which 'joy gets overwhelmed by sensory stuff the quickest? and who is more sensitive to what kind of sensory input? also, any hcs about the relationship between jet and kobra? (i mean in general, i don' t necessarily ship them)

wow okay i had a whole thing typed up and then tumblr deleted it so.

kobra gets overwhelmed the fastest! light sensitivity, bad textures, and foods all arent great for him. his pupils are like. permanently dilated so he does his best to regulate that with sunglasses and his helmet visor. touch is another one for him that can be bad at times. he really likes pressure tho so he pulls his jacket really tight around himself when hes overwhelmed and wore his binder way too long a lot

kobra pretty much has the monopoly on sensory sensitivities but the girl is sensitive to sounds and Really hates being restrained. also is really sensitive to rejection/what she interprets as a negative reaction. The crew did learn pretty quickly that they could either deal with whatever input was upsetting the girl or fix the wiring in the diner/radio in the trans am/radios and ray guns that were on the fritz. also they didn’t like to see her upset.

my kobra and jet have the largest age gap (6 years) and they have very differnt backgrounds that make it hard to completely understand each other. they do really love each other and would (and have) died for each other but jets childhood was uncommonly stable and accepting, if not obviously dangerous, while kobras was... bad in most ways. theyre both traumatized but jet in a “was raised in a warzone” way and kobras in a “gaytrans and neurodivergent kid raised in god damn battery city” way

Jet looked back at the undergrad, trying to see what Tommy did. The kid plucked a pair of sunglasses off the shelf, sliding the ones he was wearing up to put the new ones on and look around the store. He put the glasses back on the shelf and reached for a new pair. Tommy was still watching the kid when Jet turned back to him.
