You look up at Gerard with a teasing smile.

“Well. My crush is a person you know well. He’s with me almost everyday.”

Gerard grinned, pulling you onto his lap.

“Oh really?”

You nodded.

“He has the most beautiful smile. And he used to be in a band too!”

Gerard raised his eyebrows, making the both of you chuckle.

“He does sound like a pretty cool guy.“

“That’s because he is! And not just pretty cool, he’s very cool. Remember that.”

You brushed his bangs away to reveal the scar on his left eye. Tracing the red skin with the tip of your fingers.

“Don’t you think your lucky guy would be jealous if he finds out that you’re sitting on my lap right now?”

You smiled, inching your face closer to him.

“You know what, I don’t think he minds at all.”

With that, he connected his lip to yours. The both of you feeling the smile tugging on each of your lips as you embraced each other in the dim lights of his room.

You looked at him incredulously. This grown dude was giggling and wiggling his brows like he’s some elementary school kid who heard the word underwear for the first time.

“Seriously? Fine. I’ll describe him to you. This person, goes to Eunjang. And you know him.”

“Ooh. Interesting-“

“Shh. I’m not done. So, this person. He’s.. strong. Like super strong, like you wouldn’t even believe it strong. He’s like a superhero. He has a nice smile and has a surprisingly connoisseur palate. He also has the most beautiful sun-kissed skin I have ever seen.”

Ben is now looking at you with intent, a slightly nervous gulp could be seen from where you stand.

“I like his- no I love how he’s always there for his friends. And the fact that he is liked by everyone gives me a warm feeling in my chest. He also has a child-like wonder to his eyes that I want to protect forever-”

Feeling a heavy hand drop on your shoulder, you stopped your current rambling to see a frowning Ben at your side.

“Wait- Uh not to be a narcissist, but the way you’re explaining about this guy makes it sound like you’re literally describing me?”

Oh how you wanted to punch him lovingly in the face.

“It is you.”

“IT IS?!”

He thought the two of you had something together!

Alex had overheard the girls talking at your part-time job about your supposed “crush”.

How had he not realise it sooner! Figures he was just another ‘great’ friend of yours.

“Hey, Alex!”

“Oh. it’s you.”

You had just finished your shift and headed straight to his gym with two cups of coffee in your hands.

Setting them down, you took your backpack off and tossed them over on the corner.

“I brought you some coffee.”

Your smile melts his heart a little bit. But then he remembers that you already have a pretty little “crush”. So, he just turned his head and murmured

“Why didn’t you just give it to your crush? I’m sure HE would appreciate it.”

You turned to him, baffled.

But, honestly a sulky Alex is kind of amusing to see, so a small laughter cracked out of you.

“Where did you heard that from?”

“Oh it doesn’t matter. Good for you though, I’m sure he’s such a great guy.”

You hummed to yourself.

“Yeah, he kinda is actually.”

Alex let out a choked sound when he whipped his head to face you with the most ‘I thought what we had was special’ expression, that for a second there you were genuinely worried that he was gonna start crying.

“Alex-”

“No, I mean it. I’m sure you’d pick someone worthy enough, so let’s hear it. What’s so great about this guy?”

He just can’t figure it out can he.

You sighed.

“To name a few, he’s the sweetest person I know. He has a big dream, and he’s a hardworking person. I love his eyes, his smile, and his cute little red nose.”

“Huh? What do you- OW!”

Alex’s eyes widened when you came to pinch the bridge of his nose hard.

Ah.. that’s definitely gonna be red- eh?

And only then he realised. Darting his eyes up at you as you look down onto him with a satisfied smile on your face.

“Figured it out yet?”

Face hot and burning now, remembering just how ridiculous he had acted.

“Jake, come take a picture with me.”

No questions asked, Jake came and posed for the camera.

“What’s it for?”

“Uh nothing! Just wanted to get back at someone, you know.”

It was in fact, not nothing. The truth is that you have been compiling pictures of both you and Jake to keep as a substitute. It looks a lot like you guys are dating from those pics, and you like looking at them to cheer yourself up during the bad days. Not that anyone has to know.

“Ooh~ Is it a new guy? Do I know him?”

“Tsk. Mind your own business.”

“Aww come on, we’re friends aren’t we? Besides I gotta make sure he’s good for you! Call it a guy’s instinct~”

That’s not the problem dumbass! But,

“I met him 3 years ago. He never really noticed me, he was one of the cool kids. All the girls liked him so it wasn’t really a surprise that I joined in. Eventually he came up to talk to me and we became friends, and he’s such a sweetheart but he’s just so oblivious that it’s making me go crazy!”

Jake looked at you with an unreadable expression on his face. Your heart thumped with anticipation.

“Damn.. that must be hard. But if it’s you, I’m sure it will work out!”

You felt your heart sink as he tapped you on your shoulder, mouthing a ‘good luck’ before leaving the classroom.

It is what it is you guess.

Meanwhile in Jake’s mind:

This scenario with Donald would be super straightforward.

It would be completely out of the blue as well.

He was doing some paperworks in his office when you suddenly barged in.

“Donald, I would like to inform you about my crush.”

If he likes you a lot, (which he probably does if he lets you just barge into his office unannounced) he will put down everything aside and give you all of his attention.

“Go ahead then.”

It’s honestly comical how concerned you are about such an innocuous thing.

“I don’t know when it started, but it’s been getting worse. Initially I thought that I might’ve contacted some kind of disease and went to the nearby clinic but they hadn’t found anything wrong with me. So then I went to work as usual, where I then meet you! A-and my heart did this weird jumping thing!”

“So, you’re basically saying that you have a crush.. on me?”

The way you look genuinely exasperated, running a hand through your hair had Donald trying to suppress a grin.

“I have come to that conclusion. That, yes. I’m afraid so.”

“You know you don’t have to be embarrassed about it, right? It’s completely normal to get nervous when you see an attractive man.”

“Do you find yourself attractive?”

“I mean not necessarily, but clearly you do.”

You groaned and sat yourself down on one of the armchairs Donald keep in his office, clearly in distress at this newfound feeling you just discovered.

Donald then stood up from his seat and walked over to kneel himself in front of you.

“Now let me tell you about my crush.”

It was something that Wolf overheard by accident.

He had wanted to return your calculator, walking up the second floor. Hwangmo offered to return it for him, but he wants to get some interaction with you, you know.

He couldn’t care less on what your classmates are discussing, about to enter the room when he heard some interesting statements.

“… no, but I do have it. Someone I like.”

Well well well. Looks like Wolf’s staying outside for now.

“OMG OMG WHO?”

He could hear you giggling over the series of table smacking.

“Just.. look I can’t tell you guys who it is exactly. But, I’ll tell you this. Well, um. He has a deep voice, and.. he’s younger than us. Oh and he wears glasses. There! I’ll reveal that much.”

Now would you look at that. A smirk curled on Wolf’s lips right as the words roll off of your tongue.

Oh what is he gonna do with you.

“What?? That could be anyone-”

sure you don't know what's going on half the time, but that's what he admires about you.

he's also a little airheaded, so it works.

you love telling him really bad jokes, and he either a.) finds them freaking hilarious or b.) just looks at you with the ??? face.

you two have a lot of inside jokes that literally no one understands (the majority of which are stupid things you've done or said).

he doesn't study very often but will start doing it more frequently just so he can help you with tests, homework, or any other assignment.

if you get anything higher than a 70, he'll start thinking he can give grey a run for his money 💀

god forbid if you call yourself dumb because he's telling you a thousand and one reasons why you're the smartest person he knows.

i feel like alex would be more of the protective type.

of course, he loves your optimism and honest nature, but he does worry.

he's just scared that someone would take advantage of you.

no matter what he does to keep you safe, you just seem to find yourself in some sort of situation (never anything too serious, but of course…)

like he can tell you not to go out in the streets or the subways because it's too crowded or something simple, and you always just... spawn there.

your personality definitely stresses him out sometimes due to you being unaware of most things around you and the fact that you are unnaturally sweet.

despite the fact that you might worry him, you actually relieve stress much more than you ever cause it.

he especially loves it when you ask him for help on anything, it can be the simplest things, but alex just loves feeling useful to you.

he doesn't want you to be reduced to just an airhead, so he is constantly trying to teach you things or help you.

i swear, you and gerard are soulmates.

you guys just complement each other so well.

he a sucker for you and your dumb jokes, and if you're a little slow, even better.

he finds you funny and adorable

there was this one time where you were in his lap, his head resting on your shoulder, as he was teaching you how to play his guitar.

"ok y/n so you just put your hand on here... and then you hold these stings and start strumming..."

you had no idea what he was saying 💀, you were trying your best to pay attention and to actually comprehend what he was saying but it just felt like he was teaching you 12 different things all at once

you just played it off with simple nods and ohhhhs.

although it came back to bite you in the ass when he told you to demonstrate what you learned.

if you're a klutz, he will definitely laugh at you (in a lighthearted way, of course) if you trip over something or bump into something (don't worry, he'll make sure you're ok after).

you two love talking about your interests together, especially the ones you guys are passionate about

he especially loves how you let him ramble about One Piece or any other manga he's reading (just smile and nod 🥹)

he will be protective of you just like alex but will do it in a more humorous manner.

you know how in the movies the guy puts a jacket over a puddle so the girl can walk across it? Yeah, he'll be like that, but ironically,

he'll purposely insert a random scientific fact into you guys conversations just to see your face morph into confusion.

although he mostly does it just so you can beg him for its meaning (he doesn't even know what it means💀),

he definitely loves the fact that you're a natural sweetheart.

its definitely a break from all the disingenuous people around him.

of course, you catch on to things a little slower than the average joe but he loves watching your reaction when you finally get/understand something.

he loves how well you get along with his friends (even though in the beginning dean thought you were a little annoying).

he thought you were too dumb and too happy for the position you were in.

he wouldn't be the gentlest person, but he wouldn't be mean either.

he will chastise you if you do something stupid or careless.

he'll tell you about how you're so dense and that you should've known better.

although in the beginning he sounds a little harsh, you'll start understanding that he is just looking out for you.

he just feels like you act and say before you think, which you do.

It's stressful having to keep up with you.

just like alex he thinks people will take advantage of your kindhearted and naive nature.

especially since you're in the union, it's definitely a risk that he can't take.

he'll do his best to take care of you, though.

donald actually, surprisingly, enjoys your presence.

i mean, you've known him for such a long time that he would understandably get used to your behaviors.

growing up, nobody seemed to understand the unusual pairing that was you and Donald.

he was cold and intelligent, and you were sweet and naive.

you were basically his only friend back then

you were unnaturally nice to him, despite his being an outcast for his intelligence and economic situation.

you just brought something that was missing in his life

that joy and airheadedness definitely made him happy, especially growing up in such a bad environment.

fast forward to now, and you still matter to him.

he has a soft spot just for you (and maybe for Kingsley).

he always keeps an eye out for you, but because you are so close to the leader of the union, there's always the risk that you can be used as some sort of blackmail against him.

of course, he knows what you're capable of—or maybe what you're incapable of—so he doesn't worry too much.

he helps, or more, like does your homework for you

it will just be you sitting in his lap or anywhere in his office while he focuses on his own work and you're trying to figure out your own.

he puts in his own input every now and then, but it'll always fall on deaf ears.

you just don't understand, but for donald that's ok; he loves helping you.

Wishful Thinking: Weak Hero Characters Edition (My Imagination of Their Careers)

I hope that Sieun (Gray) and Baekjin (Donald) will be the future mathematicians of Korea, solve new math problems and publish them academically. Maybe they will get a joint Nobel prize one day...and I hope Sieun will still ride a motorcycle!

I hope that Teo (Teddy) will run an animal shelter or pet shop. Not sure but maybe if he studies hard enough he could be a vet! Aja aja, Teo!!

I hope that Juntae (Eugene) will work in an NGO and help solve local social infrastructure problems. Maybe if he studies hard enough he could get a degree in engineering.

I hope that Juyang (Rowan) will use his Australian and Eunjang experiences to run a successful Youtube channel and become a great influencer.

I hope that Humin (Ben) will maybe try for the U-21 soccer team, and if that's too late for him I hope he could do whatever he's happy about (maybe open a popular pizza shop?). Or maybe he could join Juyang's channel.

I hope that Gayool (Gerard) will try singing again professionally, whether as a solo artist or in a band. And that he will be happy about it.

I hope that Hyuntak (Gogo) will try for a career in boxing. I hope he'll never, ever give up on his dreams.

I hope that Pilyoung (Philip) will become a successful businessman, but an ethical one. He's rather good as a political lobbyist too.

Whatever it is that Seongje (Wolf) wants to do I hope it's not criminal. I hope he has a hobby that he could expand into a business.

I hope that Hwangmo will find his own independent way and not just follow Seongje around anymore. I hope he'll stay friends with Jeongyeon (Jack) and Naksung. He's rather good in making friends...another person with a prospect as a lobbyist!

I hope that Hakho (Jake) will be a professional manga critic or maybe cosplayer. And occasionally play basketball or soccer with his friends and maybe Jihoon (Jimmy).

I hope that Jihoon will try to draw again and not afraid to show it to people. Maybe sketch more. Go and take a drawing course, dude. Manhwa artist as a career might be just for you...ehehe.

I hope that Sehan (Forrest) and Seungjin (Myles) will do something else other than gangster stuff.

On that note, I hope that Gongsam (Grape) can eat as many grapes as he wants. Maybe try making grape juice and sell them, or maybe a winery? Hmm.

I hope that Hyukjin (Dean) can eat as many bread as he wants and maybe try a career in modelling. His looks and drip are too good to waste. Or a gamer hehe.

I hope that Taegi (Timothy) will try a career in game development or business analyst. Gotta make use of that statistical analysis skill.

I hope that Seokhyeon (Kingsley) will find whatever he wants to do other than running the Union behind the scenes. I suspect that he might be interested in politics.

I hope that Hyoman (Colton) will find his strengths other than fighting. And this time with a better approach to life and friendships.

I hope that Seongjin will watch Gayool performing on stage again as a fan. And that he will enjoy Gayool's new music as much as he enjoyed his old one.

I hope that Dongha and Seongmok will find a great way to stay friends without hurting each other or other people. Maybe Dongha should model for a shampoo.

I hope that Jeongyeon (Kang) will be able to go to karaoke with Jihoon again, but this time with other people who also love singing! Maybe Gayool, Naksung, Seongjin, people who used to be his enemies. And I hope he will find something peaceful to do ( traveling?).

⋆ maybe its just me, but i feel like a lot of what sieun listens to would depend on his mood or what hes doing in the moment !

⋆ when hes going about his daily life or needs a mood-lifter ? definitely gravitates to genres like soft pop + indie ! for studying ? hes probably got those lofi music streams pulled up in the background- always has the volume super low though, otherwise he finds it hard to focus :,)

⋆ still, whenever hes missing suho or feeling down, he tends to put on some of suhos favorite songs :(( in a way its healing for him; it reminds him of the good times they shared, and even if he cant exactly be around him now, he can still be connected with him through song~

⋆ since i think hes more of a genre person than an artist person, i dont think he rlly has any favorite singers/groups ! but i do think hed like stuff by IU, Heize and a lil bit of Clairo, and other similar artists~

⋆ definitely a pop enthusiast imo !! i feel like he would enjoy more upbeat stuff that gets him in a good mood, or that he can work out to lol- (also would love listening to stuff he can do impromptu karaoke or fall over dancing to when nobodys around lmaooo) hes a pretty energetic guy, so it only fits that hed enjoy energetic music as well !

⋆ would also love latin music, w a soft spot for the oldies (and reggaeton) :)) i see him having been raised on a lot of his mommas favorite artists from her teenage years and enjoying them together being a fond memory from his childhood~ but also i think he would enjoy a lot of older music in general, as its very nostalgic for him (and who doesnt love indulging in a bit of that ?)

⋆ i dont think he has a lot of favorite artists, nor is he a superfan of any, but some of them would be Crystal Kay, Selena, Kali Uchis, Red Velvet and 1st gen groups like S.E.S + Shinhwa ! but a lot of what he listens to is whatevers popular or playing on the radio (or even songs his sisters show him !) lol, so he isnt too picky :,)

⋆ listened to a lot of classic emo/screamo bands like Pierce the Veil, Of Mice & Men, Asking Alexandria, as well as Bursters ! probably found the mv for caraphernelia while scrolling through youtube one night and fell down a major rabbit hole, but it introduced him to a lot of bands that got him through middle school :D

⋆ though hes older now i dont think he would ever really grow out of that phase, so his tastes are still similar ! definitely listens to a lot of rock/metal subgenres (post-hardcore, nu-metal, alt-rock, etc-), but i also think hed really like hip-hop too ! doesnt listen to much outside of these genres tho :,)

⋆ imo, some of his favorite artists + bands would be ones like Seotaiji (including his stuff in Seo Taiji & Boys), Bursters, Dynamicduo, Sevendust, Girugamesh and a bit of Pierce the Veil !

⋆ still, he would definitely have his preferences ! ive always headcanoned Slam as being an alt-rock/indie-rock band and so i think a lot of their style would be heavily influenced by all sorts of rock and metal subgenres (i have many opinions about this if anyone was interested in hearing lmao), so i think his own musical interests would be similar to that ! would enjoy anything from stoner metal to midwest emo to post-hardcore lol

⋆ ive mentioned it before in the bedroom post, but i wholeheartedly believe suho would be a major gg fan </3 probably has lightsticks and signed photocards and all the like from his favorite groups lmaooo- he esp gravitates towards a lot of the more fun and feel-good concepts a lot of ggs do, and has stayed up wayyy into the night learning the choreographies more than once :,)

⋆ outside of that though, i think hed be a big fan of dramatic pop ballads + acoustic, coffee shop type music :))) hes also a frequent enjoyer of having world tours in the shower, so songs of that genre are always his go to- but also, imo, he really appreciates the actual talent that goes into some of his favorite songs, and loves listening to ones with meaning or that he can relate to~

⋆ undercover boy group stan for SURE. saw Tvxq’s performance of mirotic on music core when he was little and it absolutely changed the trajectory of his life- hes not embarrassed about liking the music but he IS embarrassed about being a fanboy :,) so his signed Shinee album and misc bg posters are kept wellllll hidden lmao (only jack knows about this, and has gone w him to many a concert as moral support-)

⋆ this is one where i feel like yall are gonna fight me on it but ... hear me out :D between an cluster of things — union stress, caffeine, heavy smoking + drinking, etc — i headcanon seongje as being rllly prone to headaches + migraines, which noise-heavy music wouldnt exactly help-

⋆ w that being said, i can see him gravitating a lot towards more softer, chill, easy listening type tunes ! i dont think hed be too picky about genres, surprisingly (?), rather the sound itself, so his likes range anywhere from old ballads he grew up hearing, to soft rock, to rap !

Weak Hero: Eps 264-265 Reaction

During Baekjin (Donald)'s funeral, everyone in the Union was devastated. But the most devastated was Seokhyeon (Kingsley), who found it hard to accept that he really had to prepare the funeral (oh my god how unfair this world was to these kids).

Whereas Dongha was in tears, while Seongmok, Sehan (Forrest) and Jongyeon (Jack) were too stunned to process the tragedy, Hakho (Jake)'s kindness shone the most during the funeral. In a quick understanding of the human vulnerabilities of the once-omniscient Baekjin and the immovable Seokhyeon, he managed to support Seokhyeon like a friend (and no longer just a fellow executive of the Union) would.

In the meantime, Jihoon (Jimmy) was coping with his belated realization that, true to his name, all he had ever wanted was to be acknowledged by someone as strong as Baekjin (Jihoon's name means "The Will for A Merit/Recognition").

To every Union members's surprise and indignation, Humin (Ben) showed up at the funeral, against his friends' advice. Always being genuine and generous (this is also true to the part of his name that means "genuinely generous") , he was paying respects even to his bitterest enemies.

Being perceptive of the role that Sieun (Gray), and Humin & co.'s in trying to get help for Baekjin that night, Hakho later talked to Humin outside the charnel house. He even asked Humin how Sieun fared, and unfortunately he hadn't showed up to school, and so hadn't Juntae, according to a flashback to Taeoh (Teddy), Juyang (Rowan), Gayool (Gerard) as they talked at school. (WHAT...)

From a hill behind the charnel house, we saw Hwangho and Seongje (Wolf), paying their last respects, or rather, saying a badass goodbye, to Baekjin.

Elsewhere in the city, Sieun woke up and washed his face. But his own reflection taunted him, calling him the seed of all misfortunes since he had caused Juntae, Suho (Stephen) and even Baekjin so much unhappiness. (YOU'RE NOT THE SEED OF MISFORTUNE. YOU NEVER WERE, SIEUN. THIS IS ONLY YOUR OWN DEPRESSION TALKING!)

Sieun couldn't forget Baekjin's last distraught face and words, as he was standing alone and wounded on that road before the tragedy happened. All that Sieun wanted was for the memories to stop but they wouldn't. He tossed and turned in his sleep, beset by the nightmares.

Meanwhile, to Jihoon's frustration, there were already talks from Seokhyeon that the remaining finances of the Union would be evenly distributed, meaning that no further activities would be made in the name of the Union. He understood however, that everyone was still in shock, although he wondered why "that bastard" Hakho spent so much time with Seokhyeon.

Hakho told Seokhyon straightforwardly that it was Baekjin's last wish to dissolve the Union, but to Seokhyeon, it was only right to respect Baekjin by maintaining the Union and only temporarily halting its activities. He refused to accept that this was where Baekjin ended up. (Learn to let go, kid, it's not good for your health).

It wasn't just the Union members' moods that was somber. It turns out that Humin, Hyuntak (Alex/Gogo) and Pilyoung (Phillip) went to the funeral, too.

Hyuntak and Pilyoung didn't go into the funeral house because Hyuntak was only worried about Humin, while Pilyoung was too overwhelmed by his own emotions.

The other Eunjang kids were gloomy too, especially class 1-5 whose two students still hadn't returned to school. Juntae had regained his consciousness (YESSS) but Sieun went off radar completely. So Humin decided to come to Sieun's house after visiting Juntae at the hospital, and the others agreed. (The fact that only Gayool knew Sieun's address broke my heart, Sieun had never really opened up to his new friends. And Humin, you're such a precious human being).

Hyoman (Colton) & co. found Pilyoung, and thought that he looked cooler than Humin, standing alone. But Pilyoung was actually privately grieving Baekjin's death and worrying about Sieun, as he realized that what he was missing was not the Union itself but the sense of companionship. Only Hyuntak knew about this as he found Pilyoung crying in a Dorim street alley the other day. (My goodness I love these small details. ALSO PILYOUNG YOU DECENT KID YOU).

Somewhere far at Donghae Beach Rest Area, a Byeoksan Middle alumni (EDIT: Jihwan a.k.a Jeremy. Also, REMEMBER that he went to Suho and Sieun's middle school) spotted someone that he thought he knew...

WHO WAS IT? Was it Suho? Oh my god.
