Elephants in Asia, have always played a friendly role in human history. They went to wars as #warelephants and made the most formidable wall of barrage when humans needed aid. They became caparisoned and led #templeprocessions , #coronations , even #lastrites when their human friends needed them. . In the past three generations the wild #asianelephant population has drastically reduced to half!! And a big contributor to this reduction is #animalcruelty and incidents similar to the most recent and unfortunate death of the #pregnantelephant in #kerala where farmers trying to save their crops, accidentally killed a pregnant elephant ☹️ . . Is this what are friends for centuries deserve? Does it behoove us humans to mistreat these smart, majestic and benevolent creatures in such a manner?! .
