the worst version of himself. if marcus grows up with no family, left to fend for himself against a cruel world, there is nothing that keeps him anchored to the line between good and evil. with family, where there's someone to look up to and people to protect, he strives to do good by them. but without, there's no motivation to give anything back to a world that's given him nothing. when he doesn't make any real bonds as a child, marcus sees other people as tools and nothing else. things to be used, and when they break, discarded. in this timeline, he would go willingly into uriel's embrace. not for justice, but the thrill of taking down such big players as the other horsemen. his only motivation is power, and he'd cut off his own horseman's head to get it.
