there actually is no #420 - numbers 416, 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425, 452, 457, 458 and 459 do not have pets assigned to them !! at least not from what i can tell ... there are not in the database. goat #LE4 is the pet people seem to most associate with the number 420, i wonder why?

a very long update as i'm halfway thru le4!!!:

it's insane to imagine that i'm only 30% of the way to my goal for CI, not even mentioning my reading goals. INSANE.

like, farther along in comprehension than i would expect at right around a third of the way thru, but also lower in comprehension than i want to be after a year.

comprehension varies significantly, & sometimes i feel like i zone out too much, or am too comfortable with ambiguity. from testimonials, i'm fine it's fine.

specifically: i understand some news, some interview podcast, some vlogs. can get short stretches of native-level content word for word. understand all ~advanced~ videos on DS @ gist to comfortable level.

did some looking around and im probably gonna start on lingq for reading, and follow with synced audiobooks&ebooks or podcasts&transcripts for a while! plus subtitles but native tv is too difficult, and i want to keep the audiovisual to higher ease than reading for a while still.

i say this every time but higher motivation than ever!!!! it really is too easy to chose watching DS videos, or listening to podcasts, over other things i want to do (reading, writing, cello). prioritization sucks i only want infinite time for my hobbies, forever.

that iconic width control in the center immediately jogged my memory... god I remember messing with this synth well over a decade and a half ago. looks like it was first introduced in SX3, but i didn't encounter it myself until either my own first version, LE4, or more likely given it's expanded feature set, cubase 5. and my ass didn't even NOTICE it disappeared in the time between now and then. like i'm on version 11 rn and god, dropping support for 32-bit VSTs was such a fucking mistake. remember what they took from us because i sure as hell am going to forget
