.
âOkay Iâll call tomorrow.â You hum in agreement before almost running out of that arena.
On the drive home you felt your heart beat faster than you ever felt before. Things were getting too real you said to yourself in the car.
You and Matt had promised since the very beginning that this wouldnât be anything more. But that promise had long been broken. You knew things had to slow down or stop completely, but only one of those options were possible.
+
You thought it would be best to see him at his place rather than your own. So you called him,
âY/n calling me? It canât be.â He joked
âMat can I see you later tonight?â You asked in all seriousness ignoring his joke,
âYou know you can y/n.â
âGreat Iâll see you later.â You kept the call short, ignoring his calls right after.
When he opened his door for you, he cradled your face and smothered you with kisses. Something he sometimes did when he was in a happy mood.
You hated yourself for what you were about to do,
âMatt we need to talk,â you pushed him away only to see him lean in again, âWhat? Is it about the game? I thought I had pretty good night. What did you think?â
You despised how your eyes started to tear up but you kept a straight voice,
âWe need to end this.â
âWhat?â He laughed as if he didnât hear you correctly.
âWhatever this is. Things are getting too personal. They have been for weeks now and I shouldâve been more persistent but I am now.â
âWhat are you talking about?â His hands dropped from your arms to his sides,
âWhatever this was is over.â
âThis is over? Just like that?â He scoffed starting to become agitated, he didnât understand where this was coming from,
âYeah how else would you end a fuck buddy relationship?â You retaliated in attitude and nerves.
âBut this isnât a fuck buddy relationship! Not when Iâm love with you!â
Mat never failed to surprise you but you should have seen this coming.
âYou donât mean that.â you unconsciously replied.
âThe fuck I donât!â His frustration was making things difficult so you had lied next,
âThereâs someone else.â You tried to hold eye contact to make things believable but Mat knew better,
âWho?â
âYou donât know him.â
âSo you see commitment in this âguyâ but not with me? The man youâve been fucking with the past months.â
âThatâs all it was Mat, it was just sex.â
âThats bullshit! Youâre telling me that you donât feel anything more for me than just a fuck buddy?â His eyes looked dark with sadness and tears welling up,
âI told you from the beginning that I wanted nothing more. You promised too.â You lowered your voice to lessen the awful tension.
âWell I guess I broke that promise.â He stood there waiting for you say something but you didnât know what else to say. So he broke the silence,
âY/n, Iâm in love with you.â his voice wavered,
âMat.â
âI love you and youâre scared of being with me fully but I can wait because I donât believe there is another guy.â
âMat stop.â
âIâve been in love with you probably since the very beginning and Iâll still love you for a long time.â He rambled trying to reach for your touch but you had to conclude things.
âMat, I donât love you.â You said harshly to get your point across.
You moved his arms from reaching yours, âThere is another guy and I need to keep my options open while Iâm young. You should too.â
âIâm sorry.â You whispered leaving his apartment.
+
It had been weeks when you broke his heart. He didnât give up even after that horrible fight. He continued to call and text. He even showed up to your place but kept silent.
You tried to not cry for him or the ended relationship. It wasnât fair or right but it had to be done. Thatâs at least what you told yourself every night before going to asleep.
Mat would find someone better and move on. It would be like nothing ever happened between you two. Just lost in history.
He eventually stop calling and showing up at your door. It was the first steps to finally moving on you told yourself.
âWhoâs âMâ?â Your friend had pulled you from your thoughts.
âHuh?â You were making dinner for your guest as it was rare to have her over.
âThis.â She showed you the polaroid. It was the polaroid Mat had toke of you one of your mornings.
~~~
âStop snooping.â You watched him walking around your room, observing your shelves and tables.
âIâm not snooping. Just looking.â He grabbed the white polaroid you had gotten as a gift from your shelve.
âNow youâre touching.â You said from the comfort of your bed,
âSay cheese.â He climbed over you to take a picture,
âItâs too early for a photoshoot.â You held your hands up blocking the lens,
âCâmon just one photo,â be begged trying to move your hands,
âI donât feel pretty.â You pulled your comforter above your face,
He leaned down to slowly pull down the comforter, âYou always look pretty,â he whispered as he softly kissed you.
Catching you off guard he took a quick shot of you smiling. He wrote the date and his initial in sharpie after snooping in your desk.
~~~
âHeâs just some guy.â You say nonchalantly avoiding the possible topic.
âDid he take this picture?â Of course she asks,
âYeah he did.â You replied,
âThis isnât the same guy from that bar right?â You didnât tell her much about Mat. Just that you were seeing someone very casually.
âHe is actually, or was.â You tried to focus on the chopped vegetables rather than the sad eyes Mat looked at you with.
âWhat do you mean was?â She persisted and you gave in explaining everything.
âHold up. This guy obviously cares about you, even told you that he loves you and you turned him down?â
âThis is why I didnât tell you everything.â
âBecause you donât want to hear the truth that this guy loves you. Love. The things everybody wants. And you just give it up like that.â
âHe wasnât supposed to fall in love with me!â
âWhy the hell not!? He had every reason to. Do you love him?â You hated how she asked the most difficult yet important questions.
âI donât know.â You said half heartedly.
âYou donât know.â Her eyes pierced yours as you kept lying to yourself and others over and over again.
âIt would never work me and him! He has a busy schedule and-â you start the excuses,
âOh but not busy enough to fuck each other!â
âY/n be real. Letâs put the lies and excuses away. Why canât you let yourself be happy for once while you have the chance?â
âYou donât understand. I broke his heart. I saw it in his face when I told him I didnât love him. I donât deserve to see him again or to ask for another chance.â
âWell I think everyone deserves a second chance. And if he truly loves you, he can understand your point of view.â
She forced you to see him again. You still couldnât see why you should let yourself be happy even after breaking his heart. But you were on your way to his place with the same pit of anxiety in your stomach.
You didnât call or text before to see if he was home. You didnât want him to decline your request before seeing him in person, so you knocked on his door.
The moment he opened the door your heart ached. His face was visibly sad and his eyes red. You wanted to run away again but you couldnât feel anything but pity and guilt.
âCan I come in?â
âSureâ His voice was deep and raspy. His face lacked emotion except when he saw you, he didnât think he would see you again.
The silence of the apartment was deafening and uncomfortable, but you took a seat on his couch, signaling him to do the same.
âMat, I am so sorry for the things that I said and did throughout everything. I didnât mean any of it.â
You paused to collect your shaky breath and thoughts,
âYouâre right. I am scared to be with you fully because youâre the most important and life changing thing that has happened to me and it terrifies me. From the beginning I only wanted something simple with no strings attached but then everything started to become so real without us even discussing it! I canât blame you for treating me like how any girl dreams to be treated, I just wish we had slowed down and talked about things first and then maybe I wouldnât have lied about there being someone else. Because there isnât, I mean how could there be when youâve been always by my side? What im trying to say is that if somehow you donât hate me, hopefully we can start again?â
You could hear your pulse banging in your ears when he didnât say anything. He just looked at you indifferently but still with those red eyes.
âYouâre right too. I was in the wrong to continue things like we were official and not talk about it. I should I have said something earlier before I asked you to meet the guys. Maybe before Valentineâs Day too, that was probably a surprise.â He laughs at his lighthearted joke to soothe the tension, making you laugh too with tears falling down your face.
âYou brought me a bouquet the size of a tire, so I was a little bit surprised.â
Both you laughed at how ridiculously huge those flowers were but of how sweet the gesture was. Mat broke the sweet silence with a question that had been left unanswered,
âY/n, do you love me?â
You sympathized for him, the look of sincerity and incandescent love he had for you. You nod your head with a tearful smile.
He breaked into glossy eyed smile as he reached over to embrace and kiss you. A replica, but somehow better, kiss of the Valentineâs Day one. A slow but passionate kiss of pure adoration and love. He pulled away after what felt enough for now,
âI have to hear you say it though,â he states
âSay what?â You licked your lips eyeing his before meeting his eyes,
He slightly cocked his head to the side, âDonât act dumb.â
âI love you, Mathew Barzal.â

Love Is A Losing Game
Imagine
Quinn Hughes x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n has a crush on Quinn for months now and she finally sees a chance to tell him at a holiday party.
cw: mentions of getting high, mentions of drinking, cussing, sad unrequited love, angst + smidge of fluff ig
a/n: This is my failed attempt at writing pure angst. Brock x reader if you read in between the lines. quinn's gf in this story is someone I made up. Lowkey rushed and quick
+
"Are you absolutely sure he doesn't like you?"
Your friend from your hometown had came to visit you in Vancouver. She decided the first night she was going to spend here was to get high and try face masks.
"Well I'm not 100% sure, but realistically no, he doesn't see me that way."
Her visitation couldn't have come any sooner, you needed to talk about your Quinn problems with her in person.
"Then I don't I like him already." she said
"Quinn is a nice and sweet guy, he's just never made a move or hinted that he likes me more than a friend." you adjusted your mask, "actually I don't even think we are that close of friends."
"That sucks." she leaned back into her seat on the couch
"Thanks for the help." you scoffed at her calmness
"Well you can confess to him and it could or could not go well. It's your life."
"A complicated life." you finished what she wanted to say. She gave you a sad smile through her white face mask.
"You're phone is ringing. Here, it's Brock" she passed you your phone, "Hey isn't Brock the cute blonde one?" you gave her a quizzing, "I guess." you whispered before picking up the call
"Hey B"
"Hey y/n/n, are you busy this Saturday?"
Brock is the one who introduced you to Quinn. Well the team and of course Quinn was there. Brock became a close friend when you first moved to Van.
"Maybe, my friend visited from y/ht/n this week and we might have plans, why?"
"There's this holiday party one of the guys is hosting, it's a family and friends thing. You're invited" he said of the other line
"Uh give me a sec" you turned to your friend to ask her if she was okay with this party, she mouthed "let's go"
"Can my friend come along?"
"Yeah sure"
"Okay cool just tell me when and where"
"Will do, goodnight y/n/n."
"Goodnight B."
Your friend ripped her face mask off as got all excited, "A holiday party? Are you kidding?"
"No?"
"Oh my god, do you know what this means?"
"That it's a holiday party." you stated falty.
"Yes and there will me a mistletoe. You can make your move on Quintin!"
"First, don't call him that it sounds weird. Second, I'm not going to my boldly confess my feelings by kissing him under the mistletoe.â
âYou have no idea, it could be a scene from a Christmas Hallmark movie!â
âOh how I wish my love life was like a Hallmark movie, but no.â
++
When you first met Quinn, he was shy and self reserved which made your heart fall faster for him. You didnât know why your type was guys like Quinn, but it was rare to see them be as kind as him.
For months you kept this crush a secret from everyone besides your friend. Even Brock, who would have just teased you. But you figured it had been long enough to not do anything. Maybe this party could finally be it, that is if heâs even there.
++
âBrock is this y/f/n, y/f/n this is Brock.â You introduce two of your great friends to each other when you stepped into the casual party.
They said hi to each other, while your friend had too bright of a smile on her face for staring at a man sheâd just met.
âYou dress niceâ you complimented Brockâs button down and slick back hair that was already coming undone
âThanks, you look great too.â To be honest, you didnât feel that good about your appearance but y/f/n tried to convince you otherwise.
âThereâs appetizers and food in the kitchen if yâall are hungryâ he offered to take you and y/f/nâs coats and led the way to the kitchen.
It was stilly pretty early and you didnât want to ask Brock if Quinn was here so you made rounds introducing your friend to the people you knew.
She would leave you to yourself though an hour into the night. You were getting antsy if Quinn was going to show up at all, so you decided to look for your friend. She was sitting on the couch with Brock by the fireplace, all smiley and giggly.
If anything, you thought, she was having a scene from a Hallmark movie.
It was too cold outside to get away from the social gathering so you found a closed off dinning room to sit in silence in.
It was unnerving to sit alone in silence when across a door there were people talking and Christmas music playing.
Y/f/n was wrong. Tonight was not a Hallmark movie, itâs a very depressing one.
âOh hey, I didnât expect to see you hereâ
You turned to the door and saw Quinn, also dressed nice in a black button down.
âBrock invited meâ you answered his statement
âOh I mean in this room. I assumed you would be at the party. Why are hanging out in here?â He walked towards you and pulled out a chair right next to you.
âSo much talking that I would rather not doâ you laugh nervously and he laughed too, rarely showing that smile of his.
âYeah I get that. I just got here and immediately tried to hide.â Your heart skipped as you read into your common personalities but you sighed looking away from him.
âWhatâs up?â He asked taking notice of your sad demeanor
You couldnât help but let out a chuckle, âjust boy problems, very boring stuff.â you joke
âWell Iâm not that good at advice but I could listen for the dramaâ he jokes too making you laugh
âThereâs this guy, that I like but Iâm pretty sure he doesnât like me back. But I donât know for sure or anything so Iâm thinking I should just tell him but if I did and he said he doesnât feel the same way then I would feel like an idiot.â you confessed inconspicuously as possible.
âIs he someone on the team?â He asked too calmly
âNo heâs from my work.â you tried to lie as smooth as possible and luckily it went unnoticed
âWell personally I wouldnât tell himâ you turned to look at him, âI wouldnât tell a girl I liked her if I knew for sure she didnât like me. The fear of being rejected is very real and it hurts. But I also think any guy would be dumb to not like you.â
You felt your face start to warm up and hoped it didnât show, âYouâre a good friend, Quinnâ You said with a small smile
âThanksâ he whispered âI try.â he said before making you laugh again
âWhat hell are you guys doing in here? Itâs a party, you guys need to mingle and talk with people!â Brockâs loud voice echoes in the dinning room as his eyes look between the both of you.
âWeâre not very mingling type of people.â You joke to your friend who looks like he has had a couple drinks now
âNo duh. Huggy I need your help in the kitchen man.â
Quinn got out of his chair and turned to you, âIâll see you around tonightâ he says with a soft smile before being manhandled by the blonde.
You sat in the dinning room for a couple more minutes thinking about what Quinn said. Yes, rejection sucks but what he said about a guy being dumb to not like you. Was he hinting at himself?
+
You looked around the big house to find y/f/n again to tell her what happened but she was nowhere to be seen. So you found Brock instead,
âHey B have you seen y/f/n?â
âWho?â Yeah he was a bit drunk.
âMy friend who I came here with.â
âOh yeah her, yeah no clue. I was talking to her on the couch earlier, sheâs very flirtyâ He slurred
âYeah thatâs her, sorry about that.â you apologized for your friends bold behavior and left to circle the house again to find her.
You finally see her by the base of the staircase to the side. You smile as youâre about to run and tell her everything except when you saw Quinn on the base of the stairs with a girl, standing very close to the girl.
You watch them smile at each other. How his head hangs when he blushes and her arms wrapped around his neck. Your eyes follow hers and she looks above them, a mistletoe. Your smile drops and your body freezes as you see them smile and lean in for a kiss.
âPDA am I right? Disgusting.â Brock who had followed you from before saw the whole thing unfold. Even though your senses were going haywire you tried to keep calm
âYeah, gross.â you whispered, âwhoâs she?â you tried to ask without it sounding like you were on the verge of tears
âQuinnâs girlfriend I guessâ you felt your heart ache and a lump start to form in your throat, âoh, youâve never seen her before?â you choke out
âNah, I think this is their first public appearance.â Brock turned to look at you, even though he was inebriated he would always remember how glossy your eyes looked in that moment.
Your eyes were glued on the couple. Your friend was right, a scene from a Hallmark movie did happen tonight. It just didnât involve you.

Hot Stuff
Imagine
Nico Hischier x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n and friends go out to a 80s theme night club because why not.
cw: drinking
a/n: this is very âcheesyâ, very movie magic, does not happen in real life
+++
You were dressed in boot cut jeans with black booties and a satin button up blouse, with the top buttons unbuttoned.
âDo I or do I not look hot?â Your friend walks into your room posing in her 80s themed skimpy outfit.
âYou look hot.â You say with lack of emotion as you zipped up your boots.
âWow thanks I really believed you there.â She nudges your shoulder and looks at both of your reflections in the mirror.
âI look hot. You look hot. So cheer up and letâs go to the kitchen, everyone is taking pre gamers!â She hugs your shoulders tightly before joining the rest outside.
âIâm not drinking tonight!â she was long gone to hear. You werenât much the drinker, other nights you would participate but tonight seemed better sober.
You walk out to the kitchen to see everyone in their get up and truth be told everyone did look hot.
âCmon y/n/n! Take at least one shot!â
âYeah how do you expect to dance tonight without being intoxicated?â
One of your friends was right, to dance to 80s jams without any alcohol in your system seemed futile.
âAlright,â You swished the drink down and the Uber was ready to pick you guys up.
+++
To your surprise the club had a lot more people than first to be expected. There were many madona blondes and Michael Jackson thrillers. It was the month of October, so in a way tonight was kind of a Halloween celebration.
As soon as you and your friends walked in, one dragged all of you to the bar, swiftly ordering tonightâs meal.
So much for not drinking, because before you knew it youâre three beers in, starting to feel inebriated, dancing your heart out with friends to Hot Stuff by Donna Summers.
âI need some hot stuff baby tonight!â Your friend screams.
âI need some hot stuff baby this evening!â You scream.
Screaming horribly pitched singing and dancing but having the time of your life in this moment. You and your friend laugh at your guyâs antics.
âIâm gonna get a beer! You want something?â You yell
âIâm good!â
As much fun and liberating dancing is, itâs a goddam workout. Surely alcohol will keep you hydrated.
+++
âIâve never seen Top Gun.â Nico stares at Jack whose holding a green aviator jumpsuit for him. An exact replica of whatâs heâs wearing with a white t-shirt under and sunglasses propped on his head.
âI know but we will look cool together, like maverick and goose.â
âWhat the hell is a maverick?â
âJust put the suit on.â Jack throws the suit towards Nico and pushes him to change.
Nico walks out twining like his teammate, with his sunglasses on.
âHell yeah, Iâm maverick and your goose.â Jack says all excited.
âOkay.â Nico states blandly.
âWeâll watch the movie after tonight so you can understand. Now letâs go and boogie.â
âShouldâve watched it before tonightâ Nico murmured.
+++
Nico wasnât one to go out and dance, especially not a decades theme dance. But here he is standing in the corner of the club because his friend dragged him to dress up as pilots. When he first walked in he admired everyoneâs costumes and understood most 80s references, the music on the other hand was interesting to say the least
Itâs 80s music, itâs hard to not stomp to the beat. Jack was somewhere else, probably talking to one of the madonas in the building, and Nico just people watching while sipping his drink.
Then the beat of the music started to kick up and his eyes caught on two girls dancing and singing the lyrics of the song. He couldnât help but laugh at the site, not in a bad way but in awe as he saw people having fun. Maybe he should have fun tonight too.
+++
As the bartender brings you another beer, Donnaâs melody comes to an end and the classic slow song of the 80s begins.
ââŠmy foolish lover's game,â you mouth to sing along right before you take a swig.
You turn to see couple gathered at the floor swaying to the music and you couldnât help to sway as well, it really is something about 80s music!
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
You decide to people watch as you cater your glass bottle and your eyes land a pair of brown eyes across the room as the chorus lands.
Take my breath away
You and this annoyingly handsome man who is ironically dressed in an aviator outfit, hold eye contact as the chorus ends.
You being the first to break eye contact, turn to the bar and talk to yourself, âwhat the hell was that.â
+++
That was weird, Nico thinks to himself. He didnât notice as he was people watching, his eyes followed on one of the girls that were dancing to the bar.
They held eye contact what seemed like forever with the slow song blasting through the room. Nico hiccups his beverage and looks to find Jack.
+++
One of your friends finds you at the bar,
âAll these couples make me gross and sad for being single.â She leans her head on your shoulder.
âI think I fell in love with an aviator.â You yell calmly.
âHuh?â Youâre drunken friend asks
âLike from Top Gun, I donât know if he was maverick or goose but what just happened was too real to ignore.â You say looking forward replaying the moment back and forth in your head.
âWeâll where is he!?â
You quickly turn around to see if heâs still there but heâs gone now. You scan the dark room for his green jumpsuit but to no avail.
âHeâs gone now.â You thought to yourself maybe you imagined things.
âWait I see him!â Your petite friend points out an aviator but itâs not him.
âThatâs not him, he was taller.â You sulk
Then the other half pops into view, the maverick you held eyes with taps on gooseâs shoulder to talk with and again makes eye contact with you and they both look in your direction.
âTheyâre looking at you.â Youâre friend whispers as if they could heard across the loud room.
âI know.â You grit and make a gesture to the boys to follow you off side the dance floor.
âFollow me,â you demand as you drag your short friend to meet the men.
+++
âHi ladiesâ the shorter aviator says as he styles his sunglasses on top his hair.
You and your maverick still continue this unofficial game of holding eye contact and observing one anotherâs style and presence.
âYours guyâs costumes are so cute.â You drunken-tired friend says, making you lose this round of the game.
âYeah let me guess, are you goose and heâs maverick?â You ask the dark blonde
Heâs taken back as he stutters to correct you, âactually Iâm mav and heâs goose, itâs not oficial or anything.â He mutters the last part.
Your mouth makes an O shape to understand but kept to yourself that the man directly in front of you looked more like a maverick than a goose.
âY/n Im gonna find the girls, I think the night is coming to an end, at least for me.â She covers up her yawn
âOkay Iâll be there in a bit.â She leaves you with the duo
âIâm y/n by the wayâ you extend your hand to your maverick, curious of his name.
âIâm Nicoâ he shook your hand softly but noticed your strong grip.
Both of you stand in awe in one another, rethinking of the eye contact and the tension across the busy room.
A forced cough could be heard, âyeah Iâm Jack.â A quick second passed before you turned to acknowledge the blonde, âhiâ you swiftly say before locking eyes again with Nico.
Jack stands beside you two with googling eyes, âOkay then, Iâm gonna go back to the dance floor.â
No one heard Jackâs dismissal.
âThat song, the song we made eye contact with, a bit ironic isnât it?â You ask looking up at the gorgeous man.
âWhy is it ironic?â
You started to slightly panic, âbecause youâre dressed as a pilot from Top Gun, are you not?â
âOh yeah I guess I am. Is the song in the movie?â Nico tilted his head in curiosity
âThe song is the movie. You never seen Top Gun?â You ask in bewilderment
âNo, jack made me dress like this to match him. I still donât know what a maverick is.â He laughs nervously
âMaverick is the nickname for the main character, essentially. You should watch the movie, itâs good.â
âMaybe we could watch it togetherâ Nico shyly but boldly says as he scratches the back of his neck
You were stunned at his boldness but didnât let it show. A smile crept up on your face and you nod your head, âI would love to see it with you.â
a/n: lazy ending but I tried.

Jack Hughes x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n rushes to help her friend and accompany her to a masquerade themed ball but bumps into Narcissusâ incarnate.
a/n: prompt inspired by this: lovers trope. 3.9k wordsđ” Jack is depicted as an ego-typical guy with too much rizz đ„Ž, an important background character's name is "Em" fyi, themes & discussion about love and fate đ§
cw: cussing, reader brings up unhinged hypothetical situation about a kidnapping and a shooting đ, mentions of cheating , I think thats it
+
It was a warm evening to start the preparation of getting dressed for a ball and it only got more chaotic as the sun set. You slept through your alarm and had to rush to shower, eat breakfast, buy gas to drive to pick up you and your friend's elegant dresses, and finally drive over to the venue.
To your poor planning, parking was clearly not available. You cringed as your freshly bought gas was idling as you kept weaving through the small lot. Almost half an hour goes by as you find a white car backing out and you quickly turn to claim it's spot until a small black car inches close as possible to take the free spot,
"Don't you fucking dare," you yelled to yourself in your car. As soon as the white car drove off, the black car pulled in, in reverse. You honked for a few seconds and tried to get a good look at the theif but couldn't make out a face.
"What an asshole, I hate people." You whined to yourself and finally decided to park farther away to at least enter the venue in time.
+
"Where the hell have you been?" your friend with her hair up in heating rolls approaches you and sees your face glisten in sweat
"Everything that could wrong today went wrong. Here's your dress." you handed her dress and reached for your water bottle, the walk from your car to the venue in the sun wasn't ideal.
"Why are you sweating?" she grimaced as she wiped your forehead with a tissue,
"Because some asshole stole my parking, so I had to park farther away and walk all the way here."
"Oh, well sit down and try not to sweat as much. Ashely's going to start on your hair." she passed you a mini fan to cool down but at this point you were defeated and didn't want to get dolled up for something you were forced to attended.
"Are we doing makeup as well?" Ashley the hired makeup artist indirectly asked you through your friend
"Yes" your friend said
"No" you said
"It's a ball y/n, you have to wear makeup." she complained to you
"Can't we do something natural? No smokey eye, I mean I'm wearing a mask aren't I so what's the point?"
"The point is to look good to take pictures and if a man is lucky enough, to see you bat your lashes at him." your friend always tried to set you up with someone.
"A natural but classy look, Ashley, nothing too glamorous." you made eye contact with Ashley through the vanity mirror.
"Got it"
Ashley did what you asked and you started to feel better about the night and more confident, she even added a bold red lip to y/f/n's request.
"Here" your friend handed you a black laced mask, the main reason you agreed to attend the ball; the anonymity of it all was intriguing to you. The mask matched with your long silk dress but it wasted on by helping passing drinks around. You didn't plan to but once the night started to get boring you figured to do anything else.
"Y/n what the hell are you doing?" your friend sees you for the third time the night talking to an older couple after offering them champagne,
"Excuse me," you guided your friend with the empty tray of drinks away "Learning about Paul's and Anne's love story."
"I didn't hire Ashley to do your hair and makeup to talk to the elderly-especially passing out drinks. You're supposed to be finding a guy to dance with." she nagged on you
"Is it sad that it's easier to talk to old people about love rather than with a boy my age?" you jokingly asked but knew the answer
"Very. And concerning." She gave you a deadpanned look, "Here, give me this and find someone." she took the plastic tray from your hands,
"Everyone has a mask on, so what's the point?"
"The point is to talk with a boy your age even if he's ugly or not." well she was blunt for sure.
"Well that's a bit harsh."
She holds you by the shoulders, "Look y/n, I truly want the best for you and you don't know when the love of your life can appear-" she slowly guides you backwards, "You are going to make me fall if you don't let go of me." "And who knows he might appear tonight-" she completely ignores your concerns as you trip on the trail of your dress falling into the arms of a stranger.
You curse her name as you fall into sturdy arms, your eyes meet with dark ones behind a mask, "Are you alright?" the stranger asks before you quickly stand up straightening your dress out,
"Yeah, I'm so sorry my friend-" you turn to blame your friend to see her back walking away from the scene,
"She- I didn't mean to bump into you, she sort of pushed me, sorry." you looked up to the dark haired man in the low lighting.
"It's fine. I'm just glad I caught you in time" he chuckled, "Do you want to dance?" he asked with his hand out,
"Sure" y/f/n's wish was coming true.
"I saw you passing out drinks, didn't feel like dancing?" his hand reached for your waist and you began to sway together to a slow song,
"Not after the day I had, no."
"What happened?" you briefly summarized your day and mentioned the person who stole your parking spot and he laughs,
"I'm glad my stressful day makes you laugh," you say giggling along,
"It's not your miserable day that's funny but that asshole who stole your spot might have been me..." he says scrunching his face in preparation. Your smile and shoulders drop,
"So its your fault that I had to walk half a mile carrying ball gowns in the sun."
"It's possible, yeah." he said calmly holding back a smile
âYou owe me for making my day worse then.â
âI donât think so, and Iâm pretty sure that spot was mine firstâ he said with confidence
âYou are joking. I had my blinker on before you even showed up!â His teasing was making you a bit irritated
âWhatever you say,â he stops to think of what to call you, âcan I ask for you name?â
âNo.â you state flatly
âWhy not?â He scoffs
âA thief like you, doesnât deserve to know my name.â you found joy stringing a man's patience.
"Well I'm Jack."
"I didn't ask."
"But you were wondering, weren't you." he cocked his head to the side, eyeing you through each other's masks,
"Nice ego you have there. I wasn't wondering," you most definitely were, "You know not every girl is falling over after you." you looked right back into his eyes to observe them being a dark blue color.
"I mean you kind of did, literally.â to be fair you did kind of set yourself up for that one.
âThatâs because my friend pushed me, don't get me wrong."
"It's y/n." you got lost in your train of thought as you stared into his eyes, "Screw your perfect blue eyes" you whispered knowing it would inflate his ego any possibly more,
"So you are falling for me?" a smug look painted on his face.
"You know what's funny? My friend said I might find the love of my life tonight if I actually made an effort. Do you think me, accidentally, falling into your arms counts as- I don't know whatever she claims love's rules are?"
"Are you saying, you accidentally falling into my arms is fate talking?" to your surprise he didn't scare off running at the talk of love, but he took interest in your wonderment if love and fate were real and or connected.
"You said it, not me." you shied your head down
He chuckles, "I think your effort of dressing nice with red lipstick can possibly set things into motion" his hand softly reaches for your chin making you meet his eyes again.
He breaks the silence, "Will you be my date to this wedding?"
"Excuse me?" you turned your head in confusion this time, the conversation turning from love to weddings was a startle.
"There's this wedding I'm invited to and you dress nice so why not be my date for it?" he asks so calmly
You laugh at his request, âI barely know you. I donât even know what you look like. Letâs say if I left with you tonight and you kidnap me but I escape, because I have enough survival skills to do so, and then the police do a line up but then I realize I donât even know what you look like. We're not at a very trustworthy level are we?"
He was taken aback at your ramble, âWow um alright, I guess not. But you thought of leaving with me tonight?â and of course he only focused on the first part.
âIt was a hypothetical situation." you tried to reason your overthinking, "No because I donât know what you look like.â
âItâs a masquerade ball, itâs breaking the rules if you were to see my face.â he said
âI'm sure the servers are not going to shoot you down if you reach to take off your maskâ you joke trying to sneak a peek at the full picture of the man you have been dancing with the past minutes.
Unfortunately he can joke too, âYou can never be too sure.â he leans into to whisper giving you goosebumps.
You grab the nape of his neck to pull his closer, your cheek grazing his to whisper, âThen you have no date.â
An older lady interrupts the shared moment asking to dance with Jack, "He's all yours." you smile to the woman and back at Jack before turning away,
"Y/n, wait!" Jack pleads as the woman blocks his view of your figure.
You walk back to your friend who was watching from afar,
"Okay, so what happened? Ya'll danced for awhile!"
"Well he's the asshole that stole my parking, alongside that he has an ego the size of this ballroom." Jack had charm, you were aware, but if he really did want a date to some wedding he would have to work a bit harder for it.
"I'm done for the night. I obliged with your wishes as I practically fell into a man's arms tonight. Goodnight." you swiftly said before she could argue back.
You glided towards the exit, finally taking off your mask. You stopped by the door looking for Jack one last time. Across bodies of people his eyes catches yours and his body freezes in awe. You hold the contact before he begins to walk again cuing you to leave for once and all.
To your unnoticed, Jack made his way to your friend to ask a very important request.
+ The Next Day +
It was still the weekend, not as hot as the day before, but another warm morning spent in the park as you made a habit out of it. Nothing felt more relaxing and enriching than soaking up vitamin D on a park bench until an interruption,
"Is this seat taken?" a familiar voice ringed in your ears before you caught a glimpse of the man
"I guess not, how did you find me?" Although you didn't recognize him at first glance, his hair and smile were recognizable.
"Y/f/n told me you liked hanging out here in the morning so I woke up early."
You shook your head at your friend's loose trust but shocked at Jack's determination, "Wow you are desperate for that date aren't you?"
"You as my date? Yeah." he exclaimed, "But I saw your face before you saw mine so I think it's only fair that you see mine now."
"It's okay."
"What is?"
"That," you circled the air surrounding his face ensuing him into a chuckle
"So, will you be my date?" he wasn't going to let this go you thought,
"What's in it for me?" you really wanted to see how far he could go
"You get to spend the night by my side and there's free food and bar"
"Seems very convincing," you sarcastically said
"On a real note, I want to get you know better and spend more time with you," he finally said with genuine.
You thought what would be the harm if it's only one evening, even though he was annoying he was cute too,
"Fine, but I'm only saying yes because I can pick you out of a lineup if I need to."
+Later That Night+
Jack shared the details of the wedding, place and time, and he would be kind enough to pick you up. Your attire was not as elegant as the night before but still cute and picture perfect for a summer wedding.
"Oh this is definitely the car that stole my parking." you told Jack leaning on the open passenger window.
"I said I was sorry"
"You know I actually don't remember hearing an apology,"
"Well I am sorry. You look nice," a man of many words Jack was.
"You look the same from last night." you replied to his appearance as you sat in his passenger seat.
"I didn't wear this last night."
"I know," you smirked as you buckled in.
"So whose wedding is this? Are you the bride or groom's side?" you felt like you needed to do some homework before showing up to a random couple's wedding.
"Groom. He's a friend of mine, my family will be there also, but you don't have to meet them."
Your eyebrows scrunched as you wondered what he meant, "I don't see how me being your date and not meeting your family is going to work."
"It doesn't have to be a formal introduction just a quick hello."
"Right," as you guys drove there you couldn't help to cringe on how awkward this was actually going to be. Being Jack's date to an essentially family friend's wedding and meeting his family. You couldn't help to wonder if Jack finding dates to these events was a common occurrence, the guy had the charisma if needed.
It was a relatively quick drive to the outdoorsy venue and the sun was about to set. Jack's chivalry surprised you when he told you to wait in the car to open the passenger door for you,
"To be clear, I'm just your date for the night. You didn't tell people I was your girlfriend or a girl you are seeing right?"
"Geez never had a guy open the door for you, y/n?" he gave his hand to help you step out his car,
You took his hand, "Sorry, but genuine question though, who am I walking in as?"
"We'll say the truth, a new friend of mine, and possibly a girl I'm seeing." he took your arm to link around his,
"I'm not sure if that's the whole truth." you looked up at him as you walked to the entrance
"I know you don't like me that much right now but just give it the night," he gave you an infamous grin of his.
"There goes that ego of yours again."
+
As much as you wanted to find Jack and his perfect smile annoying, you couldn't. Spending the night by his side and hearing him crack bad jokes made you cringe and laugh. He kept you at arm length and included you in conversations. He even offer and eventually forced you to dance with him. His family was sweet too, especially his mom,
"You are dressed so nice sweetheart," Ellen had complimented your summer dress
"And you are very beautiful, Jack is very lucky to have you." she continued the compliments
"She's just a friend, mom." Jack was turning red making you laugh at his embarrassment,
"Well if he hasn't forgotten the charm I taught him, maybe you won't be just a friend at the end of tonight," she gave you a heartwarming smile.
But Jack had enough of his mom being a mom, "Okay we'll be going to the bar now. After you y/n," he placed his hand on your lower back leading you to any direction other than his family.
"She's amazing," it sounded sarcastic when you said it but you meant it.
"You're only saying that because she made me turn red." he found a cold beer to cool his warm face down,
"You want one?" he offered a cold one,
"No thanks. True but she wasn't wrong about the last thing she said."
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean Jack."
He didn't indulge in his regular teasing behavior but started to get shy again,
he cleared his throat, "Do you want a soda or something? There's none in the cooler but I can find you one."
His demeanor didn't go unnoticed, "Yeah that would be great," but you weren't going to address it.
"I'm gonna find the restroom though, I'll find you after." you didn't have to use the restroom but you needed a mirror to check in with your appearance as things were getting real.
When you came back looking for Jack you found Ellen smiling at you across the room before you felt arms snaking around your waist. You turned around finding Jack holding you closer than ever giving you a sweet smile and you involuntary returning.
"A bit close aren't you?" you muttered up to him
"Just a little."
"Hey, Jack." a soft female voice was heard behind you.
"Hey Em." Jack's voice dipped in tone. You turned around to see who he was talking to, still in his grasp.
"How you've been?" the beautiful looking girl asked staring at you for a quick second.
"Fine, good actually." his grip tightened around your waist as he rested his head on your shoulder. His hold made you stiffen as you read his behavior.
"That's nice to hear. I think I might say hi to Ellen, I'll see you around tonight." she finished talking before heading towards Ellen's direction. As soon as she left, Jack's grip had loosened and you got out of there quick.
"Jesus christ, who do you think I am Jack?" you harshly whispered at him
"What are you talking about?" he had the audacity to looked confused, you thought. You didn't want to bother with his ignorance so you dashed out of the crowded area but he followed you after. When you reached the gravel driveway he reached for your hand,
"Do not touch me."
"I'm sorry, but what's wrong? I thought we were having a good time."
"I thought we were too until you started using me to make your ex jealous!"
âThatâs not-â you interrupted himÂ
"Was I just a date to make your ex jealous? Is that why you were so desperate for me to come?" you let your voice raise considering no one was around,
âYou donât understand.âÂ
âExplain it to me then!â he tried to defend himself but his sentence just trailed off,
âIs she not your ex?â as much as you hated it you felt your eyes start to water.
âWhy do you care so much if youâre just a date to some wedding?â he didn't lash out but it rolled off his tongue too smoothly.
âWow I should've remembered you're still an asshole.â you turned away and started walking off ready to call an Uber,
 âY/n wait,â he yelled Â
âIâm tired of waiting.â you mostly whispered to yourself but he still heard it.
âWhat does that mean?â he softly asked this time,
âDonât worry about it you wouldnât want to care too much.â he finally left you alone watching you walk to the end of the driveway.
"Where is she going?" the pervious female voice interrupted the still silence,
"What are you doing here Em?" Jack's head hanged low as he turned around to find his ex a few away from him.
"I was looking for you. I saw you two leave right after I left. You know Jack I'm still sorry for how things ended and I still think about you and us." she slowly approached him,
"Things ended because I caught you cheating. That won't change the fact that we will never be together again." his voice lashed out this time.
"Are you sure? Because from what I just heard she thinks otherwise. Did you bring her here to make me jealous Jackie?" she caressed his shoulders down his arms,
He swiftly pushed her touch off of him, "No I didn't. Goodnight Em."
Jack ended his night early after that fiasco. He knew he was completely in the wrong and had to make things right even if you didn't want to see him again.
+The Next Day+
You weren't going to let a guy disrupt you daily routine so you spent the next late morning at your designated park. You just didn't think he would be bold enough to find you again.
"Is this seat taken?" an aching voice erupted an annoyed feeling up your spine.
You didn't bother looking at him, "Not anymore." you started to pack your bag and stand.
âBefore you leave, can you hear me out even though I donât deserve it?" you didn't see his face but he scrunched his face to expect backlash.
âWhat do you want Jack?" you crossed your arms and turned to him,
âI want to apologizeâ you kept silent, âI'm sorry that you felt like you were treated for my benefit and I'm sorry that the night ended the way it did. When I asked you to be my date, I truly wanted to enjoy the night with you, to get you know better but then I saw her and I couldnât help try to make her jealous or something. And I know that's a shitty excuse but I didn't know she would be there. Believe me or not but I invited you solely because I wanted to be near you, no one else, not her, just you.â
You slowly took a seat on the bench, âSo what nowâ you whispered as a question and a statement, not understanding what he or you wanted.
âIâm hoping you can forgive me somehow and agree to go on another date, a real date with me this time. If I haven't screwed up that badly..." he whispered the latter as he knew for sure you never wanted to see him again.
âWhy should I say yes?â
âYou said it that night, what if by chance you bumping into me had to happen, because you know, fate." he made air quotation marks with fingers when he said fate,
You genuinely laughed at his reasoning, âAnd if I say no? Going against fateâs wishes, what would happen?"
âYou will never see me again if thatâs what you want but fate probably wonât care either way.â He laughs nervously as his loose defense strategy.
âI wonât go on a date with you jack." you stated firmly making his nervous smile disappear, "But I will hang out with you to see if I can possibly forgive you truly.â you didn't know what hanging out meant but it didn't hold the same significance as a date in your mind.
âActually?â his voice peaked in pitch before he quickly cleared his throat.
âIâll trust fate this last and final time, so donât screw up its plans.â you gave him a sour look but he just returned a bright smile,
âI wonât.â
and he never did.Â
a/n: itâs me. Iâm fate :D

Nico Hischier x Latina!Reader
Synop: Nico comes home after rough practice, all he wants is to do is never leave your side, literally
a/n: great amount of cheese đ§ (fluff) + moody Nico + it kills me to use pet-names but it seems fitting for the story + Google translate for German (also Iâm aware Swiss german is different but to make translations easier we are going to disregard the inaccuracies)
This one makes me cringe but maybe people will like it
+++
Y/n was almost done with dinner, just in time as Nico gets home. His hockey bag makes a loud thump as it hits the ground.
âNico is that you?â Y/n asked but it was obvious that it was her man.
He didnât answer, in fact he would always announce his presence but he was silent. He walks around the corner to enter the kitchen. He eyes his girl and shuffles over to wrap his arms around her waist and hug her.
âHiâ he mumbles into her neck.
âHi babyâ she smiles, Nico being affectionate was to die for, every time.
âDinner will be done soon.â
âIâm not hungry.â He mumbles again.
âReally? What did you eat?â
He didnât say anything and buried his head more into her neck.
âRight, thatâs what I thoughtâ she laughs
âCmon baby, I have to finish here and if you shower now the food will be ready.â His beard tickling her neck made her shift under his touch.
He groaned if not whined, âwhat if you join me in the shower?â He picked his up and looked over her with a smirk.
âNico, Iâm busy and hungry so no.â She stated.
His grip went limp and a dramatic sigh was to be heard.
âI guess you donât love me.â he slowly shuffles out of the kitchen. He was obviously joking but being a big baby.
Y/n snaps her head at the man child, âis there something wrong?â
He just shrugs with his hands in his hoodieâs pockets.
Y/n examines her boyfriend in concern but also thinks âis he serious?â She turns the burner to low and walks to her man and wraps her arms around his waist and looks up to him.
âHow was practice?â She asks softly, examining his eyes.
âI played like shit.â He said defeated with his eyes closed
âNeeks itâs only practice. You know you get better every time you practice.â Y/n tried to comfort the tall man.
âI guess.â He leans down to fully hug y/n because he much craved for it.
She hums in his warmth,
âBaby youâll feel a lot better if you take a hot shower and have a plate of hot food waiting for you.â
âI only want you right now.â
Gosh he was making this hard. Y/n pulled away to look at him and pulled his back in for a slow kiss.
âIâll be here after your shower and after you eat.â
âMore kisses after too?â
âAlways.â
He goes in for what was meant to be a chaste kiss but slowly turns into a quick make out.
âOkay! Go shower, youâre going to burn the food!â
He giggles and finally heads to the bathroom.
~~~
Like promised y/n had his and hers plate ready in no time. She sat in her seat, scrolling on her phone waiting for Nico to join her. Nico with damp hair stepped out the bedroom and promptly sat next to her. He leans over to kiss her,
âThank you babyâ
Before he starts digging in he notices his loveâs seat a bit too far away for his liking and with ease slides her chair over closer to him.
âWow.â She says and he just grins at her like a big goof. Soon enough they fill their bellies with deliciousness.
âOkay now letâs cuddle.â He demands as he picks y/n up and they plop onto the couch.
She shrieks, âNico we still have to clean up!â
âNuh-uh, that can wait and you promised.â
Nico is usually the big spoon / the one being snuggled into but he needed the affection tonight so he snuggled into y/n torso and placed her hand on his head to play with his hair. Something he always loved.
âIch liebe dich.â he says against her body. She recognizes the German because he says it all the time.
âTe amo querido.â He smiles because she says it all the time too.
âpremonition of loveâ
Imagine
Elias Pettersson x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n and Elias who have been friends for at least two years are still oblivious of each otherâs romantic feelings.
a/n: friends to lovers trope đ» angst + fluff + âflirtatiousâ friendship. My longest work yet.
cw: drinking, cussing
+++
Ever since you moved to Vancouver and bumped into Elias one evening, everything fell into place. He became your first true guy friend that you could actually share a genuine laugh with and gossip about each otherâs lives.
He adjusted you to the new city and took his time introducing you to the team. Before you knew it you had more guy friends, but Petey was always your number one and you were his.
You canât hide the fact that when you first saw him you were nervous as to how intimidating his good looks were. But as conversations flowed, in the moment you didnât think double about seeing him more than a friend.
That was until you started to realize how lonely you felt when he was on road games. You guys grew so close together that you spent every moment together as much as you could. It didnât help that you cherished in person company rather a phone call or a text. You would catch yourself before spamming him videos on Instagram and trying to call him.
One night when he had a particularly long road game, you were laying in bed thinking about him and how much you missed him. Even after having a long talk with him earlier that day.
Thatâs when you knew. You were falling for your best friend and you were completely screwed.
You hardly slept that night. You were replaying every special memory you shared with him (more like all the memories). Trying to figure out how you let yourself be so foolish. I mean the guy is cute but heâs your friend first and foremost. But then you dreaded to wonder if he even liked you back.
You woke up to next morning with horrible anxiety and a pit in your stomach. Petey would be coming home tomorrow and you didnât know how you were going to face him with this new revelation
You went about your day as usual besides the lingering thoughts of your blondie. You decided to test the waters to see if he could in any way possibly like you back.
+++
âIâve missed you so much y/n/nâ Elias muffled into your neck as he hugged you so tightly.
âIâve missed you too.â You felt your heart beating unusually fast and struggled out of his grip.
âWhat? Was I hugging too hard?â He laughs as he notices you fight to break free.
âJust a little.â You said softly trying to avoid eye contact.
âSorry. I just missed you seeing you in person you know?â He actually felt bad if he hugged you too harshly for your liking.
âYeah I knowâ you stare at each other before he goes to put his bag in his room.
âElias can I ask you something?â You yell from his living room only to be met with silence.
âPetey?â You ask again
âWhatâs up? Am I trouble because you never call me Elias unless Iâm in trouble.â His laugh echoes in the hallway before coming to a stop when he meets your face.
âIs something wrong?â He makes his away across the room to caress your arms, heâs always sweet like this.
You knew if you told him your feelings all of this would come to an end. Not just the way he looks at you with concern but the laughter you guys shared. Life would never be the same without him in it.
âHow much did you really miss me?â You teased your friend, trying to deflect the physical heart ache you felt in your chest.
âLike 3 out of 10.â He said flatly playing along like he always did.
âWow.â You said looking up at him.
âYeah, you know I think I could have gone one more day without seeing you too.â He said with a smirk on his face. Now he was pushing it.
âReally? I see how it is.â You slither out of his grasp again and sat on the couch.
âCâmon you started it.â He whined at your behavior.
He plopped right next to you and leaned his head on your shoulder, âyou know I missed you more than a 4.â
You huffed, âI missed you 1 out of 10.â
âI doubt that.â He lifted his head and stared at you as you looked ahead at the TV.
+++
For a year youâve kept your feelings secret. How? You donât even know how. Some nights you cried to sleep because of how difficult it was to keep seeing him a friend and only that.
You had to tell someone, luckily you had another best friend from your hometown that was always there.
âYou need to tell him how you feel.â Okay thatâs not what you wanted to hear but it was expected considering sheâs heard the same complaints the past year.
âItâs easier said than done.â You say over the phone
âOkay then stop being friends with him.â
âThat is literally the opposite of what I want to do.â You squint your eyes in frustration
âI donât know what you want me to tell you! Youâve been torturing yourself every second you spend with him y no tienes los huevos a dicerle, âoh by the way Iâve been in love with you for the past yearâ Like câmon girl!â
âIâm pathetic arenât I?â You ask on the bridge of tears because she was right like she always is.
Your friend sighs on the other end, âNo youâre not. Listen, you do not know a 100% sure that he does or does not like you. Therefore, you need to find the right place and time to tell him gently and the worst case is he doesnât like you back then heâs an idiot. Because I know any good guy is worthy of having you as their girlfriend.â
You tried to hold back your hiccuped tears, âyouâre really are a great friend, y/f/n. I donât know how youâve put up with my rants. Thanks.â
âMe either girl.â Her comment makes you and her laugh before you get another call from the man himself.
âElias is calling me.â
âTake it, I love you and remember what I said!â
âI love you too and I will.â
+++
âHello?â You tried to clear your throat before answering his call to not sound like you were crying literally seconds before.
âHi, one of the guys is hosting a party tomorrow night and weâre invited. You have to come.â
You laugh at his demand knowing that both of you donât like parties, âyou know I will.â
âGreat. Are you okay? You sound sick or somethingâ he could always read and hear you like a book.
âYeah Iâm fine I just have allergies like I always do.â
âEw. Donât have your allergies tomorrow night when I pick you up. Be ready at 8, Ok?â
âIâll try not to, Elias.â
âGood, Iâll talk to you later.â
You ended the phone call ready to burst into tears again. Maybe tomorrow night you could finally confess or somehow find a way to move on.
+++
Blondie
Iâm here
You looked in the mirror one more time before heading down to Eliaâs car. âGood enoughâ you said to yourself before leaving your apartment.
He looked at you with a smile as you entered his car, âyou look cute.â
âThanksâ his compliments were never rare but caused more heart ache the past year.
âHow do I look?â He asks
You deadpan observing his outfit, âyou look niceâ
In reality you knew he looked more than nice, he always did.
He just grunts at your response. Elias would be lying if he hadnât noticed the slight change in your behavior. The way you backed out of affection or made excuses to not see each other. He didnât want to question it because he knew you struggled to be open about serious stuff. Even after the excuses he still made himself available, kept reminding you that he would always be there. Some part of you hated him for that, making your situation even more complicated.
He started the car and began the short trip, âI think Iâm going to get wasted tonight.â You said staring out the passenger window.
âIf you do, youâre going to regret it in the morning.â He laughed
âTrue but I never get plastered so why not.â
He turned to look at you, he wondered why you would even drink that much since you rarely do.
+++
For such a âsmallâ gathering the party was filled with friends of friends and family members.
âIâm going to get a drinkâ you yelled over the loud music to Elias. You didnât waste time to drink the night away. It was either liquid courage to confess or find someone else.
You didnât bother to wait for his response and made your way to the kitchen. You found one of the wags giving out Jell-O shots and didnât hesitate to swallow one, two or three.
Now, just because you didnât get drunk often doesnât mean youâre a light weight. Although, by the middle of the night you were getting a bit tipsy.
+++
You kind of forget what your friendâs advice, you were too delirious to tell Elias your feelings in coherent manner. So you found yourself talking to one of the wags cousin or brother? Some family member that you were sure neither Elias or you knew.
He was cute a bit cocky but good enough to take your mind off you know who. He did most of the talking ranting about some inner circle drama in his friend group back home, he wasnât from Vancouver.
You tried to keep up with the story but the alcohol in your cup was starting to get to you. He said something funny and to be polite you laughed along even though you could barely hear what he had said.
On the other hand, Elias was trying to look for you the whole night. Both of you knew if you were at a party youâd always be together to keep company but you bolted as soon you two stepped in the door.
He kept asking around if someone had seen you and after some time he found you talking to some brunette. Not just talking but obnoxiously laughing with him. Elias just stood there studying your behavior and glancing at the random. He saw your red solo cup and assumed it was empty because you left the brunette to the kitchen.
Elias followed you into the kitchen spooking you as he asked, âwhy are you ignoring me?â
âI wasnât ignoring you.â You continued to refill your cup
âHow much have you drank tonight?â He asked as you took a sip from your cup
âNot much like three Jell-O shots and two of these.â You waved the cup in your hand before he grabbed it and set it on the counter behind him.
âHey I was drinking that.â
âNot anymore, we should go home.â He demanded rather than suggesting.
âBut I was talking to a friend.â In reality you wanted nothing more than to be in your bed but you hoped Elias had watched you talking to whatever his name was.
âYeah I saw.â
Your drunken brain couldnât help to think if he was jealous, if he could actually like you back. But both of you stood there waiting for the other to say something.
After some silence he walked up to you, holding your arm. You pulled back and turned to the side to not look at him.
âWhatâs wrong? Youâve been acting weird lately, you know you can talk to me.â He spoke softly even with music blasting in the house.
As much you loved him you also hated him for making you feel this way. Not that it was his fault but you couldnât resist him.
You looked back to him with teary eyes, his filled with concern and his eyebrows scrunched. You turn your head again and whispered, âletâs go homeâ
+++
The car ride was silent. You pretended to fall asleep against the window as an excuse to not talk. Elias was frustrated to say the least. He didnât understand why you were keeping distance between you two.
The last thing he wanted was the girl he had a crush on from the moment he laid eyes on her is to be away from her.
+++
Eventually you did fall asleep but Elias woke you up and guided you up to your apartment.
âYou can stay over if you want.â You offered as you rubbed your eyes.
âOkâ he agreed standing in your living room.
You were too drunk and tired to be a polite host, âgoodnightâ you said as you closed your bedroom door behind you.
Elias was left in the living room alone but luckily he knew where you kept the extra blankets.
+++
You woke up with a pounding headache and a blur of what happened last night. You donât know why you woke up so early but it was too late to fall back asleep. You headed into your small bathroom to rejuvenate whatever you had left in you.
You walked to your kitchen and noticed folded blankets on your couch, then Elias popped out of the hallway scaring the shit out of you.
âWhat the hell are you doing here?â You didnât mean to sound rude but you were confused as to why he was creeping from your hallway.
âYou asked me stay the night, remember?â
âNo, I donât remember.â You tried to distract yourself with heating up water for tea as your memories from last night started to seep in.
âI told you, you would regret it.â He said
âRegret what?â
âDrinking.â
âI donât.â
âThatâs a lie.â
It was indeed a lie. Your stomach was aching and your eyes straining.
âDo you want some tea?â You reached for a second mug before turning around to him standing right behind you.
He had ibuprofen in his palm for you to take.
âTake this.â
âThanksâ you reached for the pills before he closed his hand.
âFirst tell me whatâs wrong.â
âItâs too early in the morning, Eliasâ
âSee, you only call me Elias, you stopped calling me Petey.â His lips slightly pouted.
You scoffed at his behavior, âdonât do that.â You turned around pouring hot water into both of your mugs.
âDo what?â He was starting to piss you off now.
âThis. Whatever this is. The way you stand so close to me or the way you look at me.â You started to walk out of the kitchen.
âI donât know what you mean.â He said with insincerity. Deep down he knew what you meant.
âDonât be an idiot.â You were getting nasty now.
âExcuse me?â He defended in sass.
âGod, Petey, you have been so blind about the way you act and my feelings.â
âFeelings about what?â He asked softly, inching closer to you like he always does.
âYou have to know what.â Tears started to brim your eyes.
âI wasnât sure you felt the same way.â He whispered cradling your cheek.
âWhat?â You werenât sure what you were hearing.
He didnât bother trying to explain himself in words so he leaned in, hesitant at first, but after years of longing your lips finally met. It was a soft yet sweet kiss filled with years of need.
He pulls away, âIt was killing me to not do that.â
âYou have no ideaâ
Winter Cafe
Imagine
Elias Pettersson x Latina!Reader
Synop: y/n and a friend are discussing their love lives in a calm cafe on a late Vancouver winter evening. Nervous, blushy Elias + stubborn?reader
cw: cussing, joke about âIâm going to kill youâ
+++
âI told you J names are never to be trusted.â You stated at your best friend across from you.
âBut he can really be sweet, like a few days ago he bought me flowers.â She gushed in the cute action as you sipped your hot cocoa.
âAre you really going to ignore the fact that he has left you on delivered since then? Not to mention he has a habit of doing this, leaving you to hang dry.â You didnât want to sound rude but this guy sounds like heâs stringing your friend along.
âI know youâre right but heâs still incredibly hot.â
You stare at your friend in disbelief but understand her situation. Love, if that is what she even is in, makes people see not clearly.
âYou wouldnât get it.â She says.
âWhat do I not get?â You sit up straight to really listen to what she has to say.
âLiking a guy this much.â She stated flatly.
âYouâre right I donât get it. Iâve had crushes before and you know that.â You retaliate, starting to strip off your puffer jacket.
âNo this isnât a crush. This is more than that. You donât let yourself actually fall for a guy. You see any possible red flag and make excuses to not fall in love.â
You were baffled to hear all of this tonight. You didnât know thatâs what your friend thought but you knew deep down it was true. So, you kept silent in shock.
âYour silence speaks for itself.â She had to rub in.
âOkay so what is so wrong with that? Iâm fine having a few crushes now and then and leading to nowhere. Plus you know Iâm not ready for anything serious.â You pulled at your long sleeves, crossing your arms over your chest.
âOh please, youâve been saying that for the last couple of years! Itâs either now or never to be in a relationship.â
âThen I suppose itâs never.â A stubborn lady you were.
âNo actually, I suppose itâs now. Donât look but there is a Ken-looking man eyeing at you.â Your friend smirks at you as she drinks her warm tea.
âHaha funny. Thatâs a mean thing to joke about.â You stare hurt at your friend.
âNo Iâm being dead serious. There is a blondie in a beanie looking at you.â You didnât want to turn around in case there was no one there and she would make fun of you. So you played along.
âAnd how do you know heâs looking at me and not you?â You raised your eyebrows at your friend.
âBecause he just waved at me and pointed to you.â She is still looking over your shoulder but keeping the conversation going.
You gulped as if you were starting to believe her.
âThatâs makes zero sense. Why would he be interested in me if he canât even see my face?â You questioned the scenario.
âI donât know but heâs coming over right now.â She quickly whispered across the small round table.
âWhat the hell are you talking about?â You harshly whispered back as a blonde man suddenly appeared at your guyâs table.
Both of you look up to the tall, model-looking man.
âHiâ he says simply with a small smile.
âHiâ both of you say in unison and look at each other. Your friend winks at you and you fight to not scoff, you look up to the man.
âIâm Elias.â He grabs the nape of his neck as he says, âI saw you when you walked in and I thought you were really beautiful. I tried to get your friendâs attention to see if itâs okay to talk to you.â
âItâs perfectly fine to talk to my friend.â Your friend says with too much enthusiasm.
âIn fact, sit down Elias. Iâm going to order another drink.â She demands as she stands up and softly but forcefully guides Eliasâ shoulders to her seat.
Your mouth is agape as your friend prepares to leave you to fend for yourself. She even whispers, âdonât mess this up.â before she finally leaves.
âPendejaâ you harshly whisper at her back as she walks away. You turn to look at Elias with a nervous smile.
âHiâ you say
âHiâ he says with a bright smile before faltering,
âI can leave if you donât want to talk with me.â He rushes to say.
âNo itâs fine, my friend wouldnât shut up if I ignored you.â
âIâm y/nâ you tried to show interest
âIâm EliasâI already said that, sorryâ he laughs as he feels his cheeks start to warm up.
You laugh at his nerves, fidgeting with your mug.
âAre you from Vancouver?â He asks staring intently.
âNo, but Iâve been living here for a few years now.â
He nodded in agreement. It didnât take long to understand he wasnât from Vancouver either with his lingering accent.
âAre you going to ask if Iâm from here?â He indulges in the shared ambiance.
âI think I already know the answer.â You say confidently.
âOkay go ahead.â He leans back into his chair, holding the eye contact.
âSweden.â You calmly state.
His eyes widen very slightly and his jaw drops too. âHow did you know?â He asks astonished as he leans foward into the table.
âIâm good at guessing where people are from. The accent was a hint, plus you literally look like the stereotypical Swedish man, tall and handsome.â You whispered the latter before sipping your drink.
That bright smile of his returns and he tries to cover his blush.
âIâm sorry if I was too bold.â He says
âI think it was fine, you were respectful if anything. Some guys are too confident when picking up girls.â You looked over at your friend whoâs sitting across the cafe shamelessly staring at you two.
âMaybe thatâs why Iâm still single.â You whisper to yourself but also trying to hint your availability to blondie. Your friend was right, any wrong first impression, you threw the guy to the side, but Elias has been sweet so far.
âI guess that should have been my second question, you are single right?â He asks for confirmation.
You stare at him, thinking of what his intentions are, âI am.â
âAre you?â You ask boldly. Normally you wouldnât ask at all seeing as though a conversation would never get this far.
âYes.â
âWell then.â You stare back at him waiting for him to ask anything at this point. He was the one who walked over, he has to be the one to ask for your number as well.
+++
Your friend fidgets in her seat as sheâs been trying to hold in her pee to not miss any action between you and Mr. Elias. She watches as Elias stands up and leaves the cafe. As soon as the hanging door bell chimes to a close she makes her way towards you.
âSo what happened!?â Your dear friend was so excited for you, the possibility of finally being in a relationship.
âWe have a date next week.â You say as if it were a question. You couldnât believe it yourself.
âOh my god, y/n!â She drags out your name as she holds your hands making a happy dance.
âIâm going to kill you for leaving me here though.â You say still annoyed at her actions.
âNot before we find you a cute outfit to wear on your date!â
Boyfriend Quirks - Elias Pettersson
Headcon
whipped, nervous Elias x Latina!reader
cw: none
+
- so a relationship with Elias is like also having a best friend I think. And it starts that way, having a laugh together until one laughing fit, you catch eye otherâs glance and itâs like âšsparkâš
- another spark moment though was heading out on a snowy evening and you have a Canucks colored beanie on and he just adjusts your beanie just to touch you
- on said night, yâall strolling through a park, your hands get cold and he puts them in his pocket to keep you warm. But also intertwining his hand into yours
- he confesses his feelings when yâall get back home and immediately becomes red because of how nervous he was. Ofc you tease him and yâall sleep in the same bed together that night.
- Elias in the mornings is the classic, ânoo stay five minutes moreâ and of course you donât protest. Heâs the type to engulf you in snuggles until your bodies can no longer be any physically closer.
- during and after finishing breakfast, heâll just stare in adoration at you. Observing your features as you watch your favorite show.
- if he has practice, leaving wonât be such a struggle. Heâll ask for quick cuddles right before he needs to change. Whatâs meant to be a quick kiss goodbye, turns into a soft make out before you push him out the door.
- when gets back he looks for you for a long hug before you tell him to shower, he pouts but knows youâre right.
- right out the shower heâs asking for cuddles, again. No exception for cuddles, unless heâs starving. But right after he takes his last bite, cuddles.
- if you get hot easily and tell him to back up, heâll slightly pout but understand. But if itâs winter, cuddles are endless. If you get cold easily, he eats that up. âNo worries, Iâll make you warmâ grabs a blanket and wraps both of you like a burrito.
- for your birthday he would gift you a necklace pendant, âit has small photo of us insideâ
- Now games. If he scores a goal he comes to you after the game all giddy, âDid you see my goal?â He loves when you get to see him play in person.
-If the team loses heâll sulk in cuddles and ramble about what could have gone better.
- he tries to avoid arguments/fights but when they inevitably happen, he respects if you want time alone even if his heart aches. He canât help but think if that night was it, the end of you together.
- eventually when you come to your senses and do the walk of shame to reconcile, heâs quick to accept you with open arms. The dude is genuinely terrified of never seeing you again.
- after some time together he gathers the courage to say those three words. He figures it should be as important as if he were to propose (in his mind heâs already decided to) so he sets up the perfect date. âWhy are you sweating? Are you okay?â âOh Iâm fineâ Heâs just about to tell the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with that he loves her.
- after you say you love him back, I mean how could you not? Kisses after that night hold very different meaning. Before he leaves for practice: âI love youâ *kiss* Right before bed: âI love youâ *kiss* When youâre napping: âI love youâ *kiss* He follows the promise with a kiss so many times that a kiss speaks for itself.
+++
-silly prompt: idk why but he would leave selfies on your camera roll with a plain face and thatâs it. Or would take selfies of the both of you when youâre taking a nap and you tell him to delete them but heâs like nope.
