New Zealand's Star Pacer Ruled Out Of T20 World Cup 2024
Kyle Jamieson ruled out of T20 World Cup 2024: New Zealand cricket has been dealt a significant blow with the news that fast bowler Kyle Jamieson will miss the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. This setback is a result of Jamieson’s recurring back injuries, which necessitate a year-long absence from cricket. The Kiwi pacer could potentially miss up to a year of cricket due to another stress fracture…

Can I request #4 for Jerena? 💖
This summer marked the fourth year Olivia went to summer camp and, although Serena was used to it, it never got any easier for her. She was a nervous wreck for four weeks every summer and, because she didn’t work in the summer, she had even more time to worry about Olivia.
Jamie suggested they go away for a couple of weeks to reconnect as a couple and forget about the outside world and Serena was more than happy to oblige, especially because her uncle owned a cabin that was half an hour away from Olivia’s camp. “In case Olivia needs me,” she had told Jamie and Jamie had to remind her yet again that Olivia was at camp with Alex, Elliot, Abbie, and Casey and there was a very slim chance that she would ask Serena to pick her up.
“But I can still visit,” Serena pointed out. They were in Jamie’s truck on the way to the cabin and Serena attempted to distract herself with a paranormal podcast despite the fact that a story about a red-eyed creature in the woods was not what Jamie wanted to hear on the way to a secluded cabin.
“Sure, babe. We can visit,” Jamie responded although she had no intention of letting Serena embarrass their daughter by visiting on any other day that wasn’t Parents Weekend. Olivia called every morning and sent them pictures every night. She was having the time of her life swimming and kayaking and telling ghost stories around the campfire with her friends, but Jamie knew Serena was going to worry regardless and she found it endearing how protective Serena was of Olivia. “Question. Does your family ever stay in hotels or Airbnb or anything like that? Is there somewhere your family doesn’t own property?”
“Nothing in red states. My mom doesn’t like being surrounded by conservatives,” Serena searched her purse for a hair tie so she could put her hair up in a ponytail. The humidity had taken its toll on her curls and they were starting to frizz.  “This isn’t my parents’ cabin, though. It’s Uncle Ted’s. You met him at our wedding. He’s the long-haired one who smuggled weed across the border in a surfboard back when he was 19.” Uncle Ted was yet another one of the Benson cast of characters that Jamie had met at their wedding. It was that day that Jamie learned her wife was actually one of the most normal members of the Benson family. “He’s had this cabin for 30 years now and he’s always let Kyle and me use it whenever we want to get away.”
Just as Jamie had suspected, the cabin was luxurious and about twice the size of their apartment. Jamie was in awe of the kitchen and spent most of their first day getting use out of the expensive cookware and kitchen appliances while Serena spent her time in the hot tub in the master bedroom. “This one’s indoors, Jamieson,” Serena pointed out when Jamie went upstairs to bring her some gummy worms and wine. “No getting chased by bears this time.”
They spent the second day in bed which ended with Serena knocking out early. Jamie was lonely without her favorite person to hang out with, but she patted herself on the back for a job well done. She had worn Serena out in the best way possible so she decided to go downstairs for a celebratory snack. But it was while she was in the kitchen that she heard a noise coming from outside. She wanted to think it was a bear or some other woodland critter, but her mind shifted to the podcast that Serena listened to in the truck and she was afraid to look out the window and see a pair of glowing red eyes. Or maybe it’s an axe murderer.
She left her snack in the kitchen and immediately went upstairs to wake Serena. She shook her gently but it wasn’t enough to wake her, so she made another attempt by shaking her just a little harder.
“Jay?” Serena struggled to open her eyes. “What’s wrong? Did Olivia call? Should I go pick her up?”
Jamie attempted to remain calm, but Serena could tell that she was worried. “Olivia is fine. Babe, I’m gonna need you to stay in here. I think there’s someone trying to get in.” When they got married, she had made a vow to protect Serena and that was just what she was going to do. Uncle Ted was a baseball fan and there was an autographed bat on display that Jamie had every intention of using so she could protect Serena.
“A bat?” Serena shook her head. “My sweet Jamieson.”
“Where are you going?” she asked her wife when she disappeared into the walk-in closet. “What if there’s an axe murderer? I’m going to need you to stay in here and call 911. I can take care of it. It’s too dangerous for you to go downstairs, Ser Bear.”
The possibility of an axe murderer entering their cabin didn’t seem to phase Serena and Jamie realized why when she saw her tiny wife emerge from the walk-in closet carrying an assault rifle. “He has an axe. I have this. Who do you think is gonna win this battle?”
“Uncle Ted has an arsenal in that walk-in closet,” Serena told her as nonchalantly as if she were telling her about her uncle having a sports memorabilia collection. “My parents don’t own guns but my grandpa and Uncle Ted take the second amendment very seriously. Grandpa taught me how to use one of these when I was 8.”
Jamie followed Serena downstairs, still in awe of how calm and collected her wife was. “Babe, let’s just call 911. You don’t know what this man is capable of.”
But her 5’5” 108-pound wife was in Rambo mode. “It wouldn’t be the first time I shot an axe murderer, Jamieson. You remember the story of what happened when I was ten. Let’s not get the law involved yet. You know how we handle things in my family.”
That’s exactly what I’m afraid of. What kind of woman did I marry?
As soon as they reached the living room, they heard a rustling sound on the porch. “Jay,” Serena whispered. “Get behind the couch. We didn’t lock the door. He’s gonna come in. He’s just stalling to terrorize us. The camp is nearby. I have to take out this man so he doesn’t hurt my wife and my baby.”
She had always thought it sounded like a cliche, but Jamie truly felt as if her life was flashing before her eyes. She saw her childhood summers and moments she spent cooking with her grandma. She saw her first kiss and the first girl she fell in love with, but most importantly she saw Serena. She saw little glimpses of their time together from the day they met at the coffee shop to how beautiful Serena looked when she walked down the aisle on their wedding day. Serena was everything she had ever wanted and, with Olivia, Jamie had the family she had always dreamed of.
She looked over at Serena who was standing with her gun pointed at the door. Her wife was ready for anything which, in turn, made Jamie feel as if everything was going to be okay. They were going to survive the night; however, when the sound on the porch went from a rustling to the pitter patter of small feet, her wife gently set the gun down so it was leaning against the wall and slowly made her way toward the door.
“Babe?” Jamie asked. She wasn’t sure why her wife had let her guard down but she decided to catch up to her.
“The lads!” Serena said before flinging open the door to reveal four plump raccoons walking around on their porch. “Jay, get the two plates I have in the refrigerator and come join us outside.”
It wasn’t the most unusual thing that had happened in their marriage nor was it even the most unusual thing that had happened that night, so Jamie felt it was easier not to ask questions and just get the plates like Serena had asked.
The plates were filled with grapes and an assortment of Serena’s favorite cheeses and, when she brought them out, Serena kept one on the table and set one down on the ground. The raccoons immediately flocked to the plate and Jamie felt as if the sight before her was both cute and terrifying at the same time. My wife is a raccoon whisperer.
“Take a seat,” she told Jamie before biting into a piece of smoked gouda. “Welcome to the 2 a.m. Cheese and Grape Society. The lads and I are giving you an honorary membership.”
Jamie popped a grape in her mouth. “How do I get a full membership? Is there an initiation ritual?”
“Just bring us more cheese and grapes when we’re finished and you’re in.” Serena picked up another grape and held it up to Jamie’s mouth so she could feed her. “Don’t think I’m doubting your abilities as the stud I married, but last night I wore you out and I couldn’t sleep so I fixed myself a snack. The air was so crisp and clean so I decided to sit outside and the lads took it upon themselves to join me. I wanted to be a good hostess so I brought out a plate for them and, thus, the 2 a.m. Cheese and Grape Society was born. They must have remembered and wanted to have another snack tonight.”
“Ser?”
“Hmm?” Jamie watched as Serena tossed a grape into the air and attempted to catch it. The grape bounced off of her chin and was soon devoured by one of the raccoons.
“Had someone told me the second day of our vacation would start with having you in the shower and end with you aiming an assault rifle at the door and then us sharing cheese and grapes with raccoons, I wouldn’t have believed them. I don’t know why I wouldn’t have believed them seeing as, with you, nothing is out of the realm of possibility.”
They stayed outside talking until the sun came up. They told jokes and stories and revealed things to each other that nobody else knew. She couldn’t stop smiling when Serena recorded videos of the raccoons to send to Olivia and when they FaceTimed each other right after Olivia woke up. Jamie knew Serena would always be a mom first and it warmed her heart to see how happy Serena was when she saw Olivia on the screen. Serena was a mom, a wife, a sharpshooter, and a raccoon whisperer all in one and Jamie loved her more with each thing she learned about her.

Bangladeshi player defends Mushfiqur Rahim’s “handling the ball”
by referencing Angelo Mathews’ “timed out” dismissal during the World Cup.
In the history of Test cricket, Mushfiqur Rahim set an unwelcome record when he was dismissed for “obstructing the field.”
Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicketkeeper for Bangladesh, set an unwelcome landmark by becoming the second batter to be ejected in Test cricket for “obstructing the field.” He moved the ball away from the stumps with his hand after blocking a delivery from Kyle Jamieson on the opening day of the second Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Dhaka.
Tumblr media
Spinner Mehidy Hasan defended Mushfiqur during the press conference following the day’s play, stating that the senior cricket player’s actions were not deliberate. While discussing Mushfiqur’s incident on Wednesday, he also brought up the ‘timed out’ dismissal of Sri Lankan hitter Angelo Matthews in the Cricket World Cup 2023.
“Look, this one just happened naturally; it wasn’t intended. No one desires to go knowingly. Throughout various gaming scenarios, a lot of things are racing through one’s head. At the press conference, he stated, “Today with Mushfiq bhai, it all happened in a flow. In the World Cup, we got a timed-out dismissal against a Sri Lankan batter in our favor.”
“I have to decide quickly what I can and cannot do while I am batting after making a shot and the ball is getting close to the stumps. He didn’t do that on purpose, for sure.”
Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan combined for five wickets to help Bangladesh rally over New Zealand, who were suffering at 55-5.
In the opening day of play in Dhaka, an incredible 15 wickets fell, as the hosts were all out for just 172 in an innings in which Mushfiqur Rahim became only the second batsman in Test history to be removed for blocking the field.
After that, Mehidy and Taijul plowed through New Zealand in the last session, but poor light forced an early end.
After Taijul dismissed Tom Latham (4) and Henry Nicholls (1), Mehidy removed Devon Conway (11), Kane Williamson (13) and Tom Blundell (0) to completely destroy the tourists’ early lead.
After the game, Mehidy remarked, “We thought we could make life difficult for them if we bowled in the right areas.”
“We had trouble with their spinners. Our bowlers felt more confident that we could get more out of this surface because we are very familiar with these conditions.”
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, stumps were drawn with nine overs remaining, Daryl Mitchell on 12 and Glenn Phillips on 5.
Earlier, after the hosts chose to bat, Mitchell Santner and Phillips grabbed 3-65 and 3-31, respectively, while Ajaz Patel got 2-54 for the tourists as they dominated in their attempt to tie the two-match series.

Despite Joy's 86, Phillips' four-for holds Bangladesh in check.
On the opening day of the Sylhet Test, New Zealand’s unexpected hero with the ball was Glenn Phillips, who restricted Bangladesh to 310 for 9. Middle-order batsman and occasional off-spinner Phillips finished the day with 4 for 53 as New Zealand orchestrated a batting collapse that began at the close of the second session. Phillips has only taken two Tests, and this is the first time he has been…

Yeni Zelanda'nın sağ kol süratli bowling oyuncusu Kyle Jamieson. — AFP/DosyaYeni Zelandalı Matt Henry, sağ dizindeki yırtık sebebiyle Hindistan'da düzenlenecek 2023 ICC Dünya Kupası'ndan çıkarıldı ve Pakistan'a karşı oynayacağı eleştiri maç öncesinde Yeni Zelanda ekibindeki yerine Kyle Jamieson getirildi.İki ekip, 10 takımlı turnuvanın yarı final mücadelesi için Cumartesi günü Chinnaswamy Stadyumu'nda oynayacak.Yeni Zelanda Kriket Ekibi'ndan (NZC) meydana getirilen bir açıklamada, Henry'nin çarşamba günü Pune'da Cenup Afrika'ya karşı oynadığı maçta sakatlığının, MRI taramasında ikinci aşama alt yırtık bulunduğunu göstermesinin peşinden oluştuğu doğrulandı ve bu durumun iyileşmesi için iki ila dört hafta gerekecek.Internasyonal Kriket Konseyi (ICC), "Blackcaps için 13 ODI oynayan Jamieson, Çarşamba günü Cenup Afrika'ya karşı Pune'da alınan yenilgi esnasında Henry'nin sağ hamstring sakatlığı sebebiyle elenmesinin peşinden Etkinlik Teknik Komitesi tarafınca onaylandı." dedi.Bengaluru'daki Yeni Zelanda teknik direktörü Gary Stead, tüm takımın Henry'yi düşündüğünü belirterek, "Onun için canımız sıkıldı" dedi.Şöyleki devam etti: "Matt uzun süredir One Day tarafımızın fazlaca mühim bir parçasıydı ve bu turnuvanın iş sonuna geldiğimizde onun dışlandığını görmek son aşama hayal kırıklığı yaratıyor."NZC'den meydana getirilen açıklamada, Jamieson'un Perşembe günü geç saatlerde Bengaluru'ya geldiği ve Cuma günü takımla antrenman yapmasının beklendiği açıklandı.Ek olarak Stead'e gore sağ kolu süratli atıcı, gerekirse Cumartesi günkü Pakistan maçına çıkmaya hazır."Kyle şeklinde klas bir oyuncunun kanatlarda beklediği için şanslıyız" dedi."Becerileri ve fizyolojik özellikleri onu devamlı topla tehdit ediyor ve turnuvanın ilk iki haftasında bizimle antrenman yapabilmesi de bir avantaj" diye ekledi.

For a couple of weeks every summer, Serena would return to her childhood home with Jamie and Olivia. She’d spend her days either poolside or at the beach with Jamie while Mr. and Mrs. Benson took Olivia to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and all the other places grandparents in the LA area take their grandkids when they want to spoil them. With less than a week left until they were scheduled to fly back to New York, Serena expected to work on her tan by the pool while sipping sangria, but Jamie had other plans for them.
She wanted to get some use out of the gym in the basement of the Benson house-the gym that was bigger than their apartment back in New York.
“No,” Serena groaned. “I’m on vacation, which means I’m not supposed to do anything strenuous, Jamieson.”
“Babe, you don’t do anything strenuous when you’re at home, either.” Jamie pulled Serena in so she could give her a kiss on her temple. “Your doctor told you to start doing some cardio. You can either start in your parents’ gym or in public where strangers can see you when you’re out of breath.”
Serena narrowed her eyes at her, trying to look angry, but her expression just made Jamie laugh. “You used to be nice, Jamieson. That’s the last time I let you go in with me when I see my doctor.”
Her yoga pants and sports bra were the only things Serena liked about exercising. Getting new workout clothes gave her a reason to go shopping and she made sure to pick out a cute, matching set.
Jamie had suggested she get on the treadmill but she hadn’t specified which setting to have it on so Serena set it so that she could walk slowly without any incline. Her baby was just a few feet away from her, getting a lesson on bicep curls from Jamie. Olivia was using two-pound weights in comparison to Jamie’s twenty-pound weights, but for a thirteen-year-old, Serena felt it was pretty impressive.
“My strong baby,” Serena said adoringly, still moving at a snail’s pace on the treadmill.
“Mom,” Olivia groaned. “I’m not a baby. I’m trying to get strong here.”
When her mom and brother walked into the gym, Serena knew her leisurely walk on the treadmill would be over. Her mom wasn’t one to exercise, so she sat at a table with a glass of wine and her iPad.
“I’m 67,” Melanie told her kids when they tried to get her out on some of the gym equipment. “I don’t need to work out at my age. I just need to make sure I have the number of a good plastic surgeon.”
“Keebler, what are you doing?” Kyle asked as he turned up the setting on the treadmill. “Don’t bitch out. I know you can go faster.”
And she would go faster, but only because she wanted to shut him up. She was slightly out of breath after less than a minute and she knew she couldn’t hide it from him. “Damn, Serena, your lungs are worse than a smoker’s.”
Serena stopped the treadmill and held on while she tried to catch her breath. “Fuck you, Kyle,” she panted.
It had been enough exercising for her for one day, but when Serena saw Olivia move up to the three-pound weights, she felt inspired to keep going for her daughter. The speed of the treadmill wasn’t as fast as when Kyle had set it; however, it was still fast enough for her to jog. She was pushing her limits and she actually felt good while exercising.
…and the view wasn’t bad, either.
With every bicep curl, Serena saw the muscles in Jamie’s arms flex. She knew her wife was strong. Strong enough to carry her. Strong enough to hold her up as she pounded the strap into her with Serena’s back against the wall. Serena tried to shake the thought from her mind. Time to concentrate. But with every bicep curl, Serena’s mind wandered to the previous night when Jamie was on top and using her arms to hold herself up so she could enter Serena at just the right angle. Serena had caressed her wife’s arms, felt how strong and hard they were. Her mind had already wandered to how strong and hard Jamie could be…somewhere else, when she felt herself lose her footing and slide off the treadmill.
“Babe!” Jamie set her weights down and rushed over to her.
Serena tried to hide how much pain she was in, but when she tried to get up there was no use in trying to hide it. She had hurt her wrist once by falling off a skateboard when she was a kid, but even then she was able to get up and dust herself off. This time, the pain was excruciating.
“I think it’s broken,” Serena winced.
“I’m gonna pick you up, okay?” Jamie knelt down so she was eye to eye with Serena. “Don’t put any weight on your wrist. Just lean on me.”
“Your strong arms are what got me into this mess and now they’re saving me,” Serena slightly chuckled.
“Oh, Serena,” Melanie sighed. “Did you fall off because you were staring at Jamie?”
“Good going, Keebler,” Kyle shook his head, not even bothering to look in her direction. “You still can’t control yourself? Busting your lip over Becca wasn’t enough?”
Melanie set her iPad down and walked over to Serena. “I should take her to the emergency room.”
“I can take her,” Jamie insisted.
“No, no, it’s fine. You stay here with Olivia,” Melanie said as she examined Serena’s wrist. “I’ve been on a first name basis with the ER staff since the early ‘90s because of these kids. I know the drill. Olivia, get your mom’s phone and her purse. Jamie, carry her to the car.”
“It’s not my legs that are broken,” Serena reminded them. “I can still walk.”
“Fine then,” Melanie winked at them. “Jamie, you can carry me instead.”
“Mother!” Serena gave her wife an apologetic look, but Jamie didn’t seem to mind a single bit. She was used to Melanie’s flirting and knew it was all harmless even if it embarrassed Serena beyond belief.
After getting her mom’s phone and purse, Olivia hugged her as close as she could. “I love you, Mom. Are you going to be okay?”
My baby. Serena kissed her cheek and was surprised when Olivia didn’t rub it off. “I love you, too, Olliegator, and I’m going to be just fine. I promise you.”
Kyle grabbed one of Jamie’s old hoodies that Serena draped over a chair to wear after her workout. “It gets cold in the ER. You should take this with you.”
“Aww, you love your sister,” Serena teased him. Had she not had a broken wrist, she knew Kyle would have retaliated by smacking her with one of the sleeves.
“You know how I know your mom is gonna be okay?” he asked Olivia. “It’s because her spongy bones will enable her to heal quickly.”
“Serena does not have spongy bones!” Jamie said in her wife’s defense, although she was trying to stifle her laughter.
“I used to go with her to her ortho appointments when we were kids,” Kyle pointed out. “Her orthodontist said she’s a medical oddity. One night without her retainer and Ser will have a snaggletooth.”
Melanie smacked her son upside his head. “Kyle, be nice to your sister!”
Kyle chuckled as he remembered that life altering day at the orthodontist’s office. “Spongy bones and the fact that she still weighs like two pounds. Mom, are you sure she wasn’t a coke baby?”
“Mom!” Serena glared at him. “Tell him I wasn’t a coke baby!”
“Well…” Melanie tried not to look Serena in the eyes as she helped her put the hooded sweatshirt on. “Considering it was the mid-’80s and I didn’t even know I was pregnant until I was four months along, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”
Serena shoved her arm through the other sleeve, no longer caring about the pain. She wanted to get out of there and she wanted to get out of there as quickly as she could. “Can’t this family ever tell nice stories? And you people wondered why I wanted to get adopted by Danny Tanner when I was a child.”
“Maybe you already are adopted,” Kyle pointed out. “You don’t look like Mom or Dad. Not to mention Mom and Dad are tall, me and Lexie are tall, and you’re only 5’5”.”
“If I was adopted, then why do I look exactly like Grandma, you dumbass?” Serena was about to lunge at him when Melanie pulled her back, careful not to hurt her wrist.
“Jamie, help Serena to the car,” Melanie said to her. “And be grateful Olivia is a dream. My kids are idiots. My idiots, but idiots, nonetheless.”
