Autoritratti dei pittori siciliani Daniele Schmidt, Pippo Rizzo, Gagliardo, Alfonso Amorelli, Bruno Caruso, Giuseppe Migneco, Lia Pasqualino Noto, Martinelli, Saro Mirabella, Ugo Attardi Verso l’inizio degli anni ’50, Salvatore Salvia De Stefano ebbe l’idea di collezionare gli autoritratti degli allora pittori viventi. Chiese aiuto ad amici galleristi e pittori per poter convincere i pittori che non conosceva a dipingere un loro autoritratto secondo il loro stile e la loro poetica. Il problema era che Salvia chiedeva questo autoritratto in un cartoncino di 15 per 18 centimetri di lato, quindi minuscolo e, per chi era abituato a grandi tele e opere ad ampio respiro, quasi limitativo. Non di meno, essendo un’opera minimale, la realizzazione degli autoritratti era sempre rimandata. Alla fine comunque Salvatore Salvia riuscì a raccogliere un buon numero di dipinti, ognuno ritratto umano ed artistico dell’autore. Una raccolta che passava da grandi pittori come Guttuso o Alliata a pittori minori ma pur sempre isolani nel tratto e nelle sembianze. Dove sia questa raccolta, non ve lo dire. Non appare in nessun museo o raccolta d’arte. C’è solo un piccolo libro che ne parla. Anche Salvatore Salvia è scomparso nel nulla tanto che neanche Wikipedia lo cita e di tutta la sua raccolta di “cose siciliane” non si sa più nulla. Alle volte l’amore non sopravvive a chi ama, anche se il soggetto di quest’amore immenso e totale, la Sicilia, resta è ancora madre di artisti e di grandi, sconosciuti, amanti dell’arte.

Self-portraits of the Sicilian painters Daniele Schmidt, Pippo Rizzo, Gagliardo, Alfonso Amorelli, Bruno Caruso, Giuseppe Migneco, Lia Pasqualino Noto, Martinelli, Saro Mirabella, Ugo Attardi Towards the beginning of the 1950s, Salvatore Salvia De Stefano had the idea of collecting the self-portraits of the then living Sicilian painters. He asked for help from gallery owner and painter friends to be able to convince painters he didn't know to paint a self-portrait of them according to their style and poetics. The problem was that Salvia asked for this self-portrait in a cardboard measuring 15 by 18 centimeters on each side, therefore tiny and, for those used to large canvases and wide-ranging works, almost restrictive. Nonetheless, being a minimal work, the creation of the self-portraits was always postponed. In the end, however, Salvatore Salvia managed to collect a good number of paintings, each a human and artistic portrait of the author. A collection that ranged from great painters such as Guttuso or Alliata to minor but still Sicilian painters in terms of style and appearance. Where this collection is, I won't tell you. It does not appear in any museum or art collection. There is only one small book that talks about it. Salvatore Salvia also disappeared into thin air, so much so that not even Wikipedia mentions him and nothing is known about his entire collection of "Sicilian things". Sometimes love does not survive those who love, even if the subject of this immense and total love, Sicily, still remains and is the mother of artists and great, unknown, art lovers.

Mary Anning:  For the Love of the Blue Lias

Two hundred million years before the birth of Mary Anning, a village in southeast England known as Lyme Regis, (Figure 1) was a shallow, watery world filled with pointy toothed reptiles, fish, and an abundance of ammonites.   By 1799, the year of Mary’s birth, these ancient seas that deposited lime, silt and mud, had long receded, but evidence of the watery past remained in the Lyme Regis limestone and mudstone cliffs.  Today, this region is part of a geologic formation of early Jurassic age known as the Blue Lias.

Mary’s father, Richard Anning, hunted fossils along the Lyme Regis coast to supplement his meager carpentry income.   Mary and her brother, Joseph, accompanied their father along the landslide prone cliff in search of fossils to collect and sell to wealthy patrons and the scientific community.  When she was 11, Mary’s father died of tuberculosis. His death left Mary, her mother and brother destitute.  Despite the loss, they continued the family fossil business.  At the age of 12, just one year after her father’s death, Mary excavated and identified the first ichthyosaur.   Although Mary had no formal education and received no formal recognition for her monumental find, word of her abilities spread in the male dominated paleontological community.  By the 1820’s, she managed the family fossil shop (Figure 2), a business where survival depended on finding major new specimens.   At the age of 24, Mary uncovered the first plesiosaur skeleton and just five years later, the first pterosaur discovered in England.

Dinosaurs in Their Time

Visitors to Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Dinosaurs in Their Time exhibition can scrutinize fish scale sized details in fossils from the Lyme Regis cliffs, an extraordinary level of preservation that Albert Kollar witnessed in the field when he collected fossils from the locality in 1999. (Figure 3).    

A new movie, titled “Ammonite,” staring Kate Winslet as Mary Anning, promises to captivate a new generation with this often-overlooked chapter in the history of paleontology.

Despite hardship, lack of recognition, and danger, Mary continued working until her death from breast cancer in 1847. Her contributions to science were not formally recognized for over a century. In 2010, the Royal Society of London named her “one of the ten most influential women scientists in British History”

In a recent CMNH blog post, William Vincett, University of Delaware graduate student and Collecting Assistant for the Section of Invertebrate Paleontology, wrote, “It’s easy to see how she developed a love of fossils after discovering such a magnificent creature as a child.”   Yes.  Mary wondered, suffered, and persevered for the love of the Blue Lias.

Capítulo: Cap 019 - Novo integrante para família

Alfonso: Edward está próximo demais da Anahí. - Disse olhando pela janela do segundo andar, vendo Edward e Anahí se aproximarem, galopando no cavalo Christopher: Eles são só amigos, é impressão sua. - Disse, destraido com os papéis. Alfonso: Eu não costumo me enganar. - Disse com a expressão dura, quando Anahí gargalhou enquanto Edward parava o cavalo na frente da mansão - Mas dessa vez, pela integridade dessa familia, é bom que eu esteja. - Ele virou o rosto com desgosto e saiu da janela.

O jantar daquele dia foi como todos os outros. Anahí estava mais alegre, mas Dulce parecia ansiosa. Assim que todos seguiram pros seus quartos, Dulce chamou Christopher.

Dulce: Chris. - Christopher olhou pra ela, terminando de desabotoar o colete - Vem aqui comigo. - Ela bateu na cama do lado dela. Christopher sorriu e foi. Christopher: O que você tem? - Ele perguntou, antes de beijar a mão dela - Passou o dia todo nervosa, alerta. Aconteceu alguma coisa? Dulce: Ah, eu estou nervosa sim. - Ela se balançou na cama, Christopher riu - Não ri, Chris. - Fez bico. Christopher: Tudo bem, não rio. - Ele selou os lábios com os dela, desfazendo o bico - Diga-me, quem mexeu contigo? - Ele alisou a mão dela, enlaçando os dedos. Dulce: Eu não sei como falar. - Ela estava atônita quando trouxe a mão dele, colocando-a em cima do ventre - Chris, tem alguém aqui. - Ela apertou a mão dele em cima da barriga Christopher: Não tô entendendo, Dul. - Ele alisou a barriga dela Dulce: Um bebê, Chris. Aqui dentro. - Ela sentiu Christopher empedrar, encarando-a. - Chris? - Ele não se mexeu - Deus do céu, Christopher, fala alguma coisa! - Ela alisou o rosto dele.

Naquela noite, metade de Seattle jurava ter ouvido o grito de Christopher (VOCÊ TÁ GRÁVIDA?). Suri, já adormecida, despertou. Edward, que lia em seu quarto, ergueu o rosto olhando pra porta. Alfonso e Anahí, que estavam prestes a começar outra briga, pararam.

Dulce: É, eu tô. - Ela estava pálida feito papel - Chris, eu juro que não foi de propósito, mas eu... - Não terminou. Christopher beijou ela com desespero, e ela tombou na cama. - Você gostou? - Ela sorriu, sentindo o alivio lhe invadir Christopher: Eu te amo. - Os olhos dele estavam cheios de agua - Ninguém no mundo amou alguém tanto quanto eu amo você. - Dulce sorriu, o alivio e a felicidade lhe sufocando, e sentiu ele lhe carregando. Dulce: Espera, Chris  - Mas ele já tinha carregado ela - Chris, o que você...

Christopher: ACOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORDA TODO MUNDO! - Gritou passando pelo corredor, com Dulce jogada nos ombros. Ela ria e batia nas costas dele Anahí: Dulce? Edward: Christopher, o que houve?  - Perguntou aparecendo na porta de seu quarto Christopher: EU VOU SER PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAI! - Ele se jogou abraçando Alfonso, que cambaleou pra trás. Anahí riu. Suri: O que eu perdi? - Perguntou, sonolenta. Edward riu e carregou ela Alfonso: Christopher, se controle. - Ele tentou se soltar do irmão. Dulce se segurava, quase caindo. Anahí tinha certeza de que Alfonso estava prendendo o riso. Christopher: Nós vamos sair pra comemorar! - Christopher tinha um sorriso enorme no rosto, os olhos cheios d`agua, a testa soada. Ele jogou Dulce pra cima, colocando-a no lugar. Dulce gritou. Dulce: Christopher, pare com isso! - Ela bateu nas costas dele, mas ele virou o rosto e mordeu a coxa dela de leve, por cima do vestido, rindo - Não podemos sair, é muito tarde. - Ela disse, de cabeça pra baixo, se apoiando nas costas dele.

Christopher: Pro diabo com o horário. - Disse rindo, saindo com ela no corredor. Todo mundo foi atrás Alfonso: Não tem mais lugar nenhum aberto. - Avisou, ainda com a expressão de quem queria rir. Christopher: Pois pagamos pra que abra. - Ele virou pra olhar Alfonso. O cabelo de Dulce esvoaçou no ar, ela soltou um gritinho Edward: Fazemos um brinde hoje, e amanhã comemoramos adequadamente, satisfeito? - Disse, sorrindo pela felicidade do irmão.

Christopher parecia uma criança que ganhara o brinquedo com que sonhara a vida inteira. Assentiu, feliz, e girou de novo. O cabelo de Dulce esvoaçou de novo, e ela bateu nele. Dessa vez nem Alfonso conteve o riso. Todos desceram, e brindaram a chegada do herdeiro com vinho, Suri com suco. Anahí olhou pra Alfonso. Ele parecia alegre, mas ela sabia que se um dia ela viesse a avisar que estaria grávida, ele não ficaria alegre, nem comemoraria, como Christopher. Ela sacodiu o rosto, afastando os pensamentos, e foi pro lado de Edward, que sorriu, abraçando ela pelo ombro.

ZOOM AL AGUJERO NEGRO SEPERMASIVO DE NUESTRA GALAXIA SAGITARIO A*

Mire cómo esta secuencia de video se acerca al agujero negro (Sgr A*) en el centro de nuestra galaxia. Comenzando con una vista amplia de la Vía Láctea, nos sumergimos en las densas nubes de gas y polvo en nuestro centro galáctico. Las estrellas aquí han sido observadas con el Very Large Telescope de ESO y el Very Large Telescope Interferometer de ESO durante décadas, la inmensa atracción gravitacional del agujero negro distorsiona las órbitas de las estrellas más cercanas a él. Finalmente, llegamos a Sgr A*, cuya primera imagen ha sido capturada por la colaboración EHT. El agujero negro se muestra por una región central oscura llamada sombra, rodeada por un anillo de gas y polvo luminoso. Las diversas observaciones utilizadas aquí fueron tomadas en diferentes momentos, por diferentes equipos y con diferentes instalaciones, y se agruparon con el fin de lograr el efecto zoom. Las imágenes van desde longitudes de onda visibles al principio hasta el infrarrojo, y la imagen final se toma en longitudes de onda de radio.

Esto que ven es la primera prueba directa de la existencia de un agujero negro en el centro de nuestra galaxia, a 27 mil años luz está este monstruo.

Por primera vez, los astrónomos han conseguido fotografiar el agujero negro del centro de nuestra galaxia, la Vía Láctea. La imagen presentada este jueves (12.05.2022) muestra exactamente los alrededores del agujero negro supermasivo, ya que los propios objetos son invisibles por naturaleza.

La imagen fue posible gracias a las observaciones realizadas con el "Event Horizon Telescope" (EHT), una combinación de ocho observatorios de radio en cuatro continentes para formar una especie de supertelescopio.

La imagen del monstruo de masas en el corazón de nuestra galaxia es solo la segunda que se toma de un agujero negro.

Primera Imagen del Agujero Negro de la Vía Láctea

El día de hoy hace un par de minutos se dio a conocer la primera imagen del agujero negro supermasivo Sgr A* que se encuentra en el centro de la Vía Láctea.

En la imagen no se ve directamente el agujero negro ya que este es completamente obscuro, pero si se observa lo que se conoce somo sombra rodeada de un gas muy caliente y brillante.

La imagen fue capturada mediate el Telescopio Horizonte de Sucesos (EHT) que es un conjunto de 8 radioobservatorios que incluyen al Gran Telescopio Milimétrico "Alfonso Serrano" ubicado en la Sierra Negra de Puebla, México.

El EHT observo el centro de la Galaxia en 2017 y desde ese entonces se han estado procesando los datos obtenidos mediante algoritmos muy complejos.

2021 Blue Ink Playwriting Award Winner Announced

Congratulations to Yussef EI Guindi the winner of the 2021 Blue Ink Playwriting Award. El Guindi’s play, Refugee Rhapsody, was selected from a pool 820 submissions. As part of the award, El Guindi receives a $2,000 cash prize and virtual reading with American Blues Theater.

“I’m thrilled to have won this award,” said El Guindi. “I’m grateful for the support of American Blues Theater and look forward to working with them on the upcoming reading.”

“We’re so excited to announce Yussef El Guindi’s script Refugee Rhapsody as the 2021 winner,” notes Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside. “Yussef is an important voice in theater. We are honored to share this powerful and unforgettable story.”

About REFUGEE RHAPSODY

Sakinah, an Arab American woman, undergoes a mental health evaluation to determine what led to the violent crime she committed against Emily, a rich heiress. The play explores race, class, privilege, and how those factors collide and play out in today’s culture.

About Yussef El Guindi

Born in Egypt, raised in London and now based in Seattle, Yussef El Guindi’s work frequently examines the collision of ethnicities, cultures, and politics that face Arab-Americans and Muslim Americans. El Guindi holds an MFA in playwriting from Carnegie-Mellon University, and has worked as a playwright at Silk Road Rising; literary manager for Golden Thread Productions; and playwright-in-residence at Duke University.

He is the recipient of many honors, including the Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award and the 2010 Middle East America Distinguished Playwright Award. El Guindi’s most recent productions include “People of the Book” at ACT in Seattle; “Language Rooms” (Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award) at Pony World Theatre in Seattle, and Broken Nose Theatre in Chicago; “Hostages” at Radial Theater Project in Seattle; “The Talented Ones” at Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland ( Santa Barbara Independent Indy Awards); “Threesome” at Portland Center Stage, ACT, and at 59E59 (winner of a Portland Drammy for Best Original Script); “Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World” (winner of the Steinberg/ American Theater Critics Association’s New Play Award in 2012; and the 2011 Gregory Award) also at ACT, Center Repertory Company (Walnut Creek, CA), and at Mosaic Theater Company (DC). Other productions: “Our Enemies: Lively Scenes of Love and Combat” was produced by Silk Road Rising and won the M. Elizabeth Osborn award. His play “Back of the Throat” (winner of L.A. Weekly’s Excellence in Playwriting Award for 2006), “Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World”, “Jihad Jones and the Kalashnikov Babes”, “Such a Beautiful Voice is Sayeda and Karima’s City” have been published by Dramatists Play Service. “Ten Acrobats in an Amazing Leap of Faith”, “Collaborator”, “Threesome”, “The Talented Ones” and “Hostages” have been published by Broadway Play Publishing Inc. In January, 2019, Bloomsbury/ Methuen Drama published “Selected Works by Yussef El Guindi”. Currently a Core Company playwright member at ACT in Seattle, and a Resident Artist at Golden Thread Production.

About the Blue Ink Playwriting Award

The annual Blue Ink Playwriting Award was created in 2010 to support new work. Since inception, American Blues Theater has named 11 Award winners, 95 finalists, and 139 semi-finalists. American Blues will award more than $9,000 in cash and prizes in 2021.

Each year American Blues Theater accepts worldwide submissions of original, unpublished full-length plays. The winning play is selected by Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and the theater’s Ensemble. The playwright receives a monetary prize and reading at American Blues Theater in Chicago.  Finalists and semi-finalists are also awarded a cash prize.

Submissions for the 2022 Blue Ink Playwriting Award open July 1, 2021. All submissions must be received by American Blues Theater by August 31, 2021 at 11:59 PM Central. Playwrights may only submit one (1) manuscript each year for consideration.

 S’inaugura sabato 29 agosto 2020, alle ore 18.00, la mostra  collettiva internazionale a cura di Sandro  Bongiani dal titolo: “Fragilità e Distacco / 70 Years Ruggero Maggi” che lo Spazio  Ophen Virtual Art Gallery di Salerno dedica all’artista italiano Ruggero Maggi, uno dei più interessanti artisti contemporanei nati negli anni cinquanta. Una importante mostra collettiva internazionale in concomitanza anche della speciale ricorrenza del suo settantesimo compleanno, presentando 289 opere di 295 artisti presenti su un totale corpus grafico di ben 388 opere arrivate  da ogni parte del mondo.

Ruggero Maggi inizia la sua attività di artista negli anni '70 con lavori incentrati sulla poesia visiva, sulla mail art, copy-art, laser art e olografia caratterizzati anche dall’inserimento di “estratti” di vita reale. Con il passare degli anni queste strutture “interferenti” all’interno dell’opera sono diventate sempre più evidenti, in un rapporto di intensa “osmosi”, in cui a partire dal 1989 gli arcaici elementi naturali convivono con componenti tecnologici, fino alle opere recenti dove il concetto “Artificiale /Naturale” tra ”sincronismo concettuale e emozionale” assume un ruolo predominante consegnandoci una realtà in cui l’azione umana coincide con quella morale, in un complesso intrico di rimandi e di sollecitazioni. Sandro Bongiani nella presentazione a questa rassegna scrive: “un continuo interesse verso la natura e la dimensione umana in un complesso rimando di sollecitazioni e interferenze, di sottintesi e nascosti richiami in cui l'azione coincide sinteticamente con il tempo provvisorio e oscuro dell’uomo. In questa particolare condizione, la sua ricerca marginale di confine “più vera di natura” ha saputo prendere corpo e manifestarsi in una sintesi poetica accorta che condivide le urgenze estreme della vita ed i contrasti inquieti della nostra malandata  società contemporanea”.

 RUGGERO  MAGGI / Biografia

Dal 1973 si occupa di poesia visiva e libri d'artista (Archivio Non Solo Libri); dal 1975 di copy art e arte postale (Archivio Amazon); dal 1976 di laser art, dal 1979 di olografia, dal 1980 di X-ray art e dal 1985 di arte caotica sia come artista - con opere ed installazioni incentrate sullo studio del caos, dell’entropia e dei sistemi frattali - sia come curatore di eventi: “Caos italiano” 1998; “Caos – Caotica Arte Ordinata Scienza” 1999 – 2000; “Isole frattali” 2003, “CaoTiCa” 2004, “Attrazione frattale” 2006, “Caos e Complessità” 2009, “Caos, l’anima del caso” 2010, “Caotica.2014” Lodi e Jesi.

Tra le installazioni olografiche: “Una foresta di pietre” (Media Art Festival - Osnabrück 1988) e “Un semplice punto esclamativo” (Mostra internazionale d’Arte Olografica alla Rocca Paolina di Perugia – 1992); tra le installazioni di laser art: “Morte caotica” e “Una lunga linea silenziosa” (1993), “Il grande libro della vita” e “Il peccatore casuale” (1994), “La nascita delle idee” (1993) esposta nel 1995 al Museo d’Arte di San Paolo (BR).

Suoi lavori sono esposti al Museo di Storia Cinese di Pechino ed alla GAM di Gallarate. Ha inoltre partecipato alla 49./52./54. Biennale di Venezia ed alla 16. Biennale d’arte contemporanea di San Paolo nel 1980.

2006 realizza “Underwood” installazione site-specific per la Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Gallarate.

2007 presenta come curatore il progetto dedicato a Pierre Restany “Camera 312 – promemoria per Pierre” alla 52. Biennale di Venezia.

2008 presenta come curatore il progetto “Profondità 45 – Michelangelo al lavoro” sul rapporto Arte -Tecnologia. Nel 2008 a Villa Glisenti (BS) ed all’Art Centre della Silpakorn University di Bangkok, per un simposio artistico italo-thailandese dedicato alle problematiche del riscaldamento globale, realizza l’installazione “Ecce ovo”.

2009 cura l’installazione site-specific collettiva “Prima o poi ogni muro cade” all’interno di PLAZA: OLTRE IL LIMITE 1989-2009 XX Anniversario della caduta del Muro di Berlino in Galleria del Corso a Milano; evento successivamente presentato a Villa Pomini a Castellanza (VA) e Spazio Luparia a Stresa.

2010 “GenerAction – un promemoria per le generazioni” progetto di Mail Post.it Art presso la Galleria di Arti Visive dell’Università del Melo - Gallarate.

2011/2013/2015/2017 presenta a Venezia con il Patrocinio del Comune di Venezia Padiglione Tibet, progetto presentato successivamente alla Biennale di Venezia, al Museo Diotti di Casalmaggiore (CR), palazzo Ducale di Genova e presso la Biblioteca Laudense di Lodi.

2014 PadiglioneTibet partecipa alla Bienal del Fin del Mundo in Argentina.

2016 “TERRA/materiaprima” progetto di Mail Art presso la Galleria di Arti Visive dell’Università del Melo – Gallarate.

2016 presenta Padiglione Tibet al Castello Visconteo di Pavia.

2017 presenta la 1 Biennale Internazionale di Mail Art a Venezia – Palazzo Zenobio

2018 Padiglione Tibet partecipa alla Vogalonga (Venezia)

Bike Tour no centrão de SP

Bora pedalar? O Bike Tour SP propõe ao público um rolê de bicicleta pelo centrão. O mais legal é que o tour é gratuito e o empréstimo de bike também!

O roteiro ciclístico percorre 6 km pelo Centro Novo de São Paulo, com 21 paradas nas principais atrações da região todos os sábados, saindo da Biblioteca Mário de Andrade em quatro horários: 9h, 11h, 13h e 15h.

Cada passeio é formado por grupos de até 15 pessoas, acompanhados por monitores que contam a história, a cultura e as curiosidades de 25 pontos turísticos. Tudo apresentado em português e inglês para atender também o turista estrangeiro.

MBEJI, do Kimbundo, língua Banto, traz como significado Lua, ancestralidade feminina.

Pesquisa de música de origem afro brasileira e cubana, que aportam nossa reconexão com a ancestralidade através de diálogos rítmicos.

O grupo apresenta músicas de culturas tradicionais encontradas nas religiões de matriz afro-brasileiras, músicas de Magia, Feitiçaria, Encantarias e cantigas de ritos que, em sua maioria, são conduzidas por mulheres.

lia was laying on her bed, staring at the ceiling. three weeks had passed since she made the bet with ollie, and unless he had an epiphany and realized he was in love with her overnight, she had lost. 

she didn't really care about losing the dare, but she had focused so much on trying to get ollie to fall for her, that she didn't really think much about how he was the only thing on her mind.

she had given up. not that she was doing anything special, if he fell in love, he would have to fall for the real her. anyways, she was done.

three days ago, when she realized that she was, infact, in love with oliver bearman, it hit her. hard. she didn't want to keep fueling the feeling, so she started ignoring him. -as much as she could with him being absolutely everywhere she went.-  she didn't even call quits on the game, she just stopped.

lia was pulled out of her thoughts when her phone buzzed. she ignored the first one. but at the second buzz she felt obligated to check it. her heart stopped when she read ollie's name on the top. she opened it immediately.

her heart raced when she stood up from her bed. she looked in the mirror, not giving much thought into her outfit. sweatpants and a hoodie, it wasn't anything special, but she didn't really care with everything that was going on in her head.

she climbed through her window and her breath hitched when she saw he was already sitting there, his back facing her.

“my window is on the other side, dumbass” she joked, trying to calm her nerves. he turned to face her, and he looked so good under the moonlight that she wanted to scream. “hi” he smiled softly, and her desire to scream only increased. “hi” she returned the smile, and they just stared at each other for a second.

“so, what did you want to talk about?” his smile faded a little bit before speaking “uhm, i just really wanted to- i mean- you like- i don't know-” he seemed on the verge of having a mental breakdown, and she was not having it “hey, breathe, take your time” she said. 

her hand instinctively went up to caress his cheek softly. he closed his eyes, leaning into her palm and taking a breath. when he opened his eyes, the intensity of them scared her “why are you ignoring me?”

 he had sounded so hurt that she felt like dying “what?” she only muttered “you've been ignoring me for three days.” the girl was so baffled that she didn't know what to answer “no, i haven't” she realized her hand was still on his cheek and removed it as fast as possible, immediately missing the feeling of his cold skin. 

“yes you have. today, at the race. you went with arthur -who by the way, got second- instead of me, who actually won.” he sounded upset, and if she didn't know better, she would say he sounded jealous.

 “everyone went to you, ollie” she tried to come up with an excuse “but you didn't, why?” the boy’s eyes seemed to stare into her soul “can i not support my friend?” the girl was still trying to push the excuse. 

she looked down, avoiding his gaze. now she was the one on the verge of a mental breakdown. “you know that's not it, remember rule one.” rule one was complete honesty, always. she knew he wasn't going to let her go until she was honest with him. “i partially won, you know?”

now he was confused “what?” she breathed before looking back at him. she had one more week with him, and she wasn't going to ignore him anymore.

 “you didn't fall for me, but i fell for you. i didnt choose to, for fucks sake, i didnt even realize. but i fell for you, hard, and i spent the last three days trying to make it disappear but i can't. because you're in my head every second of the day, you should pay rent at this point.” she finished with a deep breath and took a second to prepare for rejection. 

there were a few seconds of silence, which she imagined were him trying to get the words to reject her. “you didn't partially win” he said “hey, i know i lost but at least give me the partial win, no?” she tried to laugh to not cry.

 “thats not what i meant, listen!” he laughed “yeah, sorry” she laughed softly “i realized a few days ago, but then you started ignoring me, so i thought you just didn't care anymore. and today, seeing you run to arthur instead of me made me so mad that i had to ask you what it was about. i had no plan on actually telling you, but then you show up wearing my hoodie and i had to tell you before its too late. you won, i'm completely and bone crushingly in love with you. like the type of in love in which i think about your stupid lips, or your long eyelashes and it makes me smile. what kinda gay shit is that? i don't even know, but the worst part is that it doesn't bother me. i like it, even.”

her heart stopped beating for a second, as she realized what he was saying. “you're in love with me?” she couldn't believe it. “yes, very much” ollie let out a small, nervous laugh that made lias heart melt. 

“well, that's unexpected” she was still processing the new information “how? you've literally spent the last month trying to make me fall in love with you?” he looked at her with furrowed eyebrows and a humoristic look in his eyes “oh shut up, i didn't know if it would actually work!” 

they were both smiling like idiots at each other. they stayed like that for a few moments, before the boy leaned in and kissed her. his hand went straight up to the side of her face, holding her more firmly as she started kissing back. they watched the sunrise that way, stealing kisses and cuddles on the rooftop.

the next morning, lia woke up on her bed. she didn’t really remember how she got there after her talk with ollie.

 ollie.  

the thought of him made her smile. she lazily stood up, brushing her teeth and going to the bathroom before going out of her room. 

funny enough, ollie came out of his room at the same time. he smiled at her, one of those smiles that made her the happiest she could be.

“woww, good afternoon, love birds. you both look like shit” jaks voice took them out of their trance. “love birds?” ollie asked, lauging faintly at his friends antics.

 “yeah. anyways, next time you guys want to have a dramatic love confession on the roof, maybe dont go directly next to my window? i was trying to sleep.” a smile formed into jaks lips when both teenagers went red as tomatoes.

Oscar 2019: confira a lista completa dos indicados

A mais importante premiação do cinema mundial, o Oscar, nem começou direito e já está dando o que falar. Muitos filmes excelentes, assim como excelentes atores e atrizes, já estão concorrendo e tirando suspiros mundo afora. A concorrência para este ano está forte e a festa promete dar o que falar! Há tempos não víamos tanta coisa boa concorrendo nas categorias.

Neste ano, o Oscar 2019 está marcado para começar às 22h do dia 24 de fevereiro, domingo. A premiação deve se estender por cerca de quatro horas, até a madrugada de segunda-feira, 25 de fevereiro. Confira abaixo a lista completa dos indicados em suas respectivas categorias.

 S’inaugura  martedi 31  luglio 2018, alle ore 18.00, la mostra  collettiva internazionale a cura di Sandro  Bongiani dal titolo: “Marginali Attivi / 70 Ryosuke Cohen” che lo Spazio  Ophen Virtual Art Gallery di Salerno dedica all’artista giapponese, uno dei più longevi e interessanti   artisti contemporanei nati negli anni quaranta.  Una interessante mostra collettiva in concomitanza anche della speciale ricorrenza del suo settantesimo compleanno, presentando 164 opere su un totale corpus grafico di  ben 281 opere arrivate  da ogni parte del mondo  da importanti artisti internazionali che periodicamente si  sono avvicendati a collaborare con impegno e assiduità con Cohen.

Ryosuke Cohen, nato nel 1948, Osaka, in Giappone,  è un Mail Artista. Il nome della famiglia è Kouen ma su consiglio di Byron Black, ha adottato  il nome inglese  'Cohen' come in ebraico. Cohen scoprì la mail art in Canadà. Ryosuke è il figlio di un noto scrittore di haiku in Giappone, Jyunichi Koen. I primi lavori di Cohen sono il risultato di un misto di tradizione e immaginario giapponese, numeri  e icone contemporanee  così com’è la sua firma, la lettera "C". L’artista giapponese per lungo tempo è stato interessato al movimento Dada e Fluxus,  in contatto con Shozo Shimamoto e i membri del gruppo Gutai condividendo in modo spontaneo e naturale un nuovo modo di fare arte contemporanea. Ryosuke non è il primo artista postale e marginale giapponese, ma sicuramente è l’autore giapponese più longevo nel network internazionale Dopo Ray Johnson e Guglielmo Achille Cavellini, anche Ryosuke Cohen  rimette ancora una volta in gioco le carte della sperimentazione in  un sistema culturale antiquato che preferisce l’opera creata appositamente per essere commercializzata. Lo fa  proponendo un particolare suo progetto “Brain Cell” (Cellula celebrale), iniziato nel giugno 1985 con  migliaia di membri  sparsi in oltre 80 paesi.  Un lavoro che raccoglie  ogni 7-10 giorni circa le immagini di tanti artisti su un'unica pagina allegando un elenco di indirizzi di collaboratori, 55 in media per opera, che lo ha visto coinvolto per oltre  30 lunghi anni,  rifiutando l’opera unica e concetti  consueti come l’originalità e quindi, preferendo maggiormente il gioco, la ricerca e la libertà concreta dell’artista volutamente collocato ai margini dell’attuale sistema culturale. Per questo modo di fare, egli è forse il più  interessante e attivo artista nella rete di chiunque altro per la capacità organizzativa del progetto e per diffusione capillare dell’arte marginale. Nell'agosto 2001 ha iniziato in Italia il progetto “Fractal Portrait”, facendo ritratti e silhouette del corpo ai suoi amici artisti in occasione dei vari Meeting   svolti in diverse parti del mondo; Stati Uniti, Canada, Inghilterra, Irlanda del Nord, Spagna, Jugoslavia, Germania, Olanda, Corea, Italia e Francia.  Cohen è l’artista contemporaneo che non rappresenta più colui che produce un’opera d’arte secondo le vecchie idee classiciste della tradizione, ma ricopre il ruolo di mediatore e di intermediario tra la realizzazione di un’idea progettuale (la sua) e coloro che partecipano al progetto. Praticamente, egli si fa promotore di un “fare” diventando regista di un intervento provvisorio,  che nasce dal contributo degli altri e  si materializza insieme  nella collaborazione collettiva in cui tutti possono partecipare ed essere positivamente e  appassionatamente coinvolti nella  creazione dell’opera. In oltre trent’anni di lavoro ha esposto con mostre e svolto performance  e incontri in diverse aree geografiche del mondo.  Attualmente vive a Ashiya-City Hyogo in Giappone.
