Day 8: Dharamsala – Dalhousie: Check out from Dharamsala and drive to Dalhousie. This is a drive of nearly 3.5 hours. Check into a hotel on arrival in Dalhousie, a hill station named after Lord Dalhousie, British Governor-General. Dalhousie is surrounded by varied vegetation – pines, dodders, oaks and flowering rhododendron.

Day 10: Dalhousie – Amritsar: Check out from the hotel in Dalhousie after an breakfast and start for Amritsar. This is a drive of around seven hours. Check into a hotel on arrival in Amritsar. Detailed Itinerary: Day 1: Leh: Arrive at Kushok Bakula Airportin Leh. On a clear day the flight to Leh is quite sensational. From one side of the aircraft you can see the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum at a distance and from the other side you can see Nun Kun massif. Transfer to a hotel in the city on arrival. Leh is at an high altitude and the body needs time to acclimatize. So, have some relaxing time in the hotel after arrival. Sip in some tea and have a nice lunch.
Towards the evening visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. Have a nice Ladakhi dinner. Overnight in Leh.
Day 2: Leh – Sham Valley: Check Out from the hotel and start for Sham Valley – a drive of nearly four hours. Start the drive along the Leh – Kargil highway. On the way, stop at Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, nestled deep in the Himalayas. Drive some 4km further and you can reach Magnetic Hillwhere laws of gravity are defied.
Drive further on the highway to reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Just before you reach Saspul, you take a detour to visit Likir Monastery, one of the most active monasteries in the region. A colossal image of Maitreya, installed out in the open here, is a real attraction.
Resume the drive along the River Indus afterwards to reach Uletokpo. En-route you can choose to visit Ridzong Monastery. After all these visits drive a little further and check into a camp hotel. Have a nice dinner. Overnight in Sham Valley.
Day 3: Sham Valley – Lamayuru – Leh: After breakfast head for the 11th Century Lamayuru Monastery. On the way you should not escape the mesmerizing moon landscapes, named do because these look similar to the land formations as seen on the moon.
Lamayuru is located along the plain valley with mountains surrounding it on all sides. Have a look at the monastery. Start the return journey to Leh. First significant sight on the way back is that of Alchi Gompa complex. Dating back to 11th Century, this complex of temples is the most celebrated of Ladakh’s monasteries. Drive straight from Alchi to Leh. Check into a hotel on arrival. Have a nice dinner and retire to your room for a comfortable overnight sleep in the hotel.
Day 4: Leh – Khardungla – Nubra Valley: After breakfast, head to Nubra Valley, situated at a distance of around 120km, but which takes around five hours to reach. The route to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La, the highest motorable road in the world at 5,602m (18,390 ft) and around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif.
Resume the journey afterwards and reach Nubra Valley, popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. Nubra Valley is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000ft. above sea level.
Check into a camp hotel in Nubra Valley. Walk around the small villages and interact with the locals. You can choose to visit a Ladakhi home. Have dinner at the camp hotel. Overnight in Nubra Valley.
Day 5: Nubra Valley – Leh: After breakfast at the camp hotel, go to Hunder where you can ride a double humped Bactrian camel on the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snow capped mountains on the horizon. It is amazing to see sand dunes at this altitude.
Drive to Diskit, headquarter of Nubra Valley. Stroll around the bazaar observing the shops and local people going about their daily chores. Diskit is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. After a visit to monastery, drive back to Leh through Khardung La.
Check into a hotel in Leh on arrival. You can relax in your room and enjoy a nice dinner. Overnight in Leh.
Day 6: Leh – Pangong Lake: After having a nice breakfast in the morning, start for Pangong Lake, brackish water lake with a width of 5-6km and a length of around 130km. Two-third of this lake lies in China.
On the way to Pangong, visit Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh. Driving further on the route with picturesque landscape, you come across Thiksey Monastery, an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. After visiting these two monasteries drive further towards Changla Pass (5486m). This is a long easy ascent through winding roads. The route passes through Sakti Village.
You can stop for some time at Changla Passand then visit the village of Tangtse, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Pass through several more villages and all of sudden you get a view of Pangong lake situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 meters) behind the hills.
Check into a camp hotel on arriving at Pangong lake. Have a nice dinner at the camp hotel. Overnight at Pangong Camp hotel.
Day 7: Pangong – Leh: Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and later we drive back to Leh en-route visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Drive further to Leh and check in at our hotel for Overnight stay.
In the evening you can stroll around the market place for some last minute souvenir shopping. Overnight in Leh.
Day 8: Leh- Onward Destination: Check out after breakfast to go to the airport to catch your flight for onward destination.

Kerala Beaches for Tourist

Detailed Itinerary:
Cherai Beach
Day 1: Kochi – Cherai Beach: Arrive in Kochi and straightaway drive to Cherai beach. This is located at the north end of Vypeen Island in Ernakulam district, a little more than 35km from Kochi, and a drive of a little more than an hour. Check into a hotel or resort on reaching at Cherai Beach.
Lined with coconut tree and green paddy fields, Cherai is a unique combination of sea and the backwaters. You can enjoy swimming, surfing and sunbathing at this picturesque beach, which is almost 15km long. You can also walk to the Munabam beach, situated at the northern end of Cherai Beach (2km). This is where River Periyar flows into the Arabian Sea.
Have dinner at your hotel. Overnight at Cherai beach hotel/resort.
Day 2: Cherai Beach – Alleppey: Enjoy a lovely sunrise at Cherai beach. Have breakfast and check out from the hotel. Drive to Alleppey, a drive of close to 2.5hours. Check into a hotel or resort on arrival in Alleppey. Immediately after settling in the hotel go out and board a private houseboat for a lunch cruise on the famous Vembanad Lake. Spend a few hours cruising on the backwaters, the waterways which has brought the epithet ‘Venice of the East’ for Alleppey. Disembark from the boat late in the afternoon.
Enjoy a sumptuous and unique Kerala style cooked dinner. Overnight in Alleppey.

Day 3: Alleppey: After breakfast at the hotel embark on a full day sightseeing of Alleppey. Start with the beach in Alleppey, situated quite close to the city. Beach looks quite beautiful even though it is generally quite busy on weekends and public holidays. There is a public park, with lots of games and rides, made quite close to the beach. There is a lighthouse also located a little inland to the beach. This lighthouse, built in 1862, has a museum attached to it. You can enjoy good views of the sea if you can climb more than 300 stairs to reach its top.
There are quite a few old temples in Alleppey. These are not just places of religious importance, but also of architectural importance. Some such temples are Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple, Sree Subramanya Swami Temple, and Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple. Go and visit St. Andrew’s Basilica Arthunkal, a 16th century built church, which is revered by the locals for its famous bleeding statue of St. Sebastian and healing powers of the church. Close to this Church is another fabulous beach Andhakaranazhi Beach.
Return to the hotel or go to a restaurant in the city. Have a nice dinner and retire to your room for an overnight sleep.
Chinese Fishing Net on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake in Kollam
Day 4: Alleppey – Kollam: Check out after breakfast and drive to Kollam, also called Quilon. This is a drive of close to three hours. Check into a hotel on reaching Kollam, a coastal city located on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake. Immediately afterwards start a sightseeing tour of Kollam.
Kollam, which was a flourishing business port city in ancient periods, is famous for its cashew business and there are over 600 cashew processing units in the city. You can visit one to understand the processing and buy some cashew nuts too. Keep this for late in the afternoon, around evening. But to begin with, make a visit to Munroe Island, a small island located at the confluence of Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River. The only way to reach the island is by boat.
Afterwards, during afternoon go and visit the beach and see the beautiful sunset. After visiting cashew processing units and buying some, go and have dinner at one of the restaurants. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Kollam.
Day 5: Kollam – Kovalam: Start after breakfast from Kollam and head to Kovalam, a drive of around 2.5 hours. Check into a hotel on arrival in Kovalam. After some relaxation move on to explore the beauty of Kovalam. Visit Lighthouse beach, quite popular among the tourists. Bathing or swimming is, however, not advisable here because of high tides. You can walk down from here to Hawa beach. Towards the evening you can opt for a spa session at your hotel or at a spa outside. Have a nice dinner. Overnight in Kovalam.
Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Thiruvanathapuram
Day 6: Kovalam – Thiruvananthapuram – Kovalam: Get up quite early and take up yoga classes with the sun rising in the backdrop. Get back to a room, get ready and have your breakfast. Afterwards go to Thiruvananthapuram, capital of Kerala. This is just 16km from Kovalam. The first place you should visit is Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, supposed to be one the wealthiest temples of India. The temple has Lord Vishnu in sleeping position. Go and take a guided tour of Padmanabhapuram Palace, the royal residence of the yesteryear Travancore rulers. It is known for intricate wooden carvings.
Have lunch at one of the restaurants. Later, you should visit Napier Museum, which gives a good glimpse of the history of Kerala, particularly Travancore rulers. Thiruvananthpuram Zoo is also nearby and if you are willing you can visit that.
You should go and explore Shanghumukham beach, with a famous sculpture of a mermaid. The beach is a perfect place to enjoy setting sun. Return to your hotel in Kovalam. Enjoy your dinner. Overnight in Kovalam.
Poovar Island
Day 7: Kovalam – Kanyakumari: Check out from the hotel in Kovalam after breakfast. A drive of more than two hours will bring you to Kanyakumari, place where Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean meet each other. On the way, you can visit Suchindreem Temple. Check into a hotel on arrival in Kanyakumari.
After settling in the hotel, move out and go for a visit to Vivekananda Rock. Visit the Gandhi Memorial Temple, and make it a point to visit Devikanya Temple. Look at the stunning sunset and return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner. Overnight in Kanyakumari.
Day 8: Kanyakumari – Poovar: Check out from the hotel in Kanyakumari after breakfast and drive to Poovar. This is a drive of around two hours. Check into a hotel on arrival in Poovar, a popular tourist village situated at the southern tip of Thiruvananthpuram.
Poovar has an estuary which connects with the sea during high tides. Neyyar River passes through Neyyattinkara taluk into the Arabian Sea near Poovar. Poovar is known for swaying coconut palms, endless golden sands and lush flora. Spend the day enjoying in and around Poovar Island. Have dinner and overnight in Poovar.
Day 9: Poovar – Thiruvananthpuram: After breakfast check out from a hotel in Poovar and drive to Thiruvananthapuram Airport and catch a flight to your onward destination.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: New Delhi: Arrive early in morning in New Delhi and drive straight to hotel. Relax for some time, get fresh and have a sumptuous breakfast. Later, embark on a sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Start with Qutab Minar and other ancient and medieval period monuments surrounding it. Together they have also been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Qutab Minar is some 73 meters high and a symbol of the Delhi Sultanate period. Other famous monuments in the Qutab Minar complex include the Iron Pillar of Delhi, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Alai Darwaza, the Tomb of Iltutmish, Alai Minar, and Ala-ud-din’s Madarsaand tomb.
Afterwards, go and visit India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives during First World War and Third Anglo-Afghan War. Take a visit to Rajghat, a memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Afterwards, visit Jama Masjid, a mosque built by Shah Jahan in the mid 17th century. Take a paddle rickshaw ride in the old city. See the narrow lanes where business is still carried out in big volumes. Get a fair idea of how things were during the Mughal and later during British period. Explore Sikh temples and Jainese temples as well in Old city.
Go for a sightseeing of Red Fort after a delicious lunch at one of the restaurants in Old City. Red Fort was the place from where Shah Jahan ruled. This was the place where Nadir Shah invaded and killed so many people. Have a look at the different monuments within the Fort. Towards the evening, enjoy the light and sound show. Return to the hotel, have dinner. Overnight in New Delhi.
Taj Mahal – a modern world wonder
Day 2: New Delhi – Agra:Check out after breakfast and drive to Agra, a drive of around three hours. Check into hotel on arrival in Agra, a city which once served as the capital for the Mughals.
Immediately afterward go and visit the new world wonder – Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Made in white marble, it is an amazing experience to take a tour of Taj Mahal. Look at the beautiful work of stones and carvings in this beautiful monument.
Have lunch after exhaustive tour of Taj Mahal. Later, go and visit Red Fort, a fort initially built by Akbar, but where subsequent additions were made by other Mughal rulers. You can very much understand how Mughal administration was run within and from the Fort. Look at the additions made by Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. You can see the place where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb.
After a tour to these monuments go and visit a marble workshop in the city. The city does not have marble mines but it does have skilled craftsmen who are experts in working on marble. Have dinner at one of the restaurants. Overnight in Agra.
Birds at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Day 3: Agra – Bharatpur:Get up leisurely and after a sumptuous breakfast check out from the hotel in Agra. Drive to Bharatpur, a drive of a little more than one hour. Check into a hotel on arrival in Bharatpur, a small town in Rajathan, close to the borders of Uttar Pradesh.
After settling into hotel, go on to explore Keoladeo National Park, listed among UNESCO World Heritage sites. This is popular as a bird sanctuary. A large variety, more than 350, of birds flock in the Park, particularly after monsoon, that is, during the winters. You can go on a cycle rickshaw through the Park or can also hire a bicycle. Just near the entrance is Dr. Salim Ali Center. Visit this to get some insight into different bird varieties from across the world.
Return to the hotel and have lunch. Post lunch, go and visit Deeg Fort which served as the capital of the Jats in the 18th Century. The Fort is mostly in ruins now, but a part of it is intact. A sightseeing of this gives a better insight into how the Jat rulers lived their lives and what sort of construction they did. Late in the afternoon you can visit 1845 built Ganga Temple, a temple situated right in the middle of the city, within Lohagarh Fort complex. Close by is Lakshman Temple.
Have a nice dinner. Overnight in Bharatpur.
Day 4: Bharatpur – Ranthambore:Check out from the hotel after breakfast. Drive to Ranthambore national Park, situated in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. Check into a resort, after a nearly six hour drive, on reaching Ranthambore.
Spread over more than 325 square kilometer, Ranthambore National Park is a great place to see tigers and other animals.
In the afternoon, go and visit Ranthambore Fort and Ganesh Temple inside the Fort. The Fort is quite old; is said to have been built in 944 AD. Learn how the Fort was attacked and how Rajput women committed mass suicide here to save themselves from going into the hands of enemy forces.
Carry a binocular with you. There are chances you can actually see a tiger in the forest from the top of the Fort. Ganesh Temple is also very old.
Return to the resort. Have a nice dinner and drinks. Overnight in Ranthambore.
Day 5: Ranthambore National Park: Start very early in the morning for the safari. Safari usually is from 6.30am (during summers) or 7am (during winters). Go and enjoy the morning safari. Look for the tigers. But you can come across deer varieties, leopards, sloth bear, wild boars and different bird varieties.
Return to the resort after the safari. Get fresh and take some rest. Go for an afternoon safari (from 2pm -3.30pm depending on the climatic conditions – whether summer or winter).

Return to the resort. Have a nice and pleasant evening, chatting and relishing the time spent whole day. Enjoy your drinks and dinner. Overnight in Ranthambore National Park.
Day 6: Ranthambore National Park – Jaipur:Check out after a nice breakfast and drive for around four hours to reach the state capital Jaipur. Check into a hotel in Jaipur on arrival. Take some rest. Afterwards, set out to explore Jaipur. Begin the city tour with a lunch at one of the restaurants. After a delicious lunch, visit City Palace, which has served as the royal residence and capital from 1727 onwards. Descendants of Royal family still lives here. There is a big museum which is open for public viewing. After a visit to City Palace move to Jantar Mantar, a collection of 19 architectural astronomical instruments, built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh in 1734.
Go for a walk along the markets in Jaipur – Chhoti Chaupar and Badi Chaupar. Feel free to do shopping in these markets. Return to the hotel and have dinner. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 7: Jaipur: After breakfast at the hotel embark on a full day city tour. Start the day with a tour to Amber Fort, the earlier capital of Jaipur Royal Family. Take an elephant ride to reach the top of the hillock where Amber Fort is located. Take a full tour of the Fort, which is made in red sandstone. Take a look at Diwan-i-Am Hall, Sheesh Mahal, Jas Mahal, the Queen’s chambers, King’s place, courtyard, and the hidden passage.
After completing the tour you should go to Jaigarh Fort, which is often referred as one complex with Amber Fort. The hidden passage or subterranean passage connects the two. This is located on a hillock, referred to as Cheel ka Teela, and overlooks Amber Fort and Maota Lake. After a visit of Jaigarh Fort go on to visit Nahargarh Fort. This fort was built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734.
Go on to have a look at the Jal Mahal, located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. Go for lunch at one of the restaurants afterwards. After lunch, go for a tour of Albert Museum, which functions as the state museum. The Museum, which was opened to the public in 1887, is named after King Edward VII. It has a huge collection of coins, paintings, arts and crafts, international art works and many more. Later, towards the evening go on to explore Hawa Mahal, the Palace of the Winds. This was built specifically for women from royal family. They could see the activities in the market and on the road.
You are free to explore the markets again in Jaipur. You can also go back to Amber Fort to enjoy light and sound there. Have a nice dinner. Overnight in Jaipur.
Sariska National Park – nearest national park from New Delhi
Day 8: Jaipur – Sariska: Check out from Jaipur after a sumptuous breakfast. Drive straight to Sariska National Park – a drive of around 2.5hours. Check into a resort on arrival in Sariska.
Go for an afternoon safari (starts from 2pm or 2.30pm, depending on whether it is winter or summer). Look out for different wildlife species found in the national park. Apart from tigers, leopard, sambhar, chital, nilgai, four-horned antelope, wild boar, rhesus macaque, langur, hyena and jungle cats are found in the park. India’s largest population of peafowl resides here in this Park. Other bird varieties are also found.
Return to the resort after the safari. Have a pleasant and relaxed evening. Enjoy a delicious dinner. Overnight in Sariska.
Day 9: Sariska – New Delhi – Onward destination:Get up pretty early in the morning and go for a morning safari (starts from 6.30am or 7am, depending on if it is summer or winter). Return after a lovely safari. Get refreshed, and take some rest. Have a nice lunch and check out from the resort. Drive to the New Delhi International Airport (a drive of around three hours) directly from there and catch your flight to your destination.

Day 1: Delhi – Mussoorie: Arrive in Delhi and straight away head off to Mussoorie, a drive of around 300km. This takes more than seven hours. On the way pass through Dehradun, capital of Uttarakhand. Check into hotel on arrival in Mussoorie. Have dinner and enjoy a relaxed walk on the Mall. Overnight in Mussoorie.
Day 2: Mussoorie: After breakfast embark on a sightseeing trip of Mussoorie. Visit Kempty Falls and look for yourself the gushing waters from a height. You can have a cable car ride here as well. Some souvenir shops are also there. Later, move to Company Gardens and enjoy the different varieties of flowers. Visit Lal Tibba, the highest place of the area where first snowfall of Mussoorie region takes place during winter. Take a cable car and reach Gun Hill, the second highest peak of Mussoorie from where one can see Doon Valley clearly. Many Himalayan ranges like Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri are visible from the top of Gun Hill.

Day 3: Mussoorie – Rishikesh: Take your breakfast and check out from the hotel in Mussoorie. Head to Rishikesh, a drive of over 2.5 hours which passes through forests of Rajaji National Park. Check into a hotel on arrival in Rishikesh. After relaxing a bit go on to explore Rishikesh. Main attractions are Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula. Check out the different temples and explore the local markets. Enjoy evening Ganga Aarti at Swarg Ashram. Have dinner at one of the restaurants. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 4: Rishikesh: After breakfast go to enjoy white rafting, something tourists should surely enjoy when they come to Rishikesh. Later, drive to visit Nilkanth Mahadev temple, one of the most famous temples of this area. Enjoy leisurely walks in Rshikesh. Enjoy the beauty of Ganges. Enjoy the evening aarti at Swarg Ashram. Have dinner at one of the restaurants. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 5: Rishikesh – Nainital: Today is the time to make a move to Kumaon Hills. Check out after breakfast at the hotel in Rishikesh and head off to Nainital. This is a long drive of over eight hours. Check into a hotel on arrival in Nainital. After relaxing for some time go for a walk around Naini Lake. Have dinner at one of the restaurants. Overnight in Nainital.

Day 6: Nainital: After breakfast embark on a tour of Nainital and areas around it. Start the day with a visit to Naini Lake. Go for boating in the Naini Lake, scene of many Hindi films in the past. It is believed Lord Shiva performed his tandava. Close to Naini Lake is the temple of Naina Devi, supposed to be one of the shaktipithas. Go on to visit Nanital Zoo which is home to rare species like snow leopard, steppe eagle and Himalayan Black bear. Eco cave garden has, of late, become quite popular among children. Once can also opt to visit Governor’s House, which is open to public viewing.
Those interested in birds and nature can head off to Pangot and Kilbury Bird Sanctuary. Return, have dinner and retire to your room. Overnight in Nainital.
Day 7: Nainital – Almora – Kausani: After breakfast at the hotel in Nainital check out and start for Kaushani via Almora. Enjoy the scenic drive. Check into a hotel in Kaushani on arrival. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Kausani: After breakfast start full day excursion of Kaushani. You should first visit Anashakti Ashram, a quiet and revered place where Mahatma Gandhi spent a few days and also compiled his commentary on Anashkti Yog. Next you should visit Pant Museum, the birth place of the noted Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant.

After lunch you should start with a visit to the tea garden. This tea garden is hardly 5km on the Bageshwar Road. A visit to Bageshwar and looking at the marvelous Baijnath group of temples is also a good option. There are some good trekking opportunities in Almora.
Have dinner and retire to your room. Overnight in Kaushani.
Day 9: Kausani – Corbett: After breakfast check out from the hotel, and embark on a drive to Corbett. Reach late in the afternoon. Check into a resort. Rest of the day at leisure. Know more about the Corbett National Park and different fauna species you can get on a drive to the forest. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Corbett: Get up pretty early in the morning and drive to the forest for a morning safari. If lucky you can see a wide variety of animals, including tigers, elephants and leopards. There are some good bird varieties as well. Return and have breakfast. Relax and enjoy swimming. You can visit nearby villages for a walk and interact with the locals. Return, have lunch and rest for some time. Set out for an afternoon safari afterwards.
Enjoy a relaxed in evening. Overnight in Corbett.
Day 11: Corbett – Delhi: If you wish you can go for an early morning safari to the forest. Have breakfast and check out from the resort. Drive to Delhi which is some seven hours journey. Check into a hotel in Delhi on arrival. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Delhi. Day 12: Delhi – Onward destination: Have breakfast and check out from the hotel in Delhi. Head to the airport and catch flight to your own desired destination.
