you know. after rewatching the og ben 10 & batman beyond. i think i’m starting to realize the problem with cartoons today. they’re getting dumber.
#also mostly they don’t have cool theme songs anymore. but i mean i dunno man it feels like every time i try to watch the cartoons today#(aside from the obvious good one) it feels like. cartoons don’t respect their audience anymore? like they aren’t trying bc it’s “for kids’’#like some executive signed an order that everything has to be dumb & quick bc kids have low attention spans or whatever.#kids are smart man. they can handle a lot more concepts than you’d think. we don’t have to dumb everything down. they gotta use their heads.#if they don’t. they’ll wind up like all the people who use tiktok. or watch “ending explained’’ videos. idk i just think we can do better.#like yeah sure there’s Some things that probably shouldn’t be in “kids’’ shows but like. let em learn a bit.#if we censor everything to be ultra mega wholesome™️ & don’t let them view basic narrative structure than they’re gonna grow up illiterate.#or at least not knowing things they could & probably should. but what do i know.#idk man it just kinda bothers me how so many “kids’’ shows use to at least have basic story telling. & now you’re lucky if you even get that#it’s all bright colors & flashy imagery & mascots and blah blah blah. fuckin cardsharks running this whole thing man.
