#I mean they also could have just made the Targaryens biracial but sOmEtHiNg tells me that was never on the table#asoiaf doesn't share our structure of “race” but it's CERTAINLY not colourblind#And it's a little disappointing that they spurned the chance to explore diversity in a world without our system of white supremacy#Like I'm sorry you can't pull the “colour-blind” card and proceed to reduce the roles of all the characters played by Black actors#just to make room for green characterization that didn't exist in the books#while simultaneously exaggerating the importance of the Velaryon boys' appearances#I'm begging HBO to just take the answer the fandom offered#and establish that Valyrian features are passed down regardless of our world's concept of race#and that either Corlys's mother or grandmother was Black.
