Prev anon here, I personally count the time we heard the gong/bell/E.G.O manifestation sound before the arrival of the Indigo Elder as Dante nearly manifesting E.G.O, especially now that Vergie has shown the sound rings out upon any activation and not just the first. Forgive me for any confusion caused

OOOH I see, don't worry! I actually went to see the scene myself and taking in count Carmen doesn't appear I don't think it's really quite Distortion or EGO, I actually suspect the gong might be for the Indigo Elder since he has the same rings of light in his harpoon before he takes the hood off as Vergillius does when he uses his EGO (and so do Wolf, Panther and Lion in the prologue, curiously). We don't know a whole lot about Indigo Elder but taking in count his resolute, "enlightened" almost personality I wouldn't be surprised if he also had EGO, specially since EGO can be more subtle like for example Distortion Detective-turned LCD leader Moses' pipe, as well as the strange blue light from his cigarrette (tho W Corp Ryoshu also has a blue light so it might be unrelated)

Really interesting how Vergilius says "There are Five Calamities... well, Four now I suppose." and when asked what he means he says "You'll find out soon enough..."

I don't think this just means seeing the effects of the Pallidification.

I believe he knew The Indigo Elder was on the prowl.
