looking at pictures of my childhood home on zillow and no im not crying because the wall that was full of little 5 year old me and my grandmas handprints in purple and blue paint was painted over and they paved over the spot where my childhood cat was buried and do they even know about the drunk driver that crashed through the privacy fence one night when I was 6 and I slept through the entire thing but woke up to the big hole in the fence or do they know about when I was 8 and for some reason decided to eat a whole pack of bubble gum then got sick all over the carpet in the hallway so that's why it was stained pink is that why they ripped it out and put down hardwood floors do they have any idea about when i accidentally pressed the garage door clicker when my grandma was pulling out so she crashed through the garage door and i got in so much trouble because it cost so much money to replace

The sounds of crashing pins from the other lane echoed loud when Dhruv picked up his ball. This was a good break from things he figured for the both of them. Bouncing on his toes a little with a quick exhale he lined his shot, pressure was on and he knew he couldn't mess this up especially with Kitty watching him. Coolness was on the line here. Something he didn't possess much off to begin with but it's fine, he got this. Or at least so he thought. It wasn't a terrible shot, but with three pins remaining and his turn already over, he turned around with a slight shake of his head. "Those are super glued down, that's the only explanation." He didn't need check to the scoreboard to know who was in the lead but eyes darted up anyway, "Okay, I'm not terribly behind, and no gutterballs so that's a win, right?"

The fact that someone so young had volunteered to follow the Catalyst only to get attacked by some hunters astounded them. They wished they could've done something to protect her. Still, it was a relief that she had joined the pack. Noel was confident in Nico's skills.

why was it ever since he had gotten the cat, leo would come home from a shoot and his cat have disappeared? almost like clockwork. he walks into his apartment, and low and behold, no lixue. at least this time it wasn't snowing. finding a snow white cat in the middle of the winter with snow on the ground was not something that leo wished on anyone. now with the knowledge he had, he turned right back around and headed back towards the company.

when in doubt....lixue would be hanging out at the company building.

it didn't take him long to get back down there. it wasn't like he lived far away. but it was still annoying. "lixue. where did you go? could you please stop running off" he called out in english. a cat whose name is chinese but who listened to english and lives in korea. poor cat had to be confused. "where could she have gone?

While having food delivered by folks on skates as they sat around appealed to them greatly the lack of a car threw a wrench into that idea, but a little thing like that couldn’t bum them out, not when they had another set of wheels, cooler ones. The skating rink was where their heart lay anyway. Wearing groundbreaking florals that would have Miranda Priestly roll her eyes given the season, Mason effortlessly and oh-so-cooly skated backwards and forwards, and side to side too, all directions weaving through people, and he did that for a couple rounds bobbing their head and humming along to the music that blared from the speakers, until a face made them turn to a sharp halt. “Yo! KitKat!” they yelled as Kitty’s form came into sight, or maybe she was leaving their line of sight, Mason couldn’t tell but waved at her anyway leaning against the barriers of the rink, “Sooo, I don’t have a car but like can I get some fries? Feels like there’s a zoo in my stomach the way its rumblin’”

Keep in mind this playlist is based off what we loosely know of his character, and the order of which I explain and connect lyrics will be out of order because (insert reason here) <3

1. Mad World (Tears for Fears)

This song represents the feelings alienation that Henry feels from the rest of society; The world in his point of view being ‘wrong’ and what furthers this idea is a point in the song where the lyrics go:

‘When people run in circles, it’s a very, very—mad world’ -Mad world

The line, running in circles, is an illusion to monotony, a kind of cycle that continues endlessly, this really connects to Henrys speech when eleven confronts him in the rainbow room: “Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, weeks, Months, Years—Decades. Each life a Faded, lesser copy than the one before, wake up, eat, work, sleep, reproduce and die.” -Henry

Another lyric that really stands out to me, is the line in the song, ‘Made to feel the way that every child should—Sit and listen, sit and listen.’ This particular line alludes to the saying, children should be seen and not heard, which of course applies not only to the children of hawkins laboratory—but also their elder counterpart, Henry, who is forced to ‘sit and listen’ and remain complacent to a life that is not his own, as well as the actions of others.

Two scenes that reminds me of this lyric is when 002 is being punished for hurting eleven, the expression on Henry’s is almost shocked, being forced to witness the brutality of the lab, having to stand by with the others in silence; having to accept what was happening.

The scene in the rainbow room where they are playing chess and Henry proposes the idea of escape really emphasizes the ‘sit and listen’ line, because as a result of Henry’s meddling, trying to intervene and help eleven with her test, he was punished for it. As a result of his unwillingness for complacency the both of them are put in danger.

“I wanted to help, but it only made things worse.” -Henry

‘All around me are familiar faces, Worn out places, worn out faces—Bright and early for their daily races—Going nowhere, going nowhere.’ -Mad World

Okay so these lines have multiple meanings, the first, ‘all around me are familiar faces’ refers to the fact that henry has been imprisoned at hawkins laboratory for 20 long years, only ever seeing the same people as he could never leave.

The second part, ‘Bright and early for their daily races’ speaks of the routine of the laboratory, not only Henry but the other subjects as well. The word ‘races’ could also be referring to how the children are in a constant race or contest, to do well, to try to win papa’s affection. But this word faces has a double meaning, it’s as if Henry is racing against the time, trying to save eleven from getting killed by her fellow test subjects.

The last line can be said for both Henry and 002, this ‘going nowhere’—both in different senses as 002 wants to be the best of his kind and wants to leave the laboratory and fulfill his purpose while being continually denied, and Henry wants to escape the laboratory and to secure his freedom, which he never actually gets to do as he is banished to the upside down.

Neither of them complete their goals which really goes along with the somber tone of the song, this kind of pervading hopelessness that you cannot escape from.

the sound of mews makes vienna stop in their tracks on the way home from the bookstore . a swallowed gut feeling says stay , but there is no culprit of sound . looking up at the nearby tree , vienna wonders if it’s climbed up nearby , but once the sound starts up again , they realize it’s coming from down below grated street at the catch basin . heart begins pounding . if staring up at the sky a moment prior had told vienna anything it’s that a storm is coming . when they finally see the kitten with their own eyes , covered in soot , and crying for help , they can’t help but wonder what happens if when said basin collects with storm water . 

vienna had only ever remained cool , calm , and collected in other people’s crisis . in their own , she’s more of an avoidant , but having to face this head on has proved panic stems from their chest . the emergency phone call is a frantic one ... and even though they had ensured that the fire department was on the way , vienna has trouble believing there would be a pep in their step for a small animal . maybe it’s just because she comes from a town that was practically burnt to crisp . in her eyes it’s understandable that they would prioritize fires , but even still , they had to try . it is why when the fire truck eventually rolls up , they find a blonde flat on their stomach , face pressed to the grate , arms reaching desperately beneath the surface .
