ngl i feel like people get too cutesy about laios sometimes. at the start of the series sure he has maricelle and chilchuk but maricelle is mostly there for his sister and chilchuk is on his payroll. which doesnt discount that they definitely have a bond but its a bond that likely would not have been forged if both of them hadnt been attenuated to laios over time working with him. the only people who like laios for laios with no “in spite of”s, no need for him to overcome that impression of incompetence, are his sister and senshi, and he only met senshi when he stopped masking his special interest AFTER BEING DISCOURAGED TO by maricelle and chilchuk. he outsmarts the giant evil demon and people still think it mustve been a bumbling accident. kabru resents his abilities and fucks him over for the crime of forgetting his name. (SO REAL) living life as an autistic and being constantly misunderstood or underestimated even by your friends and knowing youre labelled as the weird struggle friend isnt a tee hee cute experience really.
