Okay so, someone asked. here it is, straight from the msg i sent to my partner about it:

you know how in ballet there are some very drastic school of thoughts that hate the idea of ballet-sequences allowing more modern styles? kind of like ignoring the neo-classical style that is emerging in the ballet community. Now obviously they'd be doing some competitive dance things, and perhaps we could even invent some "new dance/ballet style" to fix he vibe or just new rules for competitions. That's free range still to me.

i just think raven would be for the purest form of it, with a training style reminding that of the russian/japanese schools of ballet. So the torture and pain and cult style stays and obviously they'd still be the highest scoring team/school during dance competitions becuase !! of course !! and then there'd be foxes with the obvious issues they have and neil is just a great dancer. There'd come less the point of 'he was destined to be x role', even if he could be the 'generally acrobatics-assigned guy' instead of the 'lifts-guy' and so on but it's less important in dance so it wouldn't matter that much. But still, for Ravens it DOES!!!!

Andrew could still hate the ballet and do it, and it would still be a waste because he's good. scarily so. But he never seems to add pathos and emotions or just enough strength behind his movements to fully be part of the choreos untill he does and people ??? love it ???? because he communicates so much (which andrew hates because. hes supposed to be a mystery).

and then kevin broke idk the knee or something and he used to dance as lifter and acrobat and he cannot because it's a fucking hell of an injury (idk which proper injury yet, becuase you're supposed to be able to come back from it) and ravens let him go because he's gone for, he'll never dance again they say. But he does. He relearns everything on his dumb side even if he did not think it was allowed and he starts everything again. And perhaps it could be less public figure than he is in canon but. but. let's picture something koreansurvivalshow-style as championships, or even just a parallel universe where people cared enough about dance to actually keep up with that world yk

everything else stays. The university setting (the dance companies belong to the university kind of like the cheerleaders), the mafia even because honestly ??? it could still be a thing. the trauma.

except they cannot punch eachother during championships. But they can try sabotaging, yk. running low on chalk, undoing some stitches in the costumes

They still train a lot. Pilates, yoga, ballet, modern, gym, water for the flow. They're still doing all of that and trying to live a normal life and learn how to exist as they are and look for freedom. excpet it's dance and nicky at some point deadass starts crying because drew has a solo and fucking gives his all to the music and nicky is low-key a whimp

people, do we have a aftg!ballet ff? because i can see it all in front of me (one interaction and i'll share my idea /hj) but I doubt i can write it out both for time as literally full on planning capabilities
