triangle strategy freedom path 🤝 tactics ogre chaotic path : better stories than the “ideal” path that the game pushes
#like the games are written from this centrist/lawful perspective that write these two options to be ‘extreme’ examples of useless sacrifice#but realistically if these are the only options given in a false dichotomy of authoritarianism : status quo heroism : personal liberty#but they frame ‘liberty’ as selfish. but the other options in the game do nothing to uproot the systemic inequality that the setting is#built upon#they just implement the main character as the new leader without allowing room for the main character to see other peoples perspectives#and these routes i prefer arent perfect#but theres something to be said for their places as subversive approaches to the genre while staying within its confines as the game genre#itself dictates. youre still killing people and fighting for what your own beliefs are#however these routes allow you to include others. the common people. the most oppressed.#and idk. theres no value to ‘personal liberty’ if you cant take other people with you and do what you can to make things better for EVERYONE#and its interesting that these games convey this…while also framing these as the non-idealistic endings#t#do i tag these? hmm. sure. just for my own tags.#mind you im not done tactics ogre yet 💀 ive played every route in ts though#triangle strategy#tactics ogre
