In the world of Fly Fishing, remote destinations, exotic species, and expensive gear is often the focus of a majority of the content you see. However, I think there is something to be said for the simplicity and the all around fun you can have catching Bass on the fly in your own backyard. Largemouth are one of the most accessible game fish on the planet and it doesn’t take any fancy gear to have a blast catching them. That’s why Fly Fishing for Bass is one of my all-time favorite pastimes and a huge part of the reason I got into photography and videography to begin with. 3 WT 🐟 F UN • • • Although I’m not new to light line adventures, I’m fairly new to the experience of fishing glass fly rods. Last fall, I picked up a new @galvanflyreels brookie 3/4 and an @echoflyfishing 3wt River Glass for my local creek pursuits. I had no idea how much fun this little rod would be on panfish and...bass. This photo is an example of how a slow parabolic bend can actually help land fish that are way above the pay grade of a normal graphite rod. 3 W T C H A L L E N G E • • • This morning @silvascalesntales and I returned to Barrett Lake for another day of epic bass fishing on the fly. After releasing at least a dozen bass by 8:30 am, I thought it would be fun to break out the 3 wt glass combo again. One cast, 2 strips and this one rose to the challenge.
