Petting Grey Whales in Baja Guests have the chance for whale petting in Baja. They will see dozens of mom and baby gray whales and with a little luck they can actually touch them. The great time for petting the grey whales in Baja is when the calves are just getting curious enough to come right up to the surface and let you pet them as they will be as friendly as can be. This is because the whale moms will sometimes nudge their youngsters closer when it is right.
