Mental Hai Kya starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao has been in the news for some time now. Following to the release of poster, some people has expressed their opposition to the title of the movie since the matter is very sensitive. While back, Kanagana Ranaut and the makers have met the members of CBFC. Following to the meeting, it has been confirmed that the movie will come with a new name now. The makers have agreed to the censor board here. As a result, the movie has been passed without cuts at all.

The title of the movie Mental Hai Kya has been changed now. Therefore, a green light is given to Kangana Ranaut as well as makers Ekta Kapoor and Jeetendra to release the movie trailer by the board. Title of the movie will be now Judgemental Hai Kya. Trailer of the movie is expected to be seen in coming week. Following to a 6 hour long meeting between Censor Board and makers, decision has been made. However, CBFC head Prasson Joshi has not been present during the meeting. Use of the word ‘mental’ within the movie is expected to be muted also.

Reports have been confirmed by the spokesperson from Balaji already. On the occasion, it has been also said by the makers that there has not been any intention to offend or belittle people with the title. The movie has obtained a U/A certificate now with minor changes. Release of the movie will be seen in theatres as scheduled on 26th July, 2019.

On Monday morning, the makers shared a brand new image, by which the movie’s lead actress Kangana Ranaut will be seen dressed as Jayalalithaa. She will be seen carrying a white saree, a crimson bindi on her brow and a heat smile. Sharing the look from the movie, the actress’ staff on social media, wrote: “Revealing Kangana’s look from the movie Thalaivi on the event of 72nd Birth Anniversary of Jayalalithaa. The movie is predicated on the story of the lifetime of J Jayalalithaa, and touts to make clear the lesser recognized facets of her life.” Thalaivi, directed by AL Vijay, brings onscreen Jayalalithaa’s journey as a stellar actress which was adopted by a robust political profession.

Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for her next ‘Thalaivi’ in Chennai which is a biopic on Jayalalithaa. She has already impressed everyone with her first look and with each passing day, it’s raising curiosity amongst the fans.

Talking about the role, Kangana revealed that she has done a lot of research for this role. The ‘Panga’ actress says, “She ( Jayalalithaa) was not like me. She was a more a glamorous star… somebody like an Aishwarya Rai in Bollywood. It was a very big challenge to fit into those shoes because I’m not known as a glamorous star. There is one common thread, though .She was a very reluctant actor. It is the same with me. I never wanted to be an actor, and that is why we became very unusual actors. I think she always felt that she was worth much more than just being a glam doll [in films], and she became a politician. Like how I became a filmmaker because I felt that being an actress was very limiting for me. So, I think there are parallels”.

In addition to this Kanagana also highlighted how one aspect of their live was very similar. “I think, like every woman, she longed for a family, and she longed for a child. I think there was a time in my life also when I longed for a family. I think some of the married people took advantage of that… There are scenes [in this film] with an actor who is married, and who promises marriage and then goes back on his word. She has to face a lot of public humiliation. I think this is what happens to a lot of the young actresses. It is not something that only we share,” Kangana states. Not only has Kangana been researching well for her role but she has also also undergone a special training for classical dance. Even the director of the movie is all praise for the Padma Shri awardee as he calls her a director’s actor. Kangana is known to bring each and every character of hers to life and one can expect nothing short of that in this one too.

‘Thalaivi’ is set to release on June 26, 2020.
