like. i think especially right after november 16th c!dream saw nlm as less of a threat than manberg because he saw c!tubbo as someone that could be reasoned with, compared to c!schlatt (who clearly did scare him for honestly just about the entire time, tbh, and i reeeeally dont think that feeling changes with the revive book deal considering how bad the supernatural stuff freaks him out.) but i also think those feelings change pretty damn drastically by the time he's come up with the idea for doomsday, and that nlm in general presented the greatest threat to c!dream's life compared to either manberg or lmanburg

What do you think about just using a piece of printer paper to protect the nibs?
I don’t find that as comfortable, but yeah, it works as a temporary solution!
Admittedly putting the surface protector on is a huge pain, especially if you want to get rid of as many air bubbles as possible, but I can’t recommend it enough.  About an hour of hassle but it’s so worth it in the long run.
I didn’t expect that post to blow up at all.  Only expected a few friends and friends of friends to see it/reblog it, but your mileage always varies with Wacom stuff.  The more outdated your tablet is, the less you have to worry about nib wear and surface scratching, oddly enough, even the ‘paper-like’ texture Intuos models get more and more ‘rough’ with each new version.  The Intuos 4, which I got in 2011, had that rough screen, and with my regular use the nibs started wearing after several months.  The Intuos Pro I got just last year to replace the 4 after so many years of worn nibs and the surface being scratched, on the other hand, had a much rougher surface and wore down a nib after mere hours, forcing me to finally bite the bullet and get a protector for this expensive thing.  And the crazier thing is that the Intuos 4 actually had a replaceable surface sheet if the surface got too scratched up.  It’s supposedly a real pain to remove and replace, but it’s possible.  The new Pro, on the other hand, has no replaceable surface whatsoever, and this is the one that gets easily scratched, so yeah, good stuff there.  Then you go all the way back to the old Graphire line from the 2000s which didn’t even need replaceable nibs because the things never ever wore down because of the smooth plastic shell they had (Which you could remove if you wanted that “rough” feel, and you could even snap a picture you drew traditionally ‘inside’ the shell and trace it digitally with that.  It was really neat!)  What was I talking about again...?  Oh yeah.
Sorry, didn’t mean to hijack your ask with an addendum, but yeah, even if I was never crazy about the feel of printer paper on a tablet, if you’re fine with that, yeah, it’s definitely better than using the tablet naked!
