So, we've had this photo on the wiki for a while - lovely little backstage moment from Moscow 2005.

But I found the photographer's instagram and, although I know he took a lot of other photos (some of which we have from other sources), he has only one Cats photo there. And it is...

He added (according to google translate): "This picture is nearly 13 years old. I never showed it in color. I work for a site with an archive. Backstage of the musical Cats on the day of the press screening. 03/17/2005" (X)

Jemima is Valentina Rubtsova, Victoria is Alexandra Sinitsina, and Cassandra is probably Svetlana Shustova.

One minute of snippets from the third US tour (1986–88): the pyramid, Jenny's tap sequence, and the end of Tugger's song.

Featuring Tugger and Cassandra playing with each other's ears and sharing a head nuzzle, Tugger spinning Jenny around until she gets flustered and joins in his dance instead of scolding him, and Sillabub dashing all the way across the stage to grab Victoria's hand when Grizabella enters. (Scary lady is here, must hold hands with smol friend! 🥺)

18 Feb 2022: Anina Pletscher (Electra/swing) had her Victoria debut for this leg of the Asia tour!

With Rafe Watts as Munkustrap and Amy Everett as Jemima...

... Mukeni Nel as Carbuckety, and Dane Quixall (resident director and general superswing) in his 'actually getting to be onstage' debut!

He took the role of George, which presumably means Taylor Scanlan (George/swing) was either off or was covering another role.

George is an onstage swing role so isn't usually covered: I'm guessing this means there was another girl missing and Dane was covering her track (or a split track) in the shape of George, as he did occasionally in the 2017 Asia tour. Being the resident director and having covered almost every male role (except Tugger, Deut, Munk, and Gustopher) he's well equipped to slip from track to track as necessary to fill in any 'gaps' onstage. In any case, it's lovely that he got to be onstage again—last time he got to cat was in the International tour before it was shut down for COVID, two years ago.

Meanwhile, Anina will be playing Victoria until the 20th, so Tyler Lotzof must either have a minor injury or a couple of days off.

Munkustrap being a dad and loving it. Look at him beaming as he tries to wrestle the kitten deluge under control! Victoria has called dibs on the Munkulegs and will fight anybody who tries to get close. Where did Bill Bailey go oh there he is, better grab hold of his scruff to keep him still, he's looking a bit excitable. Carbuckety, no, don't yoink the Jemimacat, Jemima leave some fur on the poor man's arm please. And bonus - because Jalonzo is looking very elegant and prim in that first gif, doing a bit of lounging and preening - Demelonzo tidying themselves and each other behind the annoying sticker that I cropped out of the kitten gif.

All the boys seem to have decided on black today, but: Bill Bailey (Kade Hughes) is first to reach him then ducks behind his legs, almost missing out on a touch in his hurry; Carbuckety (Jal Joshua) with the long hair sits up and gets a nice head pat and scritch, and George (Taylor Scanlan) is last and has to wait his turn. And Mistoffelees (Xavier Pellin) pops in at the end with his back to the camera, presumably having disposed of Deuteronomy's mask and hoping for more pats himself.

Alonzo has a leggie, Munkustrap has benevolently open arms (and mysteriously closed legs), and Admetus, Victoria, and Jemima have adorable cuddles. Even Mistoffelees thinks so.
