I guess I have to preface this by saying when I read the messages and interviews that came straight from the band about the lore I've come to a very different conclusion than what I think the most accepted version in the fandom of the lore is.

And I am not here to tell anyone how to interpret anything. That's the beauty of art is that we can all interpret it however we want. And our own experiences will cloud those interpretations.

But the car crash and miscarriage theories are so fascinating to me because I couldn't agree any less. To me when I look at the lines that are usually used to support those theories in the context of the whole verse or song I come to such different conclusions. Specifically when it comes to high water.

But I guess that's similar to how my interpretation of Atlantic is informed by my own life experiences and I have a hard time understanding how people can view it as anything else because it feels so incredibly obvious to me. But then again it's probably good for those people that it isn't obvious to them.
