Happy second day of @kyokao-week!  Enjoy my angst with a happy ending hanahaki fic <3
Rating: T
Pairing: KyoKao
Word Count: 1803
Excerpt:
Kaoru measures how he falls in love in little moments.
The brush of a hand. The sly curve of a smile. The intelligent furrow of a brow.
Kaoru would chock such things up to an accident, to typical reactions of any normal conversation, but not with Ootori Kyoya.

A New Artform | KyoKao | KyoKao Week 2019
Rated: G | Words: 5222 | AO3
Ages of quiet flirtation and admiration between himself and Kaoru had not gone unnoticed, even if at the end of the day his being a ghoul left Kyoya’s heart insatiated and his arms empty. At least now Kaoru would know why he’d never dared make a move for more than inside jokes and niche conversations. The occasional brush of his hand and an intense stare.

June 15th: Tradition/Celebration – Our final day centers around another hallmark of the Ouran lifestyle, in that there is always a tradition or nearby celebration to adhere to. Do you imagine there being any particular traditions Kaoru or Kyoya feel strongly about? Are there celebrations they either loathe or look forward to?  Let your feelings run wild!

2/2 not sure what happened, but I wanted to let you know my friend and i are making a Kyokao week! It's Kyokao-week on Tumblr and @kyokaoweek on Twitter and we're looking for prompts ❤️. The best thing we can do about shitty people is enjoy the thing we love even more aggressively, you know?
Oh yeah, I entered on my main account, which I post my fanfic on! I’m so happy that there’s going to be one, and I’ll be sure to post some of that Good Gay Shit here too.
If any of my followers are interested, then they should definitely check it out and give some suggestions!

Happy @kyokao-week!  I’m skipping around a bit as I catch up, so here is Day 6: Joy/Memories.
Did someone ask for mutual pining?  Cause we’ve got mutual pining.
Rating: G
Pairing: KyoKao
Word Count: 1168
Excerpt:
Now, Kyoya gasps air into his lungs, hunched over with his hands on his knees. He snatches his glasses off, sweat causing his normally immaculate hair to cling to his forehead, shock and exhaustion making his face look open and so young.
Tall and thin, his lean muscles flex under the tight stretch of his shirt, sweat causing the fabric to cling to Kyoya's broadening shoulders with every movement. Kaoru is certain he's never seen Kyoya like this before. He certain no one has.
Kaoru's eyes are wide, ears deaf to the roar of the crowd and the cheers of his club members beside him. His own heart pounds, mind swimming with one question:
Was Kyoya-senpai always this handsome?

It’s March, so you know what that means: it’s time to reveal our seven prompts for KyoKao Week!  This event will include art, fics, vids, edits, meta, playlists, and anything else you can think of!  Be sure to hit us up on here and on twitter if you have any questions.
Remember, the prompts are meant to inspire rather than constrict; don’t feel beholden to them if you’d like to do something else!
June 9th: Decadence / Indulgence – Do our boys indulge in their feelings privately, or do they make themselves known? Does Kyoya take to spoiling Kaoru in the extreme? Or is it the unexpected lack of ostentatious behavior that catches the boys’ attentions? Interpret this as you see fit, and make the prompt your own!
June 10th: Horror / Mystery – Have you ever wanted to create a crossover into another universe, and bring Kyoya and Kaoru with you? Is there another anime or manga you’d like to see them within? Maybe the Host Club takes on a particularly ambitious theme for their clients, and the results are more than anyone could have bargained for… Tells us your ideas!
June 11th: Meetings / Partings – Day Three focuses on all of the ways in which Kyoya and Kaoru come and go in each other’s lives. Do you imagine this occurring during their Ouran years, or well after? Do they seek each other out at reunions? Is there pain and frustration that makes it all the more difficult for either of them to go?
June 12th: Generator/Free Day – Day Four is a bit of a wild card! Follow the link to our prompt generator and create your KyoKao work off of the prompt your given or create one of your own!
June 13th: Sacrifice / Give-Take – Have any of Kaoru or Kyoya’s personal sacrifices stood out enough to move you? Does their friendship or intimate relationship have a special give-take component that you just can’t get enough of? Please share it with us!
June 14th: Joy / Memories – Where do the happier moments from their years together come into play? As adults, do they ever reminisce over laugh-worthy club days? Or even in high school, are there memories from the early days of their friendship that Kyoya or Kaoru keep in their hearts?  Explore to your hearts content!
Rules:
Please use the hashtag #kyokaoweek and be sure to @kyokao-week if you would like your work to be reblogged or retweeted!  We will also be checking the KyoKao tag regularly, since we know this website is becoming exceedingly terrible to navigate.
We will continue to reblog/retweet content after the end of the week.
We look forward to it!

Where's the link to your prompt generator?
Hello, Anon!
Sorry it’s taken so long to return your question. I hope this reaches you soon!
The answer is that our prompt generator doesn’t have a link as of yet, but we will be posting it on the afternoon/evening of Tuesday, May 21.
We’ll be adding to it up until the start of KyoKao week, and if you have any ideas you’d like to see included, feel free to send them our way!

hi!! I think I want to participate in kyokao week but im not super confident of my characterisation of any of the ohshc characters, especially since as anime characters their personalities tend to be melodramatic and im worried I won't be able to find the balance between accurate-to-anime and just cringy 2009 fanfic-esque. lmao this is really specific but tl;dr, ive been away from ohshc long enough that im worried the characterisation within my possible entry will be off :\
Hey fam!
That’s completely alright!  There’s no “right” way to write a character, especially with Ouran being around for as long as it has been.  We welcome everyone and anyone’s interpretations of the characters - as long as you are enjoying yourself and having a good time, that’s all that matters to us :)

Hello darlings, thank you so much for the KyoKao Week!! Quick question, is there any word limit? A min or max we should be aware about?
Hello, hello!
There is no word limit on your creations!
Please feel free to work within the boundaries you feel most comfortable with. It’ll be wonderful adding your work to the KyoKao canon regardless of its word length. :)
And you’re so very welcome! We’re just as excited as you are that KyoKao week is happening!
