Napovedujemo: LAAX Open od 13. do 18. januarja 2020

Leto je okoli in eno najbolj prestižnih evropskih snowboard tekmovanj, bo tudi to sezono na sporedu kmalu po novem letu. Kot smo že vajeni, bo snowboard elita okupirala snowboard park in največji evropski halfpipe, ki se nahajata pod vrhom  Crap Sogn Gion in objektom GALAAXY na švicarskem smučarskem središču Laax. Svetovni in olimpijski prvaki in prvakinje, predstavniki novih generacij in slavna imena, ki v tem športu kaj veljajo, se bodo pred polnimi tribunami spopadli za freestyle krono.

Tekmovanje, ki šteje tudi za svetovni pokal FIS v kategorijah slopestyle in halfpipe, bo s denarnim skladom 200.000 frankov privabil znana imena tega športa, pa čeprav zmaga na tekmovanju Laax Open že sama po sebi športnikom pomeni zelo veliko. Imena minulih dobitnikvo odličji na tem tekmovanju so dokaz, za kako pomembno tekmovanje gre: Kelly Clark, Chloe Kim, Natasza Zurek, Jamie Anderson, Arielle Gold, Enni Rukajärvi, Peetu Piiroinen, Iouri Podladtchikov, Ayumu Hirano, Kevin Pearce in mnogi drugi. In še nekaj tistih, ki so se v preteklosti tega tekmovanja že udeležili? Isabel Derungs, Doriane Vidal, Silje Norendal, Liu Jiayu, Danny Davis, Andy Finch, Shaun White, Chris Sörman, Roope Tonteri, Stale Sandbech, Mark McMorris, Max Parrot, Scotty James in še in še.

Ne pozabim omenit, da Laax Open še vedno slovi kot tekmovanje, ki freestyle postavlja v prvo vrsto. Triki in vratolomni, dih jemajoči skoki, ki jih profesionalci izvajajo v zraku, navdušena množica navijačev in sodniki, ki poskušajo čim bolje opraviti svoje delo. Pa ne le to, tudi vsaj en "powder day", ki je vsem udeležencem tekmovanja postal nekakšna tradicija, pa vožnja v dolino po progi P60, na kateri se nahaja več kot 50 objektov za zabavno drsenje in izvajanje trikov.

In kaj se dogaja v dolini? Freestyle dogodki slovijo po dobri zabavi in v Laaxu ni nič drugače. Zabave z DJjem, nastop berlinskega electropop banda MIA. ter letošnja sprememba razporeda - ogled nočnega halfpipe finala, ki bo potekal ob spektakularni razsvetljavi, v največjem evropskem halfpipu. Tega gotovo ne gre zamuditi.
