Beyblade 30 Day Challenge - Day 5

Question - Favourite female character?

Metal Saga answer: Much easier than the boys question, Sophie of Excalibur. I can't put my finger on it, but her personality just exudes likeability. I like her intro scene on a cliff edge with the oceanic archaeology (the shipwreck White Grand Cetus uncovers) and she does very well complementing and counteracting Wales, which helps make them so great as a duo. Much like all of Excalibur, she was utterly convinced that Konzern was undefeatable to the point of near-arrogance until they saw it for themselves and only a "it can't be!" could come out, but this only acted as a spur for further effort and improvement. Wonderful voice and looks too. Her (and Wales') dynamic with Julian Konzern (and Klaus) is my favourite in all the Metal Saga. The Fallen Emperor is my favourite Beyblade episode ever partially because of this. She would fit as a gem out of Land of the Lustrous, 'cause she's one half of a twin jewel (I regret nothing).

Burst answer: Again, easier than the boys question. I've gone with Gumita, the only enjoyable member of the Wild Bey Gang. She always seems uninterested but willing nevertheless which helps towards having a personality I both like and can somewhat relate to, something I value a lot. Sort of reminds me of myself. The Battleship Cruise Arc was her at prime when she along with Tobisuke stowed away to back gang leader Ranjiro Kiyama. Good thing Kristina Kuroda didn't kick them (and Naru Akabane) off. That one hat scene wasn't shabby either and the much deserved unbridled fury against Suoh Genji was just hilarious.

I should point out that voice and looks contribute to my favourite bey boys selection too. That's how Faust almost dethroned Damian as best bey boy in my mind.

You can’t buy a personality or why I hate Julian Konzern

Disclaimer: if you like him or if he’s one of your faves that’s completely okay and I respect your opinion but I personally can’t stand the guy

Okay so if you’ve been following me for a while you know that I can’t stand Julian Konzern’s spoiled a** and seeing @just-a-beyblade-blog post inspired me to make my own so here we go

I can tolerate characters being selfish sometimes I can tolerate spoiled characters I love Yu he’s my fave but I understand why someone would call him a spoiled brat however Yu has something that Julian himself admitted he doesn’t.

Now for my point we need to look at the motivation of the other “evil” teams in metal masters shall we?

We have Team Lovushka who yes they cheat but they have a motivation they have a goal they’re doing this to accomplish their ambition and big dream to go to space. That’s why they do what they do. They have a motivation a goal an ambition.

Now let’s look at team Garcia: Whats their goal you ask? Well one of the oldest motivations in human history. It’s human instinct. They’re trying to survive no matter the cost. Survival instinct is the oldest in us humans

Now let’s look at Team Starbreaker. Yes even them. What’s their goals you ask? Well everyone has a different goal. Zeo wants Toby to get better. And Ziggurat wants power for which he uses all 3 but especially Damian. Even if Jack is an instrument Zigguart uses you can still see he has his own goal. Self expression even if it’s a weird form of it you can still see ambition in him. Id argue that even Ziggurats power hunger is more of a genuine motivation than...

All this talk about motivations goals and ambitions clearly is leading to something and it’s a big reason why I can’t stand Julian Konzern. He said it himself he’s beyblading just so he can say he’s the best at it. He’s not having fun he’s just doing it so he can tick it off a checklist he has.

Now you might be saying “but dj wanting to be the best is a genuine motivation” yes it can be but not in Konzerns case. Let’s take Masamune as an example. If you know me you know I’m not his biggest fan but here he is the positive example.

Masamune wants to be the best. He wants to be the No1 beyblader. But why does he want to do it? Because beyblading for him is fun, it brings him joy he is passionate about it so he wants to get all the achievements a beyblader can get.

Julian on the other hand just wants to be the best for the so he can flex. Just so he can say “oh another number one moving in to the next thing I can hire people to teach me”

Also can I comment that he ain’t even doing a good job at it. Like gravity destroyer is a powerful BEYBLADE but every time Julian uses it it feels like the noob that picks the character with the highest skill set and then spams a button until they win. Like I’m convinced he just payed someone to make the BEYBLADE with the most abilities they could think off but that’s just my speculation and I’m getting off track here.

And Ofc THERES the deal with Sophie Klaus and Wales. If I was Sophie and Wales I’d be pissed to be known as “Julians twin Jewels” when he does nothing and has no skill they could’ve been known as “Europe’s twin swords” or whatever but instead they’re in the shadow of someone who doesn’t even try and has no ambition whatsoever and then this dude has the audacity to go against you and join the evil guys because “uwu my assets are frozen” like yeah we know you’re nothing without money grow some backbone Julian

If you read this until the end you have my love and respect I guess I got carried away with ranting about a spoiled rich kid from a spinning tops anime
