Once an emo kid, always an emo kid. Although the early 2000s are becoming a part of the increasingly distant past, MCR's music still means as much to me now as it did then. Particularly the stuff from the danger days era.
SO I went and repainted an old ass killjoys poster I made years ago. Cuz why not.
Angst, angst, angst, the idea has probably been done lots of times but I wanted to give it my own personal twist! I also added some newspaper parts and words to make kind of like a dialogue that was between Poison and Kobra, before everything went to shit basically.
It’s in Spanish, but in case someone can’t understand it, here’s the translation:
K: “I wish that one day we can be number one. Not because of money or success, but for having made a mark that will be recognized across the world.”
P: “Yeah, it’s frustrating.”
K: “We don’t know if we will make it tomorrow.”
P: “I really don’t know what’s going to happen once we get there.”
K: “Well, even if something does happen, we’ll see. My dream and my idea is to keep on fighting.”
Sorry in advance 🕺🏻
Edit: OK. WOW. I DID NOT KNOW I WOULD BREAK SO MANY PEOPLE AND GET SO MANY INTERACTIONS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WILD. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH.
A desert newspaper's local rodeo queen of 1982. This is a signed clipping I obtained, although I can't be sure if the signature is from Cherri Cola himself.
"...She befriends four freelance anarchists, children born of violence and rock'n'roll...The future relies on these four men known only as the Fabulous Four."
can we talk about the fact that danger days/the zones have such a strong, realistic, and fully flushed out culture and community. like genuinely so few fictional universes are that well rounded and have THAT much depth. theres will and reason, theres purpose, theres strong dialect, habits, behaviors, personality, religion, location, history, food, art, ceremonies, music and dance and love and color and life and death so so much more. Its amazing esp since the canon material has little substance that the fandom expanded on and can agree upon. its so immersive and welcoming and honestly so beautiful, ily all for being a part of its existence <3 :’)
