So I tried @foodnetwork’s #thekitchen Spring Roll in a Bowl recipe. The pictures reflect His & Hers bowls. The pros it is an easy recipe to follow. I studied you tube videos on fine julienne. My fist attempt at it actually turned better than I thought it would. Thank you @varuninamdar. I learned how to peel a mango with a cup. I followed the recipe, I took no creative license, with only one exception I removed the sriracha seasoning. I kept the jalapeños though. It was bland. I love Vietnamese Spring Rolls. They are a cold dish. This was a warm meal. Spring rolls are normally served with peanut sauce. This meal was served a lime and jalapeño honey vinaigrette sauce....This dish needed the peanut sauce. I was going to post this dish as a fail. My husband said you didn’t fail. There were no Kiki extra. You followed the recipe and the recipe failed us. Mr. Hila is wise. He also said it would have made a better soup. (I will try it come fall) The Vietnamese Spring roll doesn’t need elevation. You can eat a Spring Roll without the dipping sauce and you get a mouthful of flavor. Thank a lot to the herbs in the roll. I cannot explain how bland this dish turned out to be even with the herbs, cucumbers, carrots, mango and dressing mixed together. I am going try a recipe that uses the real flavor profile of a Vietnamese Spring Roll. #homechef #springmeal #organicvegetables #organicfood #organicherbs #recipes #springrollbowl #homecook #juliennecut #julienne #wildcaughtshrimp #brooklyngirlinqueens #brooklynkitchen #queenskitchen #brooklyn #queens https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDRIfjAiDj/?igshid=1edjsoeeq0p4l
