Spread Your Wings by @myladynoire (5,895 words)
Set before the Finale. Félix uses his Kwagatama to summon his father's memory and has a talk with him.
every wall that i knock down (is just a wall that i'll replace) by @purplecatghostposts (8,355 words)
Now it’s Félix’s turn. Adrien needs to know about his own existence before anything else and Félix wanted to have that conversation himself. Marinette didn’t argue when he told her as much. If anything, she seemed slightly relieved. Félix has been meaning to do it for a long time. Adrien had been at risk if he said anything before, not to mention it felt cruel to tell him when he would still have to bend to his father’s orders until the rings were retrieved. But Adrien wears his own amoks now, making his own choices with no one forcing him to do any of it. All physical risks are out of the way. Félix only needs to break it to him. The problem is that it never seems to actually be the right moment.
Trapped by @trishacollins (13,368 words)
Felix asks to visit Adrien earlier, worried that his twin isn't responding to him on their bond. Gabriel catches him snooping and makes some assumptions about why. It gets worse from there.
hieroglyphics by Anonymous (1,408 words)
Marinette, up late overthinking, texts Félix to ask if he'll move to Paris. (Takes place at some point between Ladybug's battle with Monarch and the pool party.)
never been in love by @bittersweetresilience (1,562 words)
Félix wonders if he has a heart. If he does, it doesn't beat like that.
orbital departure by @bittersweetresilience, @keeperofthebox (2,567 words)
While Félix is visiting, Emilie makes a suggestion.
Eat Your Young by @redundant-lava (704 words)
What was Felix doing during the season 5 finale? He came back to London to hang out with his girlfriend but is straight up not having a good time right now
Pause, Rewind, Play by @piromina (4,717 words, ongoing)
Félix paused, eyes still locked on the pocket watch she held out in anticipation. This miraculous, it meant he could travel in time. To any time he wanted. He could relive so many events, fix so many things he wished had played out differently. He could even see the future.
Amor Fati by @myladynoire (82,940 words)
In which Félix finds out he’s a Sentimonster. A long and painful self-discovery journey ensues. (And Lila is in for the ride).
Hey, Ribbons by childoflightningg (11,553 words)
Chat Noir’s transformation fell away for the last time. A feeble flicker of green, a blur of black zipping away. Ladybug wasn’t sure she wanted to see his identity, but it didn’t matter. Even if she had averted her gaze, she would have heard the gasps, the whispered name rippling through the crowd. Félix Agreste.
I Love You (for senti-mental reasons) by @redundant-lava (1,766 words)
All Gabriel Agreste wants is what is best for his family. Adrien understands this, but Felix has been persistent in interfering with his uncle’s plans, much to Gabriel’s frustration. When Gabriel finally regains possession of both the Graham de Vanilly rings, he decides to have a conversation with his nephew and persuade the boy to see things from Gabriel’s point of view (a Sentimonster story)
bad body double by Ehlihr (7,941 words, ongoing)
New year, new powers, and Marinette's new classmate are proving to be a personal challenge.
I Won't Let You by generalluxun (3,827 words)
After Gabriel's defeat, two individuals not party to the celebration run into each other, and find each other.
Checkmate by theriveroflight (1,575 words)
Running away has consequences.
(sentitwins fic recs) (feligami fic recs)
💥🦐🥂🚨 FELINETTE ZONE 🚨🥂🦐💥
annotated by ritsukies (4,351 words)
Félix and Marinette share a quiet moment together in the shared space of Adrien's bedroom.
Filling space by beforesaturn (comic)
A Felix and Marinette centric story after the death of Adrien Agreste.
Sure, Ladybug by ouijadarling (4,051 words, ongoing)
'We both know it'll happen again.' Félix is an old hand at being kidnapped, mainly because Hawkmoth thinks he and Ladybug are dating, and therefore, knows her alter ego. Every week, a new Akuma wakes him up in the middle of the night for some interrogation, and Ladybug ends up rescuing him. It's starting to get wearisome, and also, Félix has the strangest feeling that the supervillain knows him in some way. And that he's in for a hell of a time this final year of school.
Copycat by imthepunchlord (76,805 words, ongoing)
It was supposed to be quick and easy. Become Adrien Agreste for a week, steal the surviving twin ring for his mother, return and offer back the reclaimed heirloom and be a decent enough cousin that he gave Adrien a week break away from that house. That's how it was supposed to go. Of course, nothing ever goes how it's supposed to go. Not when Adrien goes AWOL on him and he finds a magical ring with a snarky little being asking him to also play hero. Lucky for the little being, Felix is curious and bored enough to try. And who knows, maybe it'll have some perks in messing with his Uncle.
There's This Club At the School by enigmatic_emperor (17,078 words, ongoing)
There's this club at the school which researches the ancient miraculi, a group of jewels that are believed to hold mythical powers. However, it only has three members! When Marinette hears that a new student is transferring to Dupont, she is more than excited to invite them to join the club in a hope that the club could have more exposure. That is, until rumours begin to spread that the new transfer student goes by the name Felix, and has some sort of affiliation with the Agreste's.
When In Paris by Lumienn (13,963 words, ongoing)
Felix comes back to Paris a year after his last eventful visit. This time, he's here to stay for much longer. Between his own personal mission, hanging out with his cousin, being a tourist, and his first Akuma attack, he's got his hands full. But then Marinette shows up... and shakes things up to a whole new level.

Are you currently reading anything?
Be prepared for an onslaught because I am not normal and I read several things at once and that’s not even counting fanfiction! These were all started within this year and I plan to finish them before next!
First section - Sizzle pretends she’s smart and knows things (non-fiction)
A village in the Third Reich by Julia Boyd - very readable and I highly recommend! Really deepened my understanding of the life of ordinary people during the Third Reich. On my need to finish list
How to Make an Apple Pie from Scratch by Harry Cliff - Wonderful and I learned a lot about particle physics from what I’ve read so far!
An Emotional Dictionary by Susie Dent - What is on the tin, words to describe common feelings that you might not have known existed. Less of a read and more of a resource but wonderful nonetheless.
For a recommendation of non-fiction that I would read again, Sapiens : a brief history of humankind and Homo Deus : a brief history of tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari
Second section - Sizzle is a contemporary YA reader through and through (she swears she reads many genres not just YA romance, you caught her at a lacklustre month guys) (she wanted to slam her face into a wall reading Lord of the Flies - she gets its a satire, did not help the feeling) (fiction)
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - rereading with the movie out. As remarkably witty and swoony as ever
One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston - rereading as well because it’s my favourite book by the author. Fun time all around
There’s a couple others but it think I’m dnf-ing them because I know my worth. Please throw me some good older thought-provoking fiction my way I need it >_<. I recommend Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson - gripping murder mystery novel in a writing style I adore (:
Final section - Sizzle faces the haunting sight of her ao3 marked for later list (fanfiction)
All the Missing Pieces by @uptoolateart - I will sing its praises from the rooftop. Amazing exploration of Adrien’s character and how canon things and the sort of au the fic is set in affects things in his future. Love me some adult Adrienette with kids expansion pack
Bon voyage by @keeperofthebox - Quickly ascending the ranks of my favourite fics with each chapter. I love seeing Adrien struggle I guess >_<
Of course I have plenty of other fics marked that I have yet to read or finish because a.time or b.they’re ongoing still.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk and wish me luck in finished all this by December.

Okay I don't know anything about One Piece except oddly specific lore absorbed from friends and the fact that I've thought Koby was hot ever since I saw a photo of him post-glowup randomly
And I'm watching the new show because it seemed cool and I found out Koby's played by a trans guy! Swag right?? So in my head I was like "okay Koby is trans to me now"
But then I recalled the little I actually know about him as a character and realized that HE LITERALLY IS TRANS JUST NOT ON PURPOSE
HOW ELSE DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS

M: "I misunderstood what you needed because I got caught up in my own head. I'm too ashamed to look at you."
A: "You misunderstood what I needed, and it hurts, but no one is trying as hard as you are to understand me, and to love me the right way. I need you. So please stand up and look me in the eye."
M: "When you coax me up, I feel braver. I'll keep working hard to do right by you."
That's what Adrien and Marinette's dynamic has been since the Origins episodes. It's what it was at the end of Season 4, when Chat Noir uplifted Ladybug after she lost the Miraculous. It's what it was during the Kwami's Choice two-parter, when Adrien confessed and Marinette rejected him, only to come around when Tikki revoked her Miraculous.
I don't think this latest trial on their relationship (Marinette lying to protect Adrien in Recreation) is going to be an exception. In fact, I think it's going to be the biggest and most poignant example of it.
I don't have a larger point here, I just needed to point that out. It's all a cycle. It's all Adrien handing Marinette his umbrella, and her truly seeing him for the first time.

This is kind of just an unhinged meta rant about Rymin so do with it what you will. It's about Ryan's parents and how, despite having very little screentime, they really play into the story and the disagreements that Ryan and Min-gi have.
Ryan's dad only has one line and it's to give exposition to the fact that he's from a large family. That's all any of the Akagis say about Ryan. They aren't paying any attention to him or what he's doing in the BBQ scene in the twin tapes. Ryan is the exact middle child, and I think that was chosen intentionally to drive this point home. Them overlooking him leads to a lot of his outbursts throughout the season (quotes may not be exact because im not going back to look) -- "Our parents are probably wondering where we are. Or, at least... yours are." (the old west car), "Why doesn't anyone care about how I feel?" (the art gallery car), "At least your parents actually care about you!" (the mega maze car), and "No one cares about me unless I'm doing... something." (honestly cannot remember which episode and I'm too lazy to look it up). Ryan's parents' absence from book four is purposeful -- their lack of presence says just as much about Ryan as Min-gi's parents presence says about Min-gi.
Ryan has a big personality. He's a performer. He loves dressing up in crazy outfits and he loves looking cool. I don't think these things necessarily stem from emotional neglect as a child, but they are affected by it. He craves attention and he hasn't been getting it, and that leaves him with severe issues when it comes to dealing with his feelings. All of those quotes I mentioned are him lashing out, seeking attention from Min-gi, hoping that Min-gi will notice how much he's hurting from being ignored -- but every time, Min-gi redirects back to his own family issues.
Min-gi is from the opposite situation. I don't have as much to say here because the show is much more blatant about it, but his parents give him too much attention. They hover, they tell him what to do and how to do it. He is being slowly crushed by their expectations. He wants the same things as Ryan -- to make music, to perform, albeit for... lets say artsier reasons than Ryan does. But he's been taught those things are childish. He needs to be the responsible one, and clearly he's the only one with a good head on his shoulders, considering what Ryan is like. He lashes out at Ryan constantly, especially in the early part of the season, for continually dragging him into impulsive plans.
He wants Ryan to conform to societal norms, like he does, like his own parents taught him, so that Ryan will stop getting them into messes. However, Min-gi doesn't see that Ryan's personality and mental health issues don't give him the option to conform (creds to tumblr user vexahlla for that phrasing ... her tags on this post made my brain explode). He says "I couldn't get into uni if I tried" (the mega maze car). This is a whole other rant but Ryan also displays symptoms of bipolar disorder throughout the season which indicates to me that his brain chemistry would not physically allow him to slow down and follow a "typical" life path without genuine help (not the needling Min-gi was doing in the astro queue car). I think these problems that the show alludes to would have been alleviated a lot more if he'd had more help from his parents, but again, he's dealt with emotional neglect since he was tiny.
So Ryan and Min-gi end up as an unstoppable force and an unmovable object (which... now that i think about it... is a pretty accurate description of them as people, too). They both want to play music, but Ryan needs it immediately, because he needs the attention that he's not getting at home. He wants to get away, and fast. However he doesn’t realize that getting away without Min-gi is pointless, because Min-gi is who he actually wants attention from anyway. On the other hand, Min-gi can't leave immediately, especially when he thinks there's a particular life path he needs to follow. Both desperately want the other in their life, which keeps driving them back together, but they butt heads because their upbringings are so opposite.
This issue doesn't exactly get resolved in book four, but it doesn't need to, either. Book four ends with Ryan and Min-gi apologizing, and agreeing to stop sweeping things under the rug, actually try to look at each other fully, and see where the other person is coming from. So it's definitely a start to mending the gap between them and i think that's enough.

So i don’t really know how to articulate this in a way that makes any sense but the juxtaposition of Nya and Kai in Master of the Mountain kind of intrigues me
Nya vibes with the Munce who are big, strong and push through obstacles. They fight emotionally and are fierce. She may not always get along with them because of how they were treating Jay lol but she speaks their language enough to become their leader. The Munce have an emotional depth to them despite their simplicity too in the way they tell stories and deal with problems. Even though they are simple and strong it doesn’t make them shallow
Kai on the other hand vibes with the Geckles who are small and conniving little things. Their culture is superficial because they have all these trials and courts and procedures and things but all of it is ultimately meaningless. It’s all just bells and whistles on premises that don’t actually make any sense. Kai ends up leading the Geckles as their Chancellor and is able to navigate that situation decently because he’s okay at playing the manipulative/cunning game. He’s generally a superficial and vain person who’s actually pretty silly and reckless which matches up with the Geckles’ facade of being organized and smart but in actuality nothing they do has any real logic to it
Maybe something kind of about how Nya has substance to her identity (strength, intelligence, skill, determination, ambition) whereas Kai doesn’t because he relies on the things he likes about himself on the surface (fire, his appearance) to maintain his self worth? Does this make any sense or am I talking complete nonsense rn
It makes the ending where the two cultures meet in the middle and realize they’re super similar really sweet, because Nya and Kai are also really similar despite their differences and they know that already and love each other fiercely so that’s why they’re so easily able to convince the Munce and Geckles to make peace
This seriously might not make any sense so in short this was my face for that entire arc: 🥹

I wish there was a way to differentiate better in media analysis between saying “the author is explicitly saying this” and “the author wants to draw this into your mind/suggest this”
I think of a Tiktok I saw where they pointed out that in ATSV, Miles calls Miguel “uncle” in Spanish, and paired with the fact that Miguel has the same musical sting as Aaron, the film is trying to suggest a parallel between Miguel & Aaron. The film wants you to think about the connections between them. But the comments were all saying, “uncle” in Spanish is just a greeting endearment! It’s not that deep! And right. The movie isn’t trying to tell you that Miguel is Miles’s uncle. It’s just trying to get you to think about it.
It’s the same with Miraculous where Marinette may or may not have given Adrien a senti command to “be himself”. Like I don’t really think it matters whether she actually did or not — the writers put her fingers on the ring when she said it on purpose. They just want to draw the question into your head.
If that makes sense??? Idk i wish this was an easier thing to shorthand. I’d be understood a lot easier if it were.
