Claude’s view on women
Are there any meta’s written on Claude’s view of women? Besides his apparent mommy issues, I feel like he has a whole virgin-whore-dichotomy/ Madonna-whore-complex going on. It’s apparent in how he puts Diana and Penelope in those boxes.  Diana is a literal godess. She is pure and kind, someone who has never done anything wrong in her life and is drawn almost holily in his dreams, meanwhile Penelope is the cheating powerhungry  slut who has no ounze of humanity in her and only chases after her own pleasure.
It becomes more clearly when you compare Ana’s memories of Penelope with his brothers. In Anastacius memories she has the “cute” style. She wears light colors and has a dress neatly buttoned up. She flirts innocently with Claude (she kisses his finger and presses it to his mouth). Meanwhile in Claude’s memories she dresses in shrill colors and wears rather revealing dresses (or nothing). She’s always in company of men and smirking like she is mocking him. I’m not denying she didn’t cheat on him but I think Claude’s perception of her is really warped. He seems to villainize her alot in his memories. When comparing Anastacius and Claude’s memories she seems almost like an entirely different person.
