lana del rey is insufferably annoying in a lot of respects but i cannot comprehend why her “stans” are body-shaming her just as bad as her haters and critics do. the woman has made a dozen tracks about how hard she’s working to not follow in the steps of musicians such as Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston. the song she’s got going viral right now is one in which she admits to having been raped and never going public about this in fear of nobody believing her. her struggle with self-hatred and self-destruction is the literal content of her career and somehow her own fans will sing along to tracks like “young and beautiful” and then proceed to tear her to pieces anyway.
