REVIEW: Kiss Number 8 by Colleen AF Venable & Ellen T. Crenshaw This book honestly made me upset and really angry but I think that was the intention. It started off so innocent and simple. A story about teenagers just being teenagers but then it got dark and very confronting. I think this is a very important book for people to read as it's real and what a lot of people in the world go through when it comes to identity. As a person who is LGBTQ+, this made me really sad. I feel lucky I was supported when I came out but I also know that not everyone has that experience and that just isn't fair. There are a lot of terrible people in this book and at times it was hard to read what was being said but in the end I know this is important and is what some people have to hear all the time. Friendships, memories and heartbreaks.  A girl finding out about her family secrets and finding her true self.

Not the best or greatest book, but I enjoyed the very dramatic parts.  Well written and constructed.  I think that for me, I wouldn’t read it again but I would suggest it to others.

I was lucky enough to meet up with @etcillustration at her book signing @bnhuntingtonbeach to get my copy of the latest tome she illustrated signed, and, to finally, after several years, give her a copy of my Drawlloween 2015 book that she helped inspire me to make. I threw in my other three books as well, because without her sharing her knowledge with me while talking to her at her DesignerCon table in 2015, I don’t think I would have gotten over the hump to actually put a book together.
