Finished my pinup for Barry's John Aman Amazing Man Volume 1 Remastered and Expanded Edition. I absolutely LOOOOVE romance!  Barry wrote his John Aman series with cool characters, great monsters and villans, all packed with tons of action and adventure!  But I really loved how he wrote the relationship between John and Zoey.   Yep, there's swoon-worthy, sweep you off your feet romance, with a healthy dose of humor and passion. I wanted my piece to show that. AND I wanted to draw John with a smirk--hey, it's my thing--get over it.   This has been the first thing I've "arted" on in probably 2 months. I haven't really picked up a brush, pen, camera, piece o' clay, tube of paint, etc. I'd started a series I was soooo excited about, but...it wasn't working.  Nothing about it worked. I realized I hadn't fleshed things out enough--from characters to plot, and most importantly and painfully I realized sometimes the beginning isn't where YOU want it to be.  This story needed to start someplace else.  That meant pretty much scrapping months of work and about 20 pages of finished art.  That was crushing and totally threw me off balance and into a very deep, really dark, seriously nasty spiral. I'm really happy this piece was one of the things that broke me out of the funk.
