In the midst of the art trading I had going on with BladeGunSniper, she was thoughtful enough to request a piece featuring an original character belonging to @ladypepperofdavenshire (who was cool enough to draw me gift art before, so I was thrilled to take up the offer). Merry Christmas, Pepper! I had a fabulous time tackling your Mandalorian OC, Heln Kadrin. I'm smitten by any >8( face he makes, so I continued the trend. 👌 Tremendous battle damage was on the horizon for Kadrin's armor, but upon vaguely remembering that Mando armor is the Adamantium of the Star Wars universe, I saved it at the last second and restrained the wear and tear to the paint. It's very possible that the beskad sword is made out of the same material, yet I went ahead and chipped it anyway. Might also be too short as well... I invite any and all shaming for my rusty SW knowledge. This is admittedly an experimental piece (hey look - black-spotting). I don't tend to do that for gifts, but I hope it's an interesting outcome.

Arcadia won the poll for the DTIYS on Instagram, and I had a lot of fun getting to draw her up in a suitably cyberpunk picture! SSV again! What made you choose the eras for your various story projects? what about the fashions appeal to you?

Hey!  Ummm, good question! lol  I think mainly I like dabbling in the 1900s-1920s because how classy and elegant the styles of those decades looked.  This is going to be a very picture-intensive response since I’d like to include some examples of why I like said eras!

I love the 1900s for the flowing gowns and somewhat Victorian aspect that still carried over for the women, and the cut of the men’s suits since they still had double-breasted suit jackets and vests that were reminiscent of the late 1800s.

The 1910s was probably the first decade of historical fashion that really intrigued me since the dresses really stuck out to me and how they had a sort of Regency aspect to them with the Empire waistline, and the evening gowns are just GORGEOUS *__* 

The women’s fashion of this era also changed drastically from the early 1910s to the late 1910s as the skirts got shorter in preparation for the 1920s, so it’s fun to track how the silhouette went from more Empire to more A-line after WWI when crinolines were back in fashion

I also like how a little more “relaxed” the men’s fashion looked in comparison to the previous decade, if that makes sense?

Aaand for the 1920s, I love old silent movies and how the clothing of that decade seemed less restrictive and more playful.  I also like the variety of styles there were within this decade–they weren’t all that super short, smutty Halloween dress that people think of!

The men’s styles in the 1920s were also pretty varied and spiffy!

I also really like these decades since they got me more interested in history around that time, so it’s interesting to see how things changed within just thirty years, like how cars were seen as a novelty in the 1900s, but they were hugely popular and used by most people by the 1920s.  I hope this all made some kind of sense! :’D

Hello!  This blog is perfectly fine for asks, no worries! :D

Hmmm, my favorite stories I’m working on right now are my webcomic, Maelstrom, my very WIP cyberpunk webnovel, Genesis Dissentire, and my fantasy/romance webnovel, Haddock & Isolde (that I should finish soon lol)!

So as of late, I’ve been getting inspiration from shows like Clone Wars, MASH, and Tron: Uprising AND comics–mainly the Geoff Johns Justice Society of America run since I feel like the plotlines are very well constructed and each character gets their own time to shine throughout the different arcs (I also recently read the Batman: White Knight graphic novel and that’s still been rattling around in my head–GOOD STUFF) ;D  Also I’ve been reading A LOT of Star Wars Expanded Universe books, so those have inspired my art (mainly by me making even more Star Wars OCs LOL)

I’ve mostly been listening to soundtracks lately!  The top three that I keep playing on repeat are Interstellar, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Inception
