Leorio cocks an eyebrow, his jaw slack. “And? What about it?”

He’s never been considered particularly level-headed or rational, and in most cases, others count on Leorio’s outbursts even when faced with minor obstacles or challenges. But then, Leorio doesn’t hold many people with such a cold and furious regard in his heart. It is wise, he knows, to swallow his pride and bite through his words against such individuals, rather than simply allow his anger, boiling in his veins, to speak through him.

Still, Leorio acknowledges the truth of Illumi’s statement. Death is an inevitable truth. Goodbyes are unavoidable. All relationships will, sooner or later, one way or another, come to an end.

That doesn’t make Illumi’s comment any less irritating, though.

“You threatening me?” Leorio quips, speaking through a sneer. “You’ll have to try a little harder if you want me scared.”
