Year 485.2: Sir Cerdic’s Last Charge
Luck rules in war.
Sir John of Cholderton
Sir Angelo Alivero of Winterbourne Stoke
Sir Caradwen of Broughton
Sir Cerdic of Newton
Caradwen fails at romance and smashes every Saxon in her path (including the pathetic young ones). Angelo bonds with his horse, for how long that lasts. John helps a friend, but not enough to save his life. Cerdic charges into the fray, directly into the great axe of a Saxon berserker. He's dead within the hour.
In the south, Uther’s forces fight the Saxons to a dissatisfying draw. In the east, a piece of Caercolun is lost.
Life Events:
Sir Angelo bonds with his horse Peanut Butter; Peanut Butter dies later that year.
Sir Caradwen holds off marriage for another year; Sir Cerdic petitioned his lord to remarry in the future in spring, but this will never come to pass.
Sir John and Lady Lynelle have a sickly baby boy.
Sir Primus’ legitimate son Primanus, sickly these four years past, dies.
Sir Angelo continues to bear no children despite a very horny spring; his sister has a child out of wedlock. It is unclear how many know the father to be the recently knighted Sir Philip, Angelo’s former squire.
Cholderton and Broughton suffer raids.
In the coming year (486), Broughton and Winterbourne Stoke remain at a normal level of operations while Chiolderton and Newton suffer poor harvests.
Sir Cerdic dies.

Year 485.1: With friends like these...
On stewardship and friendship.
Sir John of Cholderton
Sir Angelo Alivero of Winterbourne Stoke
Sir Caradwen of Broughton, Lady Alainn of Broughton
Sir Cerdic of Newton
Cerdic hosts a funereal gathering, then joins with Angelo to throw a party. Angelo listens to his wife. Caradwen acquires a request but not an invitation; unable to sufficiently comply, she falls into a deep melancholy from which she can be raised only by the combined efforts of her friends (well, the ones who are talking to her right now), her lover, and her mother. John gathers reinforcements to defend his lands from mysterious raiders; the squad drives them off, but is unable to identify them. Cerdic fails to wake up and John fails to remain conscious.

Year 484.2: Ye Olde Saxon Meade Pong
Captured knights come together; the free ones fall apart.
Sir Angharad of Wylye
Sir John of Cholderton
Sir Angelo Alivero of Winterbourne Stoke
Sir Bucky Conklin of Burcombe
Sir Caradwen of Broughton
Sir Cerdic of Newton
In the camp of defeated Brits, spirits are low; Caradwen and Angharad make a new friend, attempt to join a daring (though insubordinate) rescue attempt, and are thwarted by Bucky Conklin. Meanwhile, in the Saxon camp, John brushes again and again with death while Cerdic and Angelo play dangerous party games. King Uther’s army rallies and ambushes the drunk Saxons to death; the squad scores a personal victory amidst the melee. Featuring loyalty, vengefulness, crushes, trophies, life debts, surprisingly minimal drunkenness, an astounding amount of good luck, and a Merlin ex machina.
Life Events:
Sir John nearly dies, but is saved via first aid applied by Sir Cerdic and Lady Lynelle’s chirurgery.
Sir Angharad bears a healthy baby boy; Sir John a sickly one.
Sir Cerdic’s wife Lady Elaine bears twins - a boy and a girl. Elaine herself dies in childbirth, and the boy follows soon after. The girl is healthy.
Sir Caradwen’s strange daughter Abhainn appears to be in good health. She learns the nature of the child’s sire.
Sir Primus’ son Primanus continues to be sickly; his illegitimate son Byron is now is good health.
Sir Moriad’s son Merin is in good health.
Sir Bucky Conklin is married to the heiress Lady Gwiona. Sir Caradwen holds on marriage another year.

Year 484.1: halfway there (livin’ on a prayer)
Well, no one is dead. Yet.
Sir Angharad of Wylye
Sir John of Cholderton
Sir Angelo Alivero of Winterbourne Stoke
Sir Bucky Conklin of Burcombe
Sir Caradwen of Broughton
Sir Cerdic of Newton
A baby is almost identified by Sir Caradwen while a wife is almost acquired by Sir Bucky Conklin. Sir Angelo goes out into the woods for his brother; Sir Cerdic stays in all spring with his wife. Sir John and Sir Angharad throw parties. Everyone’s year is derailed to march north against the Saxons in aid of Cumbria, and all they have to show for it is an ambush, a new enemy, a split squad, and Sir John’s life...though that last hangs by a thread.

Year 481: The Wood of Lost Things

The army is split between the Irish and the Saxons; while Sir Angelo and Sir John are off defending from the former, Sir Angharad, Sir Bucky Conklin, and Sir Caradwen absolutely wreck the Saxons at the Battle of Salisbury, aided in no small part by the newfound inspirational skills of Sir Angharad’s twin brother, Sir Moriad.
