First ride of the season 🌿 . Turns out, after many biking attempts, I fall squarely into the “light touring” category wherein one wanders somewhat aimlessly through beauty. Pauses to consider real estate finds and waterfalls are to be expected. Snacks as needed. A few uphills and downhills for exercise and thrill. And preferably on sunny days between 45-65 degrees. Transferable to European countryside. Frugal ultralight backpacking bivvy set up - only 1600g for £125!!!

You don't need to spend a fortune to start experiencing ultralight adventures. I've complied a list of gear you can buy from Aliexpress for your first bivvy adventure...

The Aegismax nano sleeping bag is probabley the best value sleeping bag on the market. This three season bag (5°C) weighs only 480g (250g 800fp goose down), has box baffles on the top half, and packs down to an incredibly small 12cm x 20 stuff sack. Costs £56.68

The Lighttour camping mat weighs 480g, is 181cm long, a generous 61cm wide, and when inflated has 6.3cm of cushioning. It comes with a stuff sack and an inflation bag which can double as a dry bag. Costs £25.44.

The 3F UL gear tyvek bivvy bag weighs an incredible 200g, a zip to aid entry / exit and a draw cord to keep the cold air out. Costs £21.59

The Gonex 35lt backpack weighs 334g, has a roll top closure, two mesh side pockets, a padded back panel and a zip pocket. Costs £11.72
