What to buy in Vietnam: 10 Souvenirs and Gifts to Bring Home (Part 1)
What to buy in Vietnam: 10 Souvenirs and Gifts to Bring Home (Part 1)

Wondering what to buy in Vietnam as souvenirs or gifts for your family? Locals here tell us that picking on or two of these items is a definite must-do in Vietnam – they are so exotic yet practical. Let’s keep your memories with this list of best souvenirs to buy in Vietnam. This first part will include local specialties like local brands of clothes, jewelry, bags, either fair-trade textiles or handmade ones. The second part will focus more on the edible and ornamental side: Vietnamese cuisine and those little cute souvenirs. As we put ourselves in the shoes of travelers, our criteria to choose souvenirs and gifts are: unique, Vietnam-themed, practical, good quality, and lightweight to carry home!
1. Pearls & jewelry from clam

As a tropical country with over 3000 km of coastline, Vietnam owns several coastal areas with warm temperatures, calm water – the perfect environmental conditions for pearl-bearing oysters. Experts say that Vietnam is home to some of the finest Akoya pearls with the rare blue color. For other oysters from the Pinctada family, the high nacre thickness results in a natural, creamish color and a special, high-quality luster. Three provinces with concentrated production areas are Quang Ninh (Ha Long Bay), Kien Giang (Phu Quoc), and Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang). Where to buy: Ha Long Bay:
My Ngoc Tourist Center, Don Dien, Ha Khau Ward, Tel +84(0)203.3511519
Halong Pearl Farm I, Bo Hon Island, Halong bay, Tel +84(0)203.3511519
Halong Pearl Farm II, Vung Vieng, Halong bay, Tel +84(0)203.3511519
Phu Quoc: Ngoc Hien Pearl Farm, Duong To, Phu Quoc, Tel: +84 933 221 221, +84 776 820 999
2. Shoes
In case you didn’t know, Vietnam is a top exporter of shoes and clothes in the world. You can easily find pieces of good quality and reasonable prices from domestic brands and those international brands with a lot of promotions. Fake or high copy of international brands are a problem, so it is wiser and cost-effective to buy local brands. Our most famous ones are Bitis (sports and casual footwear), JUNO (women footwear). Let’s spare your suitcase for these babes! [VIDEO] https://youtu.be/TQKSu-zGYTI Bitis – 2018 The Evolution Where to buy: Bitis: Hanoi (68 Hai Ba Trung street or 8 Hang Dau street). If you are into the silk industry and have time, take a tour to the origin of silk like Van Phuc village (Hanoi) or Bao Loc village (Lam Dong). Or else, these are our suggestions for authentic Vietnamese silk shopping with best value for money! Where to buy: Hanoi:

Taking a tour around Vietnam to discover true beach paradises

Taking a tour around Vietnam to discover true beach paradises

Taking a tour around Vietnam to discover true beach paradises
Given its 3,000-km coastline, the country is the ultimate place to relax on beautiful beaches with smooth sands and turquoise waters.
Despite the recent tourism boom that has turned its popular tourist destinations somewhat boisterous, there is no denying that Vietnam has many glamorous beach paradises spanning from the southern delta to the central coast.
Touropia, a popular U.S.-based travel site, recently released a list of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Vietnam that you should take time out of your 2018 schedule to check them out.

To be honest, Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s biggest island and to its far south, is one of the places overrun by travel fever in recent years, resulting in crowded beaches and busy tourism services.
Fortunately, Long Beach still remains off the beaten track and is recommended by seasoned travelers as an unmissable destination.
Stretching almost 20km along the southwestern coast of Phu Quoc, the beach does not disappoint beach lovers with its turquoise waters, golden sand, swaying coconut palms, and gorgeous sunsets.
It is not crowded, and offers a welcome respite from noisy tourists.

Once a sleepy fishing village, Mui Ne in the south-central province of Binh Thuan has transformed into a red-hot destination for adventure tourism.
That’s why Singapore-based news and lifestyle site Asia One has dubbed Mui Ne one of the best five places in Asia for sports fans.
If you are looking for a pure, clean beach lined with golden sand, gorgeous blue water and coconut groves stretching along the coast, Rang Beach, also known as Mui Ne Beach, around 15 kilometers (9 miles) to the northeast of Phan Thiet, a bustling port city in Binh Thuan, is a top pick.
This seaside paradise has added to its vacation value by offering exciting water sports like windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, and kayaking at prices ranging from VND300,000 ($12.85) to VND500,000 ($21.42) per person.
One of the highlights of the beach might be a traditional small fishing village at the northern end of the beach. It still manages to preserve its old-world charm despite the tourism boom and urbanization.
The coastal city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province has become one of the top vacation destinations in Vietnam and is no stranger to foreign tourists.
If you are bored with crowded tourist attractions such as Vinpearl Land, Ponagar Cham Towers and April 2 Square, Touropia has suggests a lesser-known place: Doc Let Beach, which has been compared with the U.S.’s Hawaii.
Around 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Nha Trang, the beach stretches for 18 kilometers with chalk-white sands and shallow turquoise waters that help it ensure its rankings among Vietnam’s best beaches.
Don’t forget to visit Hon Khoi, the largest salt field in central Vietnam, where mounds of natural salt are manually harvested from shallow fields along Doc Let Beach.
Salt workers, mainly middle-aged women, have to work from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. often in the scorching sun, forcing them to wear conical hats, rubber gloves, boots and facemasks.
It is no exaggeration to say that Dai Lanh, around 80 kilometers (49 miles) from Nha Trang center, is the most unspoiled beach in central Vietnam with its turquoise waters and stretches of white sand.
The World Tourism Organization last year ranked the beach among the breathtaking sights in Southeast Asia that have avoided the tourist rush.

Dai Lanh beach became well-known in 1836 when King Minh Mang, the second emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, the last family to ever rule Vietnam from 1802 until the end of feudal Vietnam in 1945, ordered its picture to be carved into the nine cauldrons placed in the yard of the Imperial Citadel in Hue.
Tourism is not yet popular here, so the services are still modest, but Dai Lanh has attracted many travelers this year thanks to its amazing natural beauty.

Con Dao, a chain of 16 islands and islets, has gone from being a notorious prison during French colonial rule to what it is today.
With improved flight connections from HCMC, Vietnam’s isolated archipelago has stolen tourists’ hearts with its breathtaking beaches, fresh seafood and rugged mountains.
The island is a mysterious untouched paradise that can even be a little scary for those who have read the hellish stories about its infamous prison where the French colonialists incarcerated and inhumanely tortured many Vietnamese freedom fighters.
But do not worry, the war ended decades ago and Con Dao has been transformed into a Vietnamese island heaven.
The 10-km beach running from the base of the Son Tra Peninsula to the Marble Mountains catapulted to global fame when Australian newspaper The Sunday Herald Sun listed it among Asia’s 10 most beautiful beaches in 2012.

The beach still offers a laidback atmosphere and a perfect getaway with its sparkling blue waters, white sands and adventure sports activities.
Don’t miss a chance to get on a parasailing experience on the beach. You can soar in the air and admire the vast ocean view below, watch the 67-meter statue of the Goddess of Mercy situated on the slope of Son Tra peninsula.
Tourists have to pay VND500,000 ($22) for a 15-minute parasailing. Remember that the game is not for the faint-hearted.

A bunch of eight small islands form the Cu Lao Cham Marine Protected Area, a biosphere reserve recognized by UNESCO.
The islands, a 30-minute boat ride from Cua Dai Beach, have been overrun as a result of their popularity among travelers in recent years, prompting local authorities to better control the number of tourists visiting the protected islands treasured for their biosphere.
The place boasts long beaches lying serenely along the crystal clear waters and coral reefs just two meters under the water that make diving here all the rage.
Local islanders are known for their eco-friendly lifestyle. In 2009 they gave up plastic bags and began an impressive campaign to clean up the environment.

Cua Dai Beach near the famous ancient town of Hoi An has been named among the most affordable beaches on earth in the 2018 Beach Price Index compiled by TravelBird, a Netherlands-based travel site that breaks down the daily expenses of a beach holiday on 327 beautiful beaches in 90 countries and territories.
However, the beach was once at risk of disappearing from the global tourism map. In October 2014 huge waves demolished a concrete embankment and eroded nearly 200 meters of the beach for three kilometers. Scientists blamed the erosion on upstream hydropower plants that had robbed the beach of its sand.
Local authorities spent around VND70 billion ($3.08 million) building a new embankment, installing iron pilings and dumping sand in the area to save Cua Dai, which they viewed as a valuable tourism resource for Hoi An.
Last year the beach opened again and welcomed tourists back to enjoy the temperate climate and warm waters after three years of fighting the severe erosion.

Ky Co is a beach paradise in Quy Nhon, a quiet town in the central province of Binh Dinh, that has retained its pristine wilderness thanks to a relative low profile.
A 30-minute drive from Quy Nhon, Ky Co promises to enchant you with its crystal-clear blue waters, calm sea, smooth golden sand, and untouched beauty.
The water has two distinct colors: cyan blue near the shore and deeper blue off the coast. At Eo Gio, you can buy a package tour to Ky Co for VND350,000 ($15) per person. The tour includes a 30-minute motorboat ride, snorkeling in the coral reef and fresh seafood provided and cooked by locals. Tickets to enter the beach cost VND30,000 ($1.32).

The 12-km beach along Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang has found a place on Vietnam’s beach tourism map over the past couple of years, meaning there is no shortage of travel tips when you do your research.
But it also means it has become a bit crowded especially with a recent influx of Chinese and Russian tourists.
On one side is the deep-blue sea and on the other is a busy street covered with an array of bars, hotels and luxury restaurants that operate round the clock.

Where to Stay, and Where to Eat Noodle Soup, in Ho Chi Minh City
For a place with so much history — decades of wartime and occupation have left their scars — Ho Chi Minh City (still often referred to as Saigon) feels surprisingly new. The metropolis is constantly reinventing itself, and when you consider that the U.S. trade embargo was lifted only 25 years ago, and that the majority of the city’s population is under 35 years old, you begin to understand why.
A short period of overwhelming foreign investment, plus rapid urbanization and a booming labor force, has established Vietnam as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, with vibrant, stylish, youthful Ho Chi Minh City at its forefront. And while increasingly taller buildings continue to reshape the skyline, the city remains firmly in touch with tradition. After all, you can still find the best street-side bowl of pork vermicelli in the city (at the intersection of Nguyen Trung Truc and Le Loi) mere blocks away from a sprawling Louis Vuitton store.
It’s that dichotomy — between a 50-cent scooter ride and a $150 omakase, for example — that has turned visitors into residents and residents into the new business owners who diversify the city’s ever-evolving cultural landscape. In particular, Viet Kieu, the children and grandchildren of refugees who fled the country during the war — the same generation that has led much of the Vietnamese renaissance happening stateside (for instance, the poet and novelist Ocean Vuong and chef Dennis Ngo of the restaurant Di An Di in New York) — are returning to their roots and inspiring contemporary perspectives on Saigonese fashion, food and art. Here, a guide to Ho Chi Minh City’s many attractions.
The Myst Dong Khoi
Located just steps from the 68-floor Bitexco Financial Tower, the soaring beacon of downtown, and Ho Chi Minh City’s main commercial drag, Dong Khoi, the 108-room Myst feels like a much-needed oasis in the otherwise chaotic, noisy metropolis. Tropical plants grow wildly from the balconies inset around the building’s white exterior, while inside, the generously sized, minimally appointed rooms — with touches of Vietnamese craftsmanship seen in hand-carved rosewood benches and ceramic drums — are shielded from the onslaught of honks and horns outside. themystdongkhoihotel.com
Hotel des Arts
Ho Chi Minh City has accommodation options for visitors of every budget, but until the Hotel des Arts opened in 2015, it wasn’t easy to find a boutique hotel with both modern amenities and charm. Built in the style of the grand French Indochine-era institutions described in Graham Greene’s 1955 novel, “The Quiet American,” the hotel sits in the heart of District 1 but feels a world away from the tourists and bustle of the city center. From the hotel’s buzzing Social Club Rooftop Bar, which has some of the best panoramic views of the city, you can get a firsthand look at just how much the neighboring blocks are changing day by day. hoteldesartssaigon.com
Eat
Anan and Nhau Nhau
Nowhere is the convergence of old and new Ho Chi Minh City more apparent than on Ton That Dam Street. Here, vendors of the street market Cho Cu (literally Old Market) proffer fried rice-cakes and produce to the sound of portable karaoke machines, while tucked away at the center of the block is chef Peter Cuong Franklin’s pioneering experimental new-Vietnamese restaurant Anan. On the second floor is the more casual, more boozy Nhau Nhau (which translates to “drink, drink”), a retro-style bar outfitted with old Khanh Ly and Mai Le Huyen records, and ceramic tiles that recall the city’s prewar glory. But that allegiance to the past stops just short of the menu, which features innovative mash-ups like banh xeo tacos and foie gras imperial rolls. anansaigon.com
Traditional Street Food
Anyone with even cursory knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is aware of pho (and of how readily it can be found in Vietnamese-American enclaves like San Jose, Calif., and Houston), but in Ho Chi Minh City, you’d be remiss not to explore some of the funkier, more complex noodle soups of the region: a crab-and-tomato broth cradling fresh snails and fried fish cake at Bun Rieu Cua Oc (66 Nguyen Thai Binh); the pork rib and Vietnamese charcuterie in clear broth punctuated with fermented shrimp paste at Bun Moc Thanh Mai (14 Truong Dinh); or the dry noodles with wontons and lardons at Hu Tieu Mi Co Giang (176 Bis Phuong Co Giang).
Little Japan Town
Of the many expat groups in Ho Chi Minh City, the Japanese community is the most visible — particularly within the block of alleys known as Little Japan Town (bordered by Le Thanh Ton and Thai Van Lung). A favorite of businessmen and young Vietnamese partygoers alike, the area is the city’s answer to Golden Gai, Tokyo’s famous district of hole-in-the-wall bars, and it’s similarly jam-packed with izakayas, noodle shops and massage parlors. Look out for Tori Soba Mutahiro (8A/A1bis Thai Van Lung), a tiny restaurant that makes a bowl of ramen — the rich, chicken fat-slick broth sharpened with shreds of fresh ginger — that rivals the best in Japan; Mangetsu shochu bar (at the base of the Azumaya Hotel), where you can polish off your yakitori with a pickled plum sour; and Powers (8A/2B1 Thai Van Lung), a rooftop taqueria where you’ll find Japanese skaters and surfers queuing up ’90s hip-hop on YouTube while downing ice-cold pints of Sapporo.
Shop
Hey Camel
At the end of one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most picturesque residential alleys in District 3 lies the ceramics studio and shop Hey Camel. Using traditional Vietnamese stoneware and glazes, the ceramist Leandro Marcelino brings together local materials and techniques with inspiration from his upbringing in the Canary Islands. His collection of vases and mugs adorned with a singular colorful eye, for example, reference both the Moroccan influences of his birthplace and the Cao Dai religion of south Vietnam. heycamel.com
The New Playground
Streetwear defines the fashion in Ho Chi Minh City, and the scene’s epicenter is the underground mall the New Playground, a maze of stores catering to shoppers with a penchant for cross-body bags and neon green. The brainchild of Ryan Son Hoang, one of a collective of young creative people in Ho Chi Minh City who’ve branded themselves 42 the Hood, the complex is worth a visit (even if you don’t need a new harness) just to observe the style-obsessed youth culture. instagram.com/thenewplayground
Moi Dien
For those with a more polished sensibility, the unisex line Moi Dien, which recently opened its first store, offers sculptural silhouettes and playful pieces in drapey, languid fabrics. The line’s founder, Tom Trandt Minh Dao, a Parsons graduate who returned to Vietnam after his studies and working abroad, is one of a handful of up-and-coming designers and brands (Nguyen Hoang Tu and Aeie Studios among them) who are bridging the gap between the country’s rich history of textile production and contemporary experimental fashion. moidien.com
Doan Lo to Sai Gon Tan Thoi at Rubik Zoo
Ho Chi Minh City might not have a defined gay district, but it makes up for it with a host of new L.G.B.T.Q. venues and parties throughout the city. Within its emerging drag show circuit, the Doan Lo to Sai Gon Tan Thoi (or The Modern Saigon) is perhaps the most authentic and uniquely Vietnamese production. Based in the Southern countryside tradition of “lo to,” a form of cabaret starring drag queens, the show centers on a musical bingo game, accompanied by interactive performances — done to by both traditional folk music and modern pop songs — that carefully reveal the winning numbers. Rubik Zoo, 1 Bis Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street
289e
Independent venues for contemporary art are few and far between in Ho Chi Minh City but one of the most exciting new spaces is the self-described “art bar” 289e. The multidisciplinary venue and cocktail lounge is housed within an old tenement apartment on the second floor of a Modernist cement housing block, and hosts weekly film screenings, musical performances and rotating exhibitions. instagram.com/289e.nct
Suoi Tien Theme Park
There is no shortage of beautiful temples and shrines in Ho Chi Minh City, but travel just 20 minutes northeast of the center and you’ll encounter a very different kind of religious monument: the fascinating, at times eerie, Buddha-themed Suoi Tien amusement park. Here, gaudy, oversize sculptures of dragons and neon-haloed Buddhas lead the way to a water park where slides emerge from sages’ beards. The highlight (if you can call it that) is an underground house-of-horrors designed to evoke a descent through a Buddhist hell. suoitien.com
Southern Women’s Museum
Many of Ho Chi Minh City’s streets are named after notable women, and in 1995 the state took a further step in honoring its female citizens and established the Southern Women’s Museum. The institution comprises four floors of relics and photographs relating to the history of Vietnamese women and their impact on the development and liberation of the country. The ground floor is entirely devoted to the ao dai, the Vietnamese national dress consisting of a side-split tunic and trousers, which has been a unifier throughout the country’s rich, and often difficult, history. baotangphunu.com

Vietnam: Tourism Property Investors Easily Caught in Margin Traps
Strong commitments to tremendous profits in tourism property have resulted in a strong investment trend in the last two years. Most projects used very high returns to impress investors, with some pledging a profit margin of 12 - 15 per cent a year. Experts warned that if customers are not vigilant enough, they will be easily trapped and suffer risks. How to choose a project that is both profitable and safe is a challenge for investors in Vietnam.
Warning
Mr Nguyen Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, said, some investors failed to keep their promise for profits for investors. High room occupancy rate is not equally high in all facilities and investors must be warned of this, he said.
“Profit commitment is a double-edged sword,” said Ms Duong Thuy Dung, Senior Manager of CBRE Vietnam. The commitment for 8 - 10 per cent profit margin is only achievable with ideal market conditions. Where there is competition, the margin may be just 6 per cent, she added.
She predicted that the competition in the second home market will be much fiercer. That means the profit margin will also be affected.
Speaking of margin commitment risks, a representative of Novotel Phu Quoc Resort said that many businesses are working in the “Take money and run” way. What they concern is how to mobilise as much and quick money, build and hand over construction to management units as possible. Management units will have to try but hardly meet their promise to customers.
Michael Piro, Chief Executive of Indochina Capital, warned that “The profit promise of 8 - 12 per cent is unbelievable.” Instead of offering a pledged return rate, real estate developers need to pay more attention to their reputation, need the participation of international management units, and ensure transparency in buying and selling to gain customer trust.
Tighter administration
Mr Nguyen Manh Khoi, Deputy Director of the Housing Management and Real Estate Market Department, said, the Ministry of Construction has appraised 25,000 condotels and officetels since 2015, let alone, tens of thousands of facilities assessed by local authorities. They have focused on Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and coastal provinces such as Quang Ninh, Da Nang and Nha Trang.
Mr Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman and CEO of DTJ Investment and Distribution Joint Stock Company, analysed that the demand for condotels is on the fall and the oversupply risk is potential. This is a time when developers need to demonstrate their credibility and fulfil its profit commitments to their customers.
Experts agreed on the view that investors should be warned of margin traps. Mr Nguyen Manh Ha said, in addition to the condotel model, vacation property needs complete laws and guidelines on investment, operation and servicing.
“In order to ensure rights and interests of investors, State guidance is needed. Sales contracts and authorisation must also be guided with samples to raise funds more easily,” he noted. (Vietnam Business Forum – August 16)

Get your new shoes in Vietnam: Hanoi, Hoi An and Saigon
Get your new shoes in Vietnam: Hanoi, Hoi An and Saigon
In case you didn’t know, Vietnam is on top of shoe export in the world and Vietnam shoe shopping is one of the reason attract tourists come to Vietnam. Many tourists from around the world want to get a pair when they travel to Vietnam. The two main reasons for it is that shoes made in Vietnam have good quality and reasonable prices. Besides, you can also find tons of international brand stores here with a lot of promotions. Let find out where you can get your new shoes in these three most popular cities for shoes in Vietnam.
1. Shoe shopping in Saigon
Saigon is probably in top place for shopping in Vietnam in general. Just like Hanoi, you can always find international-brand shoes in malls or shopping centres. Conveniently located near popular attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh Market, and Saigon Central Post Office, you can get to these centres within minutes by different means of transportation or on foot. Here, they offer a wide array of international brands and also renowned local designs at fixed prices. In addition, going shopping in a mall you can also shop other goods, enjoy amazing food and entertainment centres.
Some places for you are:
Saigon Center – No 65 Le Loi Street, Ben Nghe, District 1
Vincom Centre – No 72 Le Thanh Ton Street, Ben Nghe, District 1
Takashimaya Vietnam – No 92-94 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1
Diamond Plaza – No 34 Le Duan Street, Ben Nghe, District 1
Parkson Plaza – 35 Bis – 45 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1
Crescent Mall – No 101 Ton Dat Tien, Phu My Hung, Tan Phu, District 7
However, there are tons of small hidden stores on the street as well as in the market that sell quality shoes at a better price. Stop by little designer boutiques may be your preferred choice if you want to gain some insight into the modern Vietnamese fashion. You can make a quick tour to cover the most highlight boutiques in a day since most of them locate around District 1. However, the price may not be fixed here but you can always make a bargain if you buy a considerable large quantity.
Suggested boutiques for you:
Libé Workshop (Women shoes) – 1st floor, 26 Ly Tu Trong Street, District 1 or 1st floor, 52 Nguyen Trai Street, District 1
L’Usine (Women and man shoes)- 70B Le Loi Street, District
Devon London (Women shoes) – 151/13 Dong Khoi Street, 2nd Floor, District 1
For man shoes, you can find places outside shopping malls that offer some international famous brands, especially sneakers. They may have some rare shoes with a cheaper price. Whenever there is a new sneaker release at these stores, they are the top of mind of a Vietnamese sneakerhead. Here are some names for you:

Real ‘n’ Rare (for Jordan, Adidas Originals, Nike) – 3F Tran Cao Van, Phu Nhuan District
2. Shoes shopping and making in Hoi An
Hoi An ancient town not only is famous for its ancient architectures, local lifestyle, local people, and local food, but it is a heaven for shopping as well. The ancient town is well-known for its custom-made leather goods and clothes. In every corner of Hoi An’s Ancient Town, you can find dozens of these leather and tailor shops, lined up along the streets. They provide you with a massive catalogue and you would certainly feel confused. You are free to pick whatever style you want as a large number of wonderful copies of expensive designer shoes are available. Then, you are able to choose every aspect of your shoes, ranging from the colour of the leather to the type of buckle and sole. Beside shoes, leather bags are also the reason for people to come to these stores.
Although in Hoi An, you have to wait only 24 hours to have a pair of shoes done, you are supposed to order them in advance to avoid being in a rush, especially when you find your shoes not living up to your expectations and need some modifications.
The most famous ones here:
Friendly shop – No 18 Tran Phu Street
Yaly Couture – No 385 Nguyen Duy HieuStreet
An Nam shoe shop – No 647 Nhi Trung Street
The First Shoes Shop – No 275 Nguyen Duy Hieu Street
3. Shoe shopping in Hanoi
Just like Saigon, you can find your new pair of shoes in every shopping centres and on stores on the streets. There are also world famous brands (including luxury ones) and some not that famous worldwide. Shopping centres and malls in Hanoi for you:
Lotte Centre – No 54 Lieu Giai Street, Cong Vi, Ba Dinh District
Trang Tien Plaza – 24 Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem District Hang Da Galleria Shopping Mall – Hang Da Street, Cua Dong Ward, Hoan Kiem District
Vincom Mega Mall Royal City Read – 72A Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan District
AEON Mall – No 27 Co Linh Street, Long Bien District
There are also some local brands for Vietnamese export shoes with very reasonable prices, some also have international brands with a lot of promotions. However, be aware of fakes as not all small stores can be trusted. Here are some suggestions for shoe stores in Hanoi:
Juno – No 46 Hang Da Street, Cua Dong, Hoan Kiem District; No 32 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ngoc Khanh, Ba Dinh District; No 62 Dai Co Viet Street, Le Dai Hanh, Hai Ba Trung District.
Eva Shoes – No 126 Ba Trieu Street, Hai Ba Trung District
Hoang Phuc – No 190 Hang Bong Street, Hoan Kiem District (for Kappa); No 79 Hang Bong Street, Hoan Kiem District (for Dr Martens)
Navy Studio – No 71 Tran Quoc Toan Street, Hoan Kiem District.
Besides, you may want to discover the street named Hang Dau in the Old Quarter dedicated only for shoe selling. The vast majority of the Hanoi shoe stores are located in the Dinh Tien Hoang Street, on the East side of Hoan Kiem Lake and very close to the water puppet theatre. For women shoes, you can find the many shops on the narrow streets of the old quarter of Hanoi. But the best place to buy women shoes (dancers, high heel shoes, party shoes, etc…) is the Hanoi night market. However, the night market only opens on weekends after dark.
The article aggregated from multiple sources.
