You tightly clenched your trembling fists to your chest, suppressing a terrified whimper as you listened to the brothel madam's devious teasing. You had prayed fervently that nobody would request your services, doing everything you could to remain inconspicuous over the past week, hoping they might see you as more suitable for hard labour; you'd much rather be the lowest servant than do any of this.

Yet, here you were, already with your first client, and not just any client—this man had gone as far as to secure your companionship for the entire day. Such occurrences were rare, even for the most sought-after courtesans in this establishment. You couldn't fathom who this person might be, how he had learned of you, and why he'd spend so much to buy your time.

"Wouldn't you like to know? It's none other than the famous private investigator Jung Wooyoung, known for his significant role in aiding General Park's capture of former Minister Jang. One thing I really enjoy a lot about I-1 and I-2 is a theme of availability and injustice, while always holding characters accountable. For a game that is targeted mostly at the young audience, teenagers and young adults, it does discuss difficult themes of corruption in legal system.

The half of this plot could've been avoided if people with power would care for something apart themselves. It's more of the I-2 theme, rather than I-1, but if at least one person stopped being awful Simeon (Simon) would never become such a paranoid. All this terrible abuse he suffered at the hands of Fifi Laguard (Patricia Roland). The woman that was supposed to care for him and become his mother figure, interrogated him like a convict. But one of the worst things is that Simeon couldn't even trust the police — people whose literal job is to protect innocent — because if he spoke out and sought help he'd be either silenced or investigated by Blaise (I don't have the brains to spell his new alleged name). Just because of some people's greed, he lost his childhood and became paranoid. Yet he still isn't innocent or made out to look like it. The game itself says it. During his quest for revenge he ended up hurting a lot of innocent people, whose fault was literally just being at the wrong place at the wrong time (Jill Crane, Kay, partially Bronco/Horace). It isn't justified, because innocent people's lives were taken because of his desires. And all of this because people with power, those who supposed to protect everyone, we're too preoccupied.

Same can be said for Katherine Hall. Is there a justice about Master getting in jail for a crime he didn't commit? No, and never will. Despite the best efforts of Gregory, Ray (Eddie) and Badd, nothing could be done, because authority to end the investigation belonged to MVK. His perfectionism was put above someone's life. And he got away with it. For 18 years.... Yet game doesn't try to say that Kate should've gone through with killing Dane. Because murder is never okay and because once again, it harms people unrelated to this case.

This is very good moral and very interesting topic to bring up.

I could go on and on about how these two games are about corruption and lies. But one question that applies to every character IMO is Where is a justice and if it even is achievable. Where is the justice for their suffering and should they resort to illegal means to find it?

Howard the duck is autistic both as a metaphor and literally. I once wanted to write an essay on this but i lost inspiration. if it ever comes back istg I'll do it. I'll actually do it.

But, you have to understand, they left you in our hands, and we take care of our patients till the very end. I have some toys, some ropes, and some building blocks... would you like to play with me?

Q: Why is this blog of yours in particular so heavily canon-divergent? A: Because for some reason DC barely did anything with Hiro/Toyman for quite some time, then brought him back and let him fade into obscurity again before finally showing his face again in Suicide Squad kill the Justice League, which was actually a rather refreshing take on the character. I have always had a soft spot for him, so I decided to just take what little there is and slap my own entire spin on it because I do not have enough stuff to work with. We know Hiro likes toys, is smart enough to rival scientists and other high-level intellect characters. And has a very casual and easy-going attitude towards everything. That's it. That's literally it. So we're polishing it up nice and shiny!

Max may have put some distance between himself and the violence of the MFP's responsibilities in order to spend more time with his family, but the roads have become increasingly lawless, the same violence spreading out across the country.

But when Max's partner on the force gets torched alive, the MFP's best driver retires before he can meet a similar fate. When the last vestiges of justice eventually fail the MFP, Captain "Fifi" Maccaffee (who likely served as the stylistic forebear of the rest of the series' leather daddies and S&M getups) tells his officers to do whatever they must to bring the gang down, as long as the paperwork is clean. Much of the film follows the MFP using their scant resources to lock up the Acolytes, but a shortage of courage on the part of the victims allow the villains to walk free, even when the law has them squarely in hand. However, many critics of the time received it this way, and not without good reason. Without these moments of levity and downright strangeness, the film easily could have devolved into a bleak and hopeless slog. There are strange throwaway moments scattered throughout the film: Max's wife Jessie randomly playing the saxophone, their young child Sprog playing with Max's revolver, Charlie's mechanical voice box, and the Acolytes' spontaneous dance moves to name a few. But Mad Max is not without a sense of humor, a twisted and often black humor for sure, but humor nonetheless.
