So anyways, I had a thought
#heaven official's blessing#mu qing#to make things clear: I dont think this was the only reason he was angry#like I think theres a certain level of just “fuck this guy” over Hua Cheng being a ghost king and general menace#and just general being protetive of a homie#but i do think itd be a huge slap in the face to Mu Qing to see Xie Lian putting so much trust in this dude he barely knows#after he kicked Mu Qing to the curb over what was ultimately a misunderstanding#(idk that misunderstanding is the word I'm looking for here)#edit in case anyone else is worried about spoiling things for me: I am caught up with the books
