“PAEAPAK” One of the traditions and really a must during the festivities of Ati-atihan! Paeapak or paapak is a quick pray-over session wherein volunteers would allow the image of Sr. Sto. Niño TL “walk on you”. It is believed that once the Niño blesses you through Paeapak, you will not get tired nor get sick throughout your activities for the festival. All efforts in dedication to the blessed Sto. Niño will be blessed, and you will not get sick even if heavy rains would pour down on the procession. This is where the battle cry “Hala Bira, Puwera Pasma!!!” came from. Devotees would brave the scorching sun or heavy downpours with confidence that the blessed Sr. Sto.
